New Avengers – Revolution | Comics

With couple of new recruits on their team, New Avengers team goes to Japan to bring back one of their own.

It was the day when Avengers member Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch lost control over her reality-altering powers, which started a chaos that took life of her fellow teammate Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Vision. Clint Barton wakes up months later after that incident in a park in New York and learns of his death from a newspaper.

To find answers, he goes to see Doctor Strange and though surprised, he informed that Clint is healthy and very much alive. When he wanted to know about Wanda, Strange says that she is not using her powers, so he can't track her. He then travels to Wundagore Mountain and bumped into an amnesiac Wanda living there for a while.

Civil War has ended and New Avengers have assembled themselves once again but Ronin has never left Japan. Staying there, she tangled with wannabe Yakuza mobsters and killed many of Hand ninjas. Eventually their current leader Elektra came looking for her with an army of ninjas and following a long fight, she was killed by Natchios.

Back in Harlem, Luke Cage was crossed paths with a group of "Cape-Killers" agents sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. that chased him to Sanctum Sanctorum, which appears to be sold out to Starbucks coffee chain. Stephen Strange lets him in and his wife Jessica Jones takes him to dinner table for him to join Iron Fist, Spider-Man and Wolverine.

Spider-Woman came in shortly with news that Captain America is in fact alive and is kept in Raft, Ryker's Island. Though Logan suggests it's a trap, Strange sends his astral form to check in and confirm what it really is. Upon learning that they kept Cap in there, they all burst through only to come face to face with Mighty Avengers.

Iron Man orders them to stand down after negating their power but they never expected Strange to show up, who cause Tony and his group to see their worst nightmares as he made an escape for his teammates. They chased New Avengers back to Sanctum and went to see Danny Rand at Rand Corporation for answers with no result.

Before stepping into trouble, Maya Lopez sent a message to Matt Murdock about how she will likely be dead when he read this and described the whole situation. Danny received that letter and rest of his team agrees to fly to Japan but not before Brother Voodoo walks in to their front door to run a ritual and confirm Tony of his suspicion.

After Voodoo clarifies to his folks that there is no one there or at least they can't find him there, Tony goes inside the Sanctum trying to reason with them knowing he is being heard. Shortly afterwards, Clint Barton showed up there and Doctor Strange tells everyone about their meeting earlier, offering him to tag along to Japan.

After stabbing her, Elektra took Maya to revive her body with dark magic to recruit into their cult but then New Avengers came crushing into their hideout along with a stranger wearing Ronin outfit. Spider-Man is sent to rescue her and soon as they got her, Doc Strange teleports them all to Fortress Yashida, home of Silver Samurai.

Not long after they arrived, Elektra tracked them back with a swarm of Hand ninjas and Luke tries to stall them by talking down. Maya was induced with drugs that Hand gave her and once it has completed its course, she turns against her friends. With help from Danny and Strange, she was able to fight the influence and strike back.

In post-Civil War era, writer Brian Michael Bendis (House of M, Secret War) and artist Leinil Francis Yu (Infinity, Secret Empire) reassembled New Avengers team with a revised roster in order to start a "Revolution" that is chronicled through issues #26-31 from the first monthly ongoing titular comic-book series from Marvel Comics.

A major take away from the story is a long-anticipated return of Clint Barton and Wanda Maximoff, followed by one of them joining a resistance of heroes that his mentor, Captain America has assembled. They tangled with The Hand and its current leader, Elektra who has been running Japanese underworld for some time now.

Battle Against The Hand

Continued from her adventure in "Secrets & Lies", life of Maya Lopez goes through some rough edges. She dies and came back only to become a threat to her friends but was eventually rescued from Hand by Doc Strange and Iron Fist. Meanwhile, Iron Man becomes Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and forms Mighty Avengers with registered heroes.

Jericho Drumm AKA Brother Voodoo and Silver Samurai made short but notable appearance. "Revolution" also reveals a major secret to these outlaw heroes and will bear huge stepping stone for oncoming crossover event "Secret Invasion" soon but before that, New Avengers will continue their adventure in "The Trust" storyline next.

Wolverine – Enemy of the State | Comics

After being brainwashed by The Hand and into the wrong hands, Wolverine goes rogue as the world's deadliest living weapon!

To investigate a kidnapping case of a close friend's son, Wolverine went to Japan when all authorities failed. During the ransom exchange, Logan was ambushed in a graveyard by a horde of undead ninjas from The Hand. While he was slicing and dicing all those rotten corpses, The Gorgon secretly observes his moves and waiting for him to tire out.

After trashing them all into pieces and shreds, he finally gets his hands on the kidnapper but before they could react, his mysterious enemy murders him by surprise attacking him with his sword. X-Men member Shadowcat visits the boy's family after they learn Logan has gone disappeared but they already has given up on finding him and their boy.

Director of S.H.I.L.E.D., Nick Fury has recruited the master assassin Elektra to locate Wolverine and bring him back. He told her about a smoked out plan to take down major super powered people by Hand and Hydra is found and Logan was on top of their choice from the list. A badly-burned up Wolvie is later found in one of S.H.E.I.L.D.'s aircraft carrier.

He regains consciousness to discover an unknown voice in his head that tells him that he is on a mission from Hydra and must oblige. A brainwashed Wolverine then goes total berserk and after killing the nurse on duty, he unleashes a mindless killing spree on board.

When power goes down all of a sudden, Elektra warns her fellow agents about his presence on board and told them not to open fire. As those men were getting butchered by him, Natchios patiently waits for her chance to get him. She attacked Wolvie on the right moment and successfully incapacitating him into submission using her twin Sai.

She then tries to reason with him while Hydra helps him to break free, causing a brief and intense fight between these two. After locking her up to drown her, Logan managed to escape the drowned ship. Later, he unwillingly starts working for the alliance of The Hand, Hydra and The Dawn of the White Light, assembled together by Baron von Strucker.

Their plan is to kill major known superheroes and turn them into their weapon by brainwashing into fighting for their own sinister cause. The entire super-human community is put under Red Alert by Nick Fury. The Fantastic Four and X-Men appear to be the primary targets of Hydra as well as Captain America, Charlie Xavier, Iron Man and Reed Richards.

Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde and Storm brief their terrified young students at X-Mansion about what's at stake and what to do in a state of emergency. Baxter Building also evacuates of all non-super-powered individuals for safety before generating a force field over. However, Wolverine was already inside by then and was waiting to prey on them.

Picking up his presence, Mister Fantastic orders Human Torch and The Thing to bring him down using maximum force but the former Weapon X operative doesn't go down. Invisible Woman got a hold on him before he escaped stealing Reed's latest invention. Next up, he leads an assault against the Stark International with an army of Hydra agents.

Upon encounter, Logan brutally gutted down Spider-Man, injuring him pretty badly while killing off a lesser-known hero named Hornet of The Slingers. Then he sneaked up on Daredevil in his home with dozens of Hand ninjas. As Matt was fighting against Logan, Elektra was being ambushed by The Gorgon on a nearby roof at the same time.

After killing off all those agents who came with her, Gorgon took her out in combat before knocking her down and kidnapped her to recruit within their ranks. Afterwards, Hydra sends Wolverine to kill the president but instead Washington, he showed up at X-Mansion to force Rachel Grey AKA Marvel Girl to do the deed by threatening innocents.

What comes after is that, she cleverly folds his plan and Logan ended up being chased by Beast, Cyclops, Colossus, Emma Frost, Gambit, Havok, Iceman, Northstar, Shadowcat and Storm into a confrontation where he kills one of his former teammate but eventually got taken down by his old pal, Steve Rogers and taken into S.H.I.L.E.D. custody.

But the member then starts disclosing a secret dark origin of their organization to her that is almost centuries old. It all started in Kyushu, Japan back in 1575, when there lived a boy named Kagenobu Yoshioka, whose father was once a brave samurai warrior. The boy is always taunted by his fellow companions that his mother is selling herself to the foreigners for their entertainment so that she could support the family and his father's legacy is a lie.

This is a truth, the boy could not handle at all and he knocked the boy off. Kagenobu then rushed to his home only to find the hot-gossip about his mother to be very true. There the boy found his mother being assaulted by a foreigner and he murdered the man in the heat of the event to protect his mother from his barbaric progression.

Seeing the bravery of her boy she took all the blame onto herself and saved him from being accused for the crime but committing suicide in the end. This tragic event however, scarred the boy’s mind for ever. He went on a journey to be a warrior and eradicate all the foreign plagues from Japan, thus avenging his mother and honor her memory.
