Avenging Spider-Man – My Friends Can Beat Up Your Friends | Comics

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and The Avengers were fighting a giant robot from A.I.M. While his fellow team-members Captain America, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Red Hulk, Spider-Woman, Thor and Wolverine were busy taking it down, Spidey wonders about how he manages to make time for all these super-heroics all the time! So, he asked his colleagues if anyone is going back to New York City as he has to get back to his job. Everyone bailed out and Iron Man suggested that Red Hulk drops him on their behalf.

At the same time, Mayor J. Jonah Jameson was attending a marathon on the other side of the city and soon it is interrupted by a huge pack of Moloids who stomped towards him, scaring the joggers present there. Mayor Jameson tried to stop the Moloids by shooting at them but quickly realized that it is filled with blanks and is kidnapped by the Moloids, who has taken his through a hole on street. Getting a call from Iron Man, Spidey and Red Hulk arrived moments before Jameson was taken.

While Jonah Jameson was still threatening the Moloids for tearing his roads apart, Spider-Man and Red Hulk tries to intimidate the Moloids army. This result in one of them whistles a flute to summon a giant ground worm from beneath that apparently tore through land to swallow them both. Spidey and Rulk struggles to get free but some neuro-toxin released from its tongues put them to sleep. The Moloids, who thought Jameson to be King of island "New York" and taken him to their ruler Mole Man to ask for his help.

It appears that Mole Man didn't send the Moloids, they went looking for Jameson by their own. In fact, he no longer rules Subterranea as he is dethroned by the leader of the Molans called Ra'ktar. Mayor Jameson is brought to the new king and he is told to kneel but he refused. Since they all speak in runes, Jameson couldn't understand that he actually challenged Ra'ktar for his throne by refusing to kneel despite Mole Man's constant warnings before him and he is taken away.

When Spidey and Rulk gains consciousness, they found themselves in the deep underground of Subterranea. Rulk was about to bring it all down when Spidey stopped him and they are informed by the Moloids of a Civil War that is taking place between two Subterranean races; Moloids and Molans. As Jameson was being prepared by Molans to face Ra'ktar in combat, Red Hulk appears and challenges him in a battle. Rulk assured Spidey and Mayor Jameson that it would be a short fight but did not expect it to be for him.

Avenging Spider-Man – My Friends Can Beat Up Your Friends

"My Friends Can Beat Up Your Friends" is the first storyline from the brand-new monthly ongoing Avenging Spider-Man comic-book series. So, writer Zeb Wells (Dark Reign – Elektra, Shadowland – Elektra) teamed up with the long absent fan favorite Joe Madureira (Inhuman – Genesis, Savage Wolverine – Hands on a Dead Body) to create this part of storyline for Marvel Comics in 2012. Two one part bonus stories are also done by guest artist Greg Land (Mighty Avengers, Uncanny X-Men) and Leinil Francis Yu (New Avengers, Secret Invasion), also plotted by writer Wells.

The first storyline follow a very unlikely team-up adventure of Spider-Man and Red Hulk in their quest to save a hostage Mayor J. Jonah Jameson from the middle of a Subterranean Civil War. However, it wasn't his lucky day and Spidey was forced to fill in for him and managed to save the day in a twist. Next up, he finds fellow Avenger member Hawkeye tagged along in a mission against Serpent Society, where his feeling of inferiority among super-heroes is explored. Finally, it was Captain America, who fought side by side with him in defeating Copperhead and they shared views about their passion.

Mighty Avengers – The Ultron Initiative | Comics

Iron Man assembles Mighty Avengers, a team of A-list members of Avengers and Ultron returns for ultimate revenge.

By the end of superhero "Civil War", Tony Stark became new Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and he asks Carol Danvers to lead a new team of Mighty Avengers. Danvers suggest for an all-powerhouse team with everyone level nine or higher but Tony wants to have some team dynamics within the mix by adding a few members who are street-savvy.

They start with Wonder Man and Wasp from original Avengers team before moving to Sentry, which Carol is very skeptical about. Given his time with New Avengers, Tony realizes that they need a ninja, someone like Maya Lopez but since she is a fugitive on run right now, they go for Natasha Romanoff AKA Black Widow instead.

When it comes to choosing substitute for a Thor and Wolverine, Carol took him to Ares, God of War and though he didn't initially wanted to comply, Iron Man managed to strike a deal with him. In between their recruitment, Tony has been receiving and responding to many emergency reports from around the globe about natural calamities.

Immediately after their formation, Tony and his allies get busy to deal with a situation in Manhattan where a group of monstrous creatures show up and causing mayhem. While fighting, Simon Williams pointed out that Mole Man could be behind this and he is proven right when Harvey Elder comes out threatening them.

All of a sudden, Iron Man's armor starts warping and after blasting everyone off nearby with a repulsor charge, a female figure appears in that place. When it is confirmed that she was the one responsible for their home being destroyed, Mole Man sends his entire army after her only to be repelled and being completely molten into goo.

Despite Ms. Marvel not wanting to engage, an attempt to attack her by Ares and Sentry has led them both struck with lighting but the latter still pursues to have his axe broken and zapped even harder. Though no one had the slightest idea who that silver-skinned woman was, Janet van Dyne confronted her to confirm it to be Ultron.

Thinking Tony is still trapped within its shell and not dead yet, Carol orders her team to retreat as they can't even go near it and decides to come up with a better plan of attack. Leaving Sentry behind to deal with Ultron, she leads her crew to S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier looking for Henry Pym, who created the menacing murder bot years ago.

Hank was busy spending time with Tigra and ignoring calls but then S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were sent in to fetch him. To gain an upper hand in fight, Ultron took over the Helicarrier and send it crushing down. Sentry eventually saved it from falling with help from his fellow Avengers and Natasha takes charge when Maria Hill is knocked out.

To make their worst nightmare come true, a drone similar to original Iron Man armor called Starktech 9 flies in to inform that Tony Stark is dead, which is confirmed by Hank as he helped Tony create it as a fail-safe program for crisis like this.

Upon explaining how Ultron is manipulating weather using a group of satellites, Bob and Simon totally trashed them off. She then announces to initiate "Plan B", which is to cause a complete blackout throughout New York by releasing an electromagnetic pulse and then breaking into Stark Tower to get to Lindy Reynolds, wife of Sentry.

Running parallel to New Avengers comic-book series, writer Brian Michael Bendis (House of M, Secret War) and artist Frank Cho (Marvel Knights Spider-Man – Venomous, Savage Wolverine – Kill Island) was roped in by Marvel Comics to work on Mighty Avengers team comprised of registered superheroes, as part of Fifty State Initiative.

"The Ultron Initiative" marks the first storyline in a brand-new monthly ongoing publication started in 2007 and collects first six issues from first volume of release. After gathering some A-list Avengers members, Bendis made things more interesting by tossing in one of their biggest threat ever, who returned to end all life on Earth.

In post-Civil War period, Iron Man is Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. now and he puts Ms. Marvel in charge of his new team. Although their first mission starts with facing Mole Man and his army of Moloids, soon they are confronted by a literal ghost from past in form of Ultron and none of them has expected him to make a comeback like this.

Among all of Tony's fellow heroes, Ares comes out as most unusual addition to Mighty Avengers but proved to be very resourceful when it comes to make strategic plans. Reassembling for their next adventure in "Venom Bomb", Stark and his team will slowly be heading towards the culmination of a major "Secret Invasion".

Fantastic Four | Comics

Brilliant scientist Reed Richards had designed an experimental rocket shuttle on his own which was well capable of space traveling. Instead his financiers withdraw their interests on his project and in an act of desperation; Reed decides to run an unauthorized test flight into other star systems.

Fantastic Four | Comics

His girlfriend Susan Storm and her impatient younger brother Johnny Storm tag along in this voyage and Reed’s old friend Ben Grimm joined as their pilot in this adventurous journey to space. Everything was going fine until they were unexpectedly exposed to an immeasurable amount of cosmic radiation. The mission is aborted with the rocket gone straight to California woods, crush landing there.

Surprisingly Reed and his crews were all intact except for the fact that their DNA has been altered to the cellular level by cosmic radiation. It gave Reed the power to stretch his body at will (later calling himself Mr. Fantastic), Susan could turn herself invisible and generate force fields (dubbing herself as Invisible Girl) and Johnny can turn himself into a living torch (calling himself Human Torch).

Ben got the worst effect of the radiation as he is turned into an orange colored being with rocky skin (calling him The Thing). Thus the team of Fantastic Four is formed and a new era of family adventure has begun. They've found themselves up against Doctor Doom, The Skrulls, Annihilus, Mole Man, the planet eater; Galactus and his herald Silver Surfer as well as other enemies.

Fantastic Four is a famous comic book series from Marvel Comics, created by Stan Lee (Amazing Spider-Man, Doctor Strange) and Jack Kirby (Black Panther, New Gods) in 1961. It was Marvel’s first attempt to create a superhero team for the comics and unlike The Avengers, the Fantastic Four are more than a family than a team of superheroes. The popularity of the comic led to two live action movies; Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four – Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), as well as a few video games too.

For years to come the series became more and more popular and many heroes and villains also makes their appearances in the pages of Fantastic Four; especially the Doctor Doom, Puppet Master, the Mad Thinker, Mole Man, the shape-shifting alien race of the Skrulls, the planet devourer; Galactus and more. Their participation was most notable during the Onslaught Saga, Heroes Return, Civil War, Secret Invasion and the Dark Reign crossover event.
