Venom – Homecoming | Comics

No longer an "Agent of the Cosmos", Venom is back on Earth and found a new host that turns him into a slathering monster.

Former Army Ranger Lee Price was thinking about how choices in life are so easy for bad guys and how it takes a lot of strength to do the right thing at all times just to be a good guy. He is currently looking for a job in New York City so he could pay rents and his friend Tony has set him up for an interview with Mac Gargan, former Scorpion.

Trying to intimidate his new recruit, Gargan asks him if he has ever killed anyone during his time as a Ranger and what was the reason behind his discharge, to which Lee calmly responds by saying that he can kill people if its needed and shows off two of his fingers that blew up in the line of duty, which has him classified as "disabled" now.

Elsewhere, Venom symbiote was wandering without a host for some time after being separated from Flash Thompson. Lee and his friends showed up at their spot that night for a job offered by Gargan on behalf of Black Cat. It was an exchange with men sent by Tombstone who attempted to walk away without payment and pulled their guns.

Not expecting any shootout, Lee didn't bring his guns and Venom symbiote suddenly bursts in out of nowhere and almost immediately bonded with Lee. Surprisingly enough, he was able to gain total control over the suit and trashed his enemies. He kills his peers and a homeless man to eradicate all evidence from scene before heading home.

Back at his place, his suit was struggling with Lee over having psychic control on him but fails due to his training in army. Next day, he goes to meet crime boss Black Cat to return her goodies back to her and decides to join her gang. Seeing Gargan working for her, his symbiote protests this idea and made him vomit to create a scene.

While rebuking his partner about pulling a dangerous stunt earlier, Lee returns to his apartment only to stumble onto an assassin named Firebug, who is here to take him out on behalf of Tombstone for murdering his gang. Against his fiery power of pyrokinesis, Venom finds it very hard to fight back but to save Lee's life, it helped anyway.

FBI Agent Bagman and Wambaugh have been keeping an eye on Lee for some time and decide to intervene at that very moment to take him into custody. Lee escapes but the agents find him again, forcing him to work for them whether he likes it or not as they are fully capable of neutralizing him anytime they want if he doesn't comply.

Meanwhile, Gargan visits Black Cat to talk about his suspicion about Lee Price killing all those men they sent to make a deal with Tombstone's gang. She sarcastically brushes him off but one of her right-hand man shows Mac Price's destroyed apartment, where no bodies were found and Mac Gargan decides to take matters in his own hand.

Agent Wambaugh asked Lee to meet near Parker Industries and Bagman came to him asking about who Spider-Man really is. Black Cat summons her new hired gun Lee Price to see what is really at play with him and sends him to scare off a Daily Bugle reporter from a story he's been working on, tagging him along with her pet Scorpion.

Lee talked to his symbiote to calm it down when he is at work but seeing Gargan, it became agitated. Instead of doing what they came for, Mac attempts to beat Lee Price to a pulp and their assignment quickly turned into a huge brawl. When footage of their brawl goes viral on social media, it even catches the eyes of Spider-Man.

Venom – Homecoming

Marvel Comics hires comic-book writer Mike Costa (Web Warriors of the Spider-Verse – Electroverse, Web Warriors of the Spider-Verse – Spiders Vs.) and artist Gerardo Sandoval (Age of Apocalypse – Warzones!, Korvac Saga – Warzones!) to cook up a brand-new storyline to re-launch a new Venom monthly ongoing series in 2017.

"Homecoming" collects first six issues from third volume of Venom comic-book series and kick-starts a new status-quo. Klyntar finds a new host in Lee Price, who demonstrated his capability as a psychotic killer and to become a notorious villain. Classic Spider-Man villains like Black Cat and Scorpion also made special appearance for this arc.

Deadliest Fanged Monster

Being one of Spider-Man's arch enemies for years, Venom has returned to Earth recently and has somehow got separated from Flash Thompson. Now they are not "Agent of the Cosmos" anymore and the alien symbiote has found itself a new host that is evil and not anything like a "Lethal Protector" that Eddie Brock ever was during his run.

Coming from a military background, Lee Price shows impressive control over his suit and quickly managed to get hired by New York's newest Kingpin of crime, Black Cat. However, his cover is blown due to his cockiness and all hell breaks loose. One of his former host returns for a plot twist that will be explored in next storyline "Land Before Crime".

Amazing Spider-Man – Spiral | Comics

Crime lords of New York are getting desperate for territory control and Spider-Man tries his best to contain the madness.

After dealing with events of Spider-Verse and coming back from Multiverse, Peter Parker was swinging around New York City as Amazing Spider-Man. He comes across Captain Yuri Watanabe of NYPD surrounding an abandoned building on a warrant from Detective Teddy Rangel, who got a tip about Tombstone raising an army.

Spidey offers his help as they were partners in crime-fighting before but Watanabe decides to do things by book this time. However, their conversation is interrupted when Tombstone's men starts shooting at them. Spider-Man quickly takes them aside from harm's way and bursts through an army of goons before taking down their boss.

Tombstone and his men are all arrested shortly but Teddy was taken to hospital to deal with serious injury. In court, Judge Howell lets Lonnie Lincoln walk free from custody due to lack of evidence and Yuri gets heat from Chief Yaborough. Peter goes to talk to her at hospital in his civilian guise and a comatose Teddy eventually dies later.

That night, Watanabe gets a surprise visit from Martin Li AKA Mister Negative, who is revealed to be Teddy's source. He hands her photograph evidence of Judge Howell dealing drugs with Tombstone's guys. Even with this evidence at hand, she fails to convince police chief to issue a warrant against Howell and decides to go as Wraith.

Amazing Spider-Man – Spiral | Comics

She meets with Spider-Man to raid a construction site to find records on him and blew up a vault with anti-tank missile to get it. As Spidey argues over her vigilante methods of working, Mister Negative keeps an eye over her from afar. This led to Howell's arrest but Chief Yaborough tells her that she is taking things personally.

In uptown Manhattan, Goblin King and Hammerhead discuss terms of taking over Tombstone's territory when they are interrupted by everyone's friendly neighborhood Wall-Crawler. He informs Yuri about some sort of meeting at her precinct and both of them showed up to that gathering at Empire Royale Theater on midnight.

Though they managed to trash all mobs but Goblin King managed to flee and Hammerhead drags Spider-Man to a cage fight. He gets the first drop by sucker-punching Spidey, only to get beaten twice as hard to a knockout. As they two leave arguing over Wraith fighting for territory control, Mister Negative watches them from a nearby seat.

Shortly afterwards, a turf war breaks in between goons of Hammerhead and Tombstone at third precinct of Manhattan. Black Cat shows up to show them who is in charge but none of them are willing to join her. A new Crime Master approaches her suggesting that she try to win favor of those mobsters by breaking them out of jail.

Tipped off by Mister Negative about this plan of a breakout, Spidey and Wraith head to Ryker's Island. There, they fend off members of Enforcers and though Web-head gets mauled by Cat, he managed to convince her to walk away. Despite his efforts to contain the situation, one of Mr. Negative's Inner Demons henchmen shot Tombstone.

Though his attempt to form an alliance with Circus of Crime fell apart, he managed to deduce Captain Watanabe was Wraith all along and set her up to do his bidding. Yuri and Spidey soon find themselves teaming-up once again to foil another evil plan of Mr. Negative that involves fighting The Ringmaster and his entourage of crime.

Amazing Spider-Man – Spiral

In post-Spider-Verse period, writer Gerry Conway (Amazing Spider-Man – Renew Your Vows – Brawl In The Family, Amazing Spider-Man – Renew Your Vows – The Venom Experiment) took charge of mainline Spider-Man narrative along with talented artist Carlo Barberi (Deadpool – Suicide Kings, Ororo – Before the Storm) for a brief time.

Collecting issues #16.1-20.1 from Amazing Spider-Man monthly ongoing comic-book series, "Spiral" effectively wrapped up its third volume of publication from Marvel Comics in 2015 with a basic tale of gang wars in New York. Covers were done by artist Arthur Adams (Fantastic Four – Monsters Unleashed, Fear Itself – The Fearless).

Spiraling Out of Control

Following events of "Shadowland", New York underworld sees a power vacuum in absence of Kingpin. Most of these fights for territory were between Hammerhead and Tombstone, while Mister Negative was cooking his own plans. Things went worse from bad when Crime Master and reassembled Enforcers decides to help Black Cat.

Previous storyline "Graveyard Shift" was more about Peter Parker finding his place in his own company Parker Industries and among friends. "Spiral" is more about fighting old enemies under new circumstances that changes people forever. Most notably, recent events have drastically changed Captain Yuri Watanabe and her ways.

Amazing Spider-Man – Graveyard Shift | Comics

Peter Parker returns home to discover Parker Industries being invaded by corporate saboteur and infamous super-villain Ghost.

Returning home recently after leading a group of Spider-People from Multiverse against an inter-dimensional murderous family of The Inheritors to victory, Peter Parker is back as The Amazing Spider-Man. Although not at his top form, Pete is more confident than ever to lead his company Parker Industries towards a better future.

Fighting over Morlun and his family took a lot of life force out of him lately and therefore, he was having a bit hard time against reptilian super-villain Iguana. Amidst his struggle, he gets a call from Aunt May, who was worried for not hearing from him for days and wants to know if Peter is still bringing Anna Maria Marconi to dinner.

May wasn't aware that he and Anna are not dating anymore, which makes him uncomfortable. He then gets a call from Anna shortly afterwards and when Iguana realizes that Spidey is on phone, his lack of mannerism greatly bothers him. Anna reminds Peter that he has been missing for days and now is needed for an important meeting soon.

His co-worker Sajani Jaffrey cuts in to tell him to arrive there and present his idea to committee for a prison contract. As he explains how people need to show compassion and understanding towards bad-guys, he was beating down Iguana. When Pete hears that they are competing against Alchemax for the deal, he quickly wraps things up.

Alchemax co-founder Liz Allan was slightly worried seeing Peter since he always manages to win in the end and wished that he wouldn't succeed this time. Overhearing this, her stepbrother Mark Raxton who was former super-villain Molten Man and Ty Stone then plans on hiring corporate saboteur Ghost to infiltrate Parker Industries.

During dinner at Aunt May and Jay's apartment, Anna Maria covers a break-up story for Peter and she had him change suit to swing back at HQ. There, Sajani was going nuts over Parker Industries trying to create a super villain prison is a bad idea but former criminal Clayton Cole points out that Pete is also focusing on reforming them.

They are interrupted by a security guard who reports of a system anomaly only to see Anna and Peter making an entrance. This really surprised her as she has upgraded system after Black Cat broke in earlier and was supposed to get a text from Pete. Sajani gets annoyed knowing they came through a secret door that she didn't know about.

In their security hub, Ghost has broken in and after sealing all exits, deactivated all means of communication to outside. He took out a guard and then turned all security measures against employees of Parker Industries. In an attempt to save his co-workers from bot attacks, Peter starts using his powers before changing into Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, former jewel thief turned tough as nails mob-boss Black Cat is set to establish her name in criminal underworld and since she can't steal everything, someone needs to pay. When her lackey Melter and Killer Shrike brought Ringer to her back room, she made an example out of him for due payment and trying to get a drop on her.

Trying to be one of the good guys didn't work well for Black Cat in past and she decides to take back what was once hers. So, she kidnaps Jay Jameson and May Parker alongside jealous millionaire Regina Venderkamp before stealing everything she bought earlier from an auction that once belonged to Felicia to set them all on fire.

Amazing Spider-Man – The Parker Luck | Comics

When Spider-Man was gone, the world has changed and Peter Parker returns only to discover someone amazing like him out there.

After one of his greatest enemies, Doctor Octopus living in his shell as Superior Spider-Man for months, Peter Parker is back again as the Amazing Spider-Man. Coming back, he responds to an alarm for robbery by The Menagerie; a gang of animal-themed criminal members led by White Rabbit.

They came here to loot an auction house with her accomplice Hippo, Panda-Mania and Skein. As he tries to confront them, Skein shreds up his whole costume using her power and he ends up stopping them buck-naked in public.

A few hours back, the first thing he does upon regaining his body is to attend a small press to explain how he is alive after a "Goblin Attack" on Parker Industries. Thanks to Doc Ock, his PhD is complete; he now owns the company and apparently is in a relationship with Anna Maria Marconi.

When he gets back to his apartment, Anna was already there and she figured out that he is Spider-Man by seeing footage of his bare body. He explains everything that happened and she is still baffled to know that she was dating a criminal.

Meanwhile, his buddies at Avengers Tower watched him back in action and even though Spider-Woman confirmed it really is indeed their old teammate judging by his goofiness but Captain America calls him to meet anyway. While they were running dozens of tests on him to determine if he really is the real-deal, they were catching up on how Doctor Octopus had mind-swapped with him.

Steve Rogers still remains a bit skeptical because he previously blamed being possessed by the alien symbiote for his behavior. Spidey hit him hard and lashed out at him when he learned that Steve was aware of Flash Thompson being active as Venom.

Some of Otto's experiments on super-villain Electro have his powers malfunctioning and he decided to make a comeback. When he entered Conway Penitentiary to re-create his notorious "Breakout in Raft" act, he accidentally blew it up the whole joint.

With his powers gone haywire, Electro desperately seeks for a shelter and finds it on Francine Frye's apartment. Despite his warnings, she tried to kiss him and an uncontrolled power surge fried her. Driven mad by her death, Max Dillon goes after Spider-Man whom he believes responsible for all.

Also, Octavius had an encounter with costumed burglar Black Cat during his stint as a hero and he gave her a severe beating before leaving her wrapped in webs. She escaped captivity as a result of Electro's rampage and wanted to get back at Spidey for ruining her life by throwing her in jail.

She goes to see a confrontation between Spider-Man and Electro to help the latter using her luck power. Later she faced web-head when Max accidentally caused fire to a building full of homeless people and then offered Electro for a team-up.

Shortly, he joined assembled members of Avengers and X-Men to fight protect the city from Mindless Ones. They took down Exterminatrix and The Orb unleashes one of the eyes of the recently deceased Uatu the Watcher.

It shows him that, the radioactive spider that bit him thirteen years ago also bit a girl after him. The girl, Cindy Moon is later taken in by Ezekiel Sims and she is locked away to hide from Morlun. He breaks her out of a secret bunker and instead of being happy for freedom, she is angry on Peter for exposing her Morlun.

Although, the wall-crawler assures her that he took care of the totemic predator away for good, she insists that, he can come back again. Elsewhere, the villain senses her presence and declares of "The Greatest Hunt".

Cindy webbed up a costume for her and Peter learns that she is faster, has better reflexes if not stronger, improved spider-sense and they cannot get their hands off each other when in close proximity. She quickly catches on to the super-hero deal by adopting an identity of Silk and would probably save Spider-Man from getting his secret identity busted and his ass kicked.
