Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps – Bottled Light | Comics

Hal Jordan is lost after Warworld is destroyed and Green Lantern Corps teams up with Sinestro Corps to watch over.

While Hal Jordan was fighting to overthrow the tyrannical Sinestro and totally wrecked his Warworld before vanishing into beyond, the Green Lantern Corps had disappeared and came back. Earlier, Guy Gardner was captured by Yellow Lanterns but former Corps member and Sinestro's defiant daughter Soranik Natu helped him out in time.

When John Stewart led his entire Corps onto Sector 0, he caught a brief glimpse of that destruction and was surprised to see Gardner with Sinestro Corps, who were currently following the lead of Soranik. As she updates them about what Jordan did back there, Salakk picks up an emergency on Tomar-Tu's homeworld Xudar.

Leaving everyone else on living planet Mogo, Stewart takes the rest of the Corps to the location to find it under attack by Starro. John and his colleagues try their best to restrain the Star Conqueror and just when they were feeling outnumbered, Soranik led her Yellow Lantern Corps to help but then it immediately disappears from there.

Members of both Corps were having a hard time dealing with the locals controlled by Starro and suddenly discovered themselves trapped within an energy barrier. Attempts of breaking it remain unsuccessful so far and on top of that, all Corpsmen are now suddenly being attacked by a large group of mind-controlled Xudarians.

Taking care of the crowd, Stewart realizes after some inspection that they all are miniaturized and captured by Brainiac 2.0. It is finally revealed that Brainiac was actually working on behalf of Larfleeze, who found him among the junks of planet Okaara. Upon learning who their true captor was, John plans an escape tactics with Soranik.

On a hidden prison planet of Indigo Tribe at Sector 2814, Ganthet and Sayd finds Hal Jordan's lost ring that indicates end of their exile. They see the ring without its bearer and Sayd asserts it as a deception citing only a Guardian can create a ring of will. However, her husband is amused that it exists and that means Hal proved everyone wrong.

Jordan discovers himself stranded on Emerald Space, where he is greeted by Abin Sur and many other deceased members of the Green Lantern Corps. Since it is an everlasting sphere for departed Corps members, Sur states that Hal doesn't belong there yet and the exiled Guardians notice whatever life essence he had is dying quickly.

So, White Lantern Kyle Rayner is called in to rescue Hal from fading away in Emerald Space and bring back to the world of living to save the Corps. Together they were able to pull Jordan back to the world of living before he was getting lost forever.

Hal reunites with Ganthet, Sayd and Kyle with a new perspective at his destiny and learned that his fellow Corpsmen have returned a while ago. They all then head to living planet Mogo to see them all only to know that they all left earlier in response to an emergency but could not establish contact for lack of communication data.

Meanwhile, John Stewart and Soranik Natu starts a fight that eventually draw in every members of each Corps into pounding one another, causing Agent Orange to worry about losing his specimens and unwittingly setting them all free at once.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps – Bottled Light

Picking up one of the renowned flagship of DC Comics, writer Robert Venditti (Damage – Out of Control, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps – Sinestro's Law) hailed brand-new monthly ongoing comic-book series Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps quite well for "DC Rebirth" from where it was left of by the end of "New 52" run.

Venditti was assisted by artists Ed Benes (Justice League of America – Sanctuary, Justice League of America – Second Coming), Ethan Van Sciver (The Flash – Rebirth, Green Lantern – Rebirth) and Rafa Sandoval (Catwoman – Death of the Family, Catwoman – Gotham Underground) for issues #8-13 of second story arc of the series, "Bottled Light".

Trapped and Collected

Now that Sinestro is gone, his Corps follows Soranik Natu as their newest leader and she tries to atone for her father's wrongdoings by forming an alliance with Green Lantern Corps. They fight against celestial conqueror Starro side by side before fighting the combined threat of collector of worlds, Brainiac 2.0 and avatar of avarice, Larfleeze.

Venditti and his entire creative team continues their successful stint that was kick-started during Rebirth in 2017 and concluded to next story-arc "Quest for Hope", where Kyle Rayner and Hal Jordan will go looking for Saint Walker. Sandoval is showing some superior drawing skills so far to be a rising star of DC Comics if he is not already.

The Unworthy Thor | Comics

For ages, The Mighty Thor has been master of lightning and bearer of his mighty uru hammer Mjolnir, until Nick Fury whispered something to his ears (during Original Sin), which was a long-kept secret by Uatu The Watcher that rendered him unworthy and he became unable to lift the mystic hammer.

Since then, he has been tirelessly seeking means of wielding his trusted weapon once again by redeeming his worthiness. It dropped on surface of the moon and unsuccessful at reclaiming his right to wield Mjolnir, he is now going by the name Odinson these days.

In quest for redemption, his new weapon of choice is a battle axe called Jarnbjorn and Odinson also starts using arm prosthesis made of Black Uru after it was chopped off in a fight against Malekith. A new female Thor started wielding the enchanted hammer while it rejected him again and again.

Then Multiverse started collapsing and he aided The Avengers in their mission to save all but Odinson dies with Hyperion trying to oppose a wave of Beyonders (Time Runs Out). Realities clashed, Universe died and restored back as Odinson came to find Mjolnir again (Secret Wars).

After dozens of satellites were damaged by some unknown forces, Odinson receives a call from Alpha Flight about this matter. He goes to investigate on moon and engages in a fight with a group of Trolls led by their leader King Ulik.

Though he had his battle axe Jarnbjorn at hand, it isn't as effective in battle as Mjolnir was and after some struggle, he was able to force the Trolls retreat with a little help from his mystical pet goat Toothgnasher. Then The Unseen approached him on surface of moon, who informed Odinson about another hammer of a dead Thor of another world.

Back at old Asgard, Odinson rushed there on Toothgnasher only to find it disappeared from its place. While he was wondering who could have done this, legendary Korbinite warrior and an old friend, Beta Ray Bill came looking for him.

Seeing Odinson without his mighty Mjolnir, Bill offers his very own Stormbreaker to Odinson but the latter gently rejects this offer. As Bill was about to disclose the identity of the one who has taken over eternal Norse realm into his possession, the Brothers in Thunder came under attack.

These two engages their attacking party and when Thor heads toward their transport ship, a powerful bomb from a lost civilization is dropped on him. When woke up, Odinson discovers himself in chains and the person behind his capture and Asgard's disappearance is revealed to be an elder of universe named Taneleer Tivan; The Collector.

He wants Ultimate Mjolnir for himself and unsuccessfully tries to force Odinson into revealing way of lifting it. Soon, along with a mysterious hooded figure, Black Swan and Proxima Midnight of Thanos's Black Order sneaks into Collector's ship looking for the hammer.

The Unworthy Thor

A five-part limited series, which is the brainchild of writer Jason Aaron (Southern Bastards, Thanos Rising) and artist Olivier Coipel (House of M, Siege), "The Unworthy Thor" centers around event that are highlights from Original Sin to AXIS to Thors – Battleworld, a tie-in story from Secret Wars crossover event.

A journey of Odinson that has began from regaining his grace and reclaiming his title of being worthy to wield his legendary uru hammer Mjolnir once again is focus of entire plot. Long after, The Thunder Brothers of Asgard are reunited once again against a common foe and fought valiantly side by side for a common goal, which was very satisfying.

War of The Unworthy

This story features a wide array of Marvel characters like Beta Ray Bill, Black Swan, Hela, Nick Fury, Proxima Midnight, Thanos, The Collector, Thori, Toothgnasher and Ulik, each of whom played their own respective parts for the story to advance forward to a direction where all of these will finally make sense.

Surprisingly, Taneleer Tivan AKA The Collector in this book resembles a lot like Benicio del Toro's version of the character portrayed in live-action Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) movie. The story also hinted at a couple of point that might relate to Marvel Cinematic Universe live-action film Thor – Ragnarok (2017) and upcoming Avengers – Infinity War (2018).

Champions – Change The World | Comics

In New Jersey, at Khan Family residence, Kamala Khan was having breakfast with her family and was thinking about prior events that took place three days ago while her father Yusuf Khan asks her why is she not out much lately.

She recalls her last mission with The Avengers at Queens, when she was busy balancing a derailed train as Giant Girl in the middle of a fight against Wrecking Crew. She managed to save hundreds of passengers of that train while Sam Wilson and Jane Foster smites Thunderball and Piledriver of the gang down as Captain America and Thor.

As her teammates wrapped things up after taking down the bad guys, she asks them about their agenda on battle damage nearby and how their fight is constantly disrupting civilian lives. Vision agrees with her and points out how people are angry at them because of their recent internal skirmish.

They needs to earn that trust back. Her argument on the topic with Captain America has proved his points invalid to her as Ms. Marvel leaves the team while Jane Foster's Thor shockingly watched an Avenger quit again. Being bored sitting in home, she called her friends Miles Morales and Sam Alexander to meet her.

At George Washington Bridge, when Miles and Sam showed up as Spider-Man and Nova, they thought Ms. Marvel was about to request them to re-join The Avengers but she reveals that she already quit. Kamala explains to them that they should be forming a team who actually cares about super-heroics and can make an actual difference.

Miles suggests enlisting extraordinary young hero Amadeus Cho AKA Totally Awesome Hulk to their team. Cho was inside a Kentucky hills coal mine at that time for a rescue mission, where Ms. Marvel, Nova and Spidey showed up to lend their hands.

With some coordinated plan, there four successfully rescued the miners trapped inside and Cho then vouched for his gaming partner Viv Vision to be included as well. Riding in Cho's Meat Wagon, they all reached at Vision's house and Amadeus explains to the three ex-Avengers how they need to tap into worldwide events to get involved.

He suggested making Viv as their personal trouble-alert because of her built in Wi-Fi multiprocessors. To demonstrate her ability of filtering urgent problems from web, Viv picked up footage of captive girls in a cargo seeking help.

They all quickly rushed to the source of that video transmission to confront a demented clown called Pagliacci with his crews to stop them from deporting those captive girls. After they successfully foiled his attempt of human trafficking, Kamala announces themselves on behalf of her friends as The Champions by handing Pagliacci over to authorities.

However, while they celebrate their first victory and there is more to come, there is one more member to add to their ranks who is none other than a time displaced young X-Men leader Cyclops.
