Avengers – Next Avengers | Comics

Commander Steve Rogers assembled The Avengers once again when Kang The Conqueror has come crushing the party from the future to seek help!

In a distant future, villainous Immortus falls onto his knees before five shadowy figures and pleading how he was there at their birth and will be present to witness them dying. Once regarded as Master of Time, he is killed by a bolt of lightning.

To assemble all heroes and re-form The Avengers once again after the fall of Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers following their Siege on Asgard, Captain Steve Rogers rallies together a group of heroes to become a band of heroes the world needs right now. All except Wonder Man does not agree to his idea and thinks of it as a big mistake.

Nevertheless, Commander Steve Rogers went on to recruit his old friend Bucky Barnes and former Winter Soldier as the new Captain America, along with long-time teammate Hawkeye, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Thor and Wolverine for a brand-new team of the Earth's mightiest heroes with former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Maria Hill as its leader.

Other members joining the party includes Beast, Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Hulkling, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Justice, Kate Bishop, Luke Cage, Mockingbird, Ms. Marvel, Patriot, Speed, Stature, Tigra, Vision, War Machine, Wasp and Wiccan with some representing other superhero teams like New Avengers, X-Men and Young Avengers respectively.

Suddenly, Kang the Conqueror arrives from future to alert them of a threat but before he even finishes announcing his arrival, Odinson quickly blasts him off the tower. To make them listen to him, Kang shows them a doomsday device that Tony Stark will build in near future that is capable of mass destruction and everyone stops immediately.

Then he explains, in a future timeline, where Ultron has ruled all by destroying all heroes and establishing his own utopia, only for the children of the Avengers to rise up to its tyrannical rule and then took over his empire but without any guidance, these gifted youngsters have ushered such ruthlessness that needs to be stopped before it's too late.

Trying to stop Ultron before the children could do so with different allies and weapons, only to fail many times over; Kang came seeking help from The Avengers but knowing they probably wouldn't trust him, leaves them to find their own way to future and told them that they would know how to look into future when their team is complete.

Wolverine suggests that he know someone who can help them with unique expertise of dimensional travel. So, they all pay a visit to Noh-Varr AKA Protector who was busy tussling with Titanium Man. Tony asks him to build a time machine so that they can go to future and stop their future offspring from being oppressing jerks.

In Avengers Tower, Noh-Varr finishes making the device and it starts projecting visions of possible futures, they see Immortus being executed by their children, the Next Avengers. Before that timestream collapses, they see an elderly Hulk, who calls himself Maestro and as they prepare to travel to future, Wonder Man comes crushing.

While his old friends are in awe seeing him getting jumpy, he explains how the superhero Civil War, Secret Invasion of the Skrulls and Osborn's Dark Reign were all the result of their own reckless actions over the years, which is why they should disband themselves for the collective good of everyone before getting blasted off by Marvel Boy.

Tony asks Noh to rebuild his machine and then a future version of Apocalypse appears through timestream with his four horsemen. Chaos breaks in all of a sudden but the crowd shortly realizes that the Eternal Mutant is here because time is broken. Iron Man tries to talk to En Sabah Nur but he and his Horsemen are then pulled to elsewhere.

Maria Hill suggests Captain America, Iron Man, Marvel Boy and Wolverine head to their apocalyptic future. She then sends Hawkeye, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Thor to New York City to cross paths with Killraven and Devil Dinosaur. Followed by an invasion of Martians, even the mighty cosmic devourer Galactus makes a surprise appearance.

Two of the greatest comics talent of the comic-book industry, writer Brian Michael Bendis (Age of Ultron, Avengers Disassembled) and artist John Romita Jr. (Avengers Vs. X-Men, World War Hulk) teamed up in 2010 for Marvel Comics to revamp one of the greatest superhero team in comics, The Avengers with a brand-new ongoing series.

Even though the first issue of the story rallied up a huge roster of superheroes together, a smaller group of them actually got involved into plot. Many of the assembled members from New Avengers, X-Men and Young Avengers team would not even appear to rest of the book but most probably reserved for near future appearances.

"Next Avengers" takes place on the fourth monthly ongoing volume Avengers comic series, collecting issues #01-06. Bendis sets up a premise on future crisis where Kang the Conqueror is troubled with next generation of young heroes and Ultron has finally succeeded in destroying all life-forms by crushing every resistance on his maniacal way.

It eventually paved the way for a new Heroic Age in Marvel Universe and would be continued with a new arc titled "Infinity Quest" up next where the team will tackle a threat greater than what they have already dealt with in a future ruined by their children and a conflict of interest among its members regarding long-kept dark secrets.

Mighty Avengers – Secret Invasion | Comics

For long, Skrulls have planned for a Secret Invasion on Earth and Nick Fury goes underground to repel their attack.

A few months ago, Nick Fury sent a team of Black Widow, Captain America, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Spider-Man and Wolverine to Latveria for a covert mission of overthrowing its terrorist government. He erased this memory off their minds when things went south and bid farewell to his friends via an LMD that was butchered by Logan.

A month later, he meets Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in disguise at a secret hideout of Mexico and spends the night together. Next day, she goes out to get something to eat and Fury follows her in cloak to see her meeting an unknown man, talking about gaining his pass codes for S.H.I.E.L.D. files before eliminating him.

Back home, Nick was waiting for her to get back and asks Fontaine about her true motives at gun point. He then shots her in the head as her body immediately returns to its original form of a shape-shifting Skrull and left it for her allies to find later.

Fury shows up at S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier to pay Maria Hill a visit and she wakes up to find him sitting next to her in surprise. He tells her to be wary of her surroundings and get a dozen of LMDs to employ them whenever she has a bad gut feeling. Nick warns her by saying that he will be keeping an eye on her before making a sudden departure.

He then meets Spider-Woman two months later to set her up as a double-agent who would report to him on Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. Giving her brief idea of an infiltration of Skrulls, Fury leaves to figure out other pieces of the puzzle.

One by one, he starts recruiting Druid, Hellfire, Phobos, Quake, Slingshot and Stonewall to form his very own team of Secret Warriors. Skrulls have sent one of their agent Criti Noll, who shape-shifted into a college student from Oxford University and started relationship with Hank Pym to replace him after he separated from Janet Van Dyne.

For years, Skrulls were unsuccessfully trying to eliminate The Sentry with numerous measures since he is one of the threats that can ruin their plan of conquering Earth. When New Avengers were formed after "Breakout" at Raft, one of them posed as Edwin Jarvis to gather information from Tony Stark and got access to all Avengers file he had.

Jarvis imposter suggests to his peers that they simply wait for Sentry to go rogue because he thinks, Bob will go insane eventually and kill everyone. Later, a Skrull ship crash landed on Savage Land only to encounter two Avenger teams but unwilling to fight Sentry, they made him ran away believing that all of this is caused by The Void.

Right after Iron Man formed a new team of Mighty Avengers, they faced the menace of Ultron, who took control over his physical form of and while working to defeat it, imposter Hank Pym learned of Tony's organic tech and they later used this info to infect Stark with an alien virus that affected his entire computer network system.

In early phase of their operation, one of their Super-Skrull agent attempt to capture Elektra but failed miserably. Then two of them ambushed her to meet the same fate and for a third one to take her down via deception. That doppelganger then kills a HYDRA representative and a leader of The Hand to take control over Japanese underworld.

Original imposter of Yellowjacket contacts Skrull-Dum-Dum Dugan to let their Queen know that they can't possibly win against humans, causing his peers to turn against him and replaced with a clone after they killed him. Meanwhile, Nick Fury readies up members of his Secret Warriors team for a "Skrull Invasion" that breaks in New York City.

Following first two storyline from Mighty Avengers monthly ongoing comic-book series from Marvel Comics in 2009, writer Brian Michael Bendis (Mighty Avengers – The Ultron Initiative, Mighty Avengers – Venom Bomb) continues his run in "Secret Invasion" tie-in through issues #12-20 that focuses on events that slowly unfolded later.

Bendis collaborated with artists Alex Maleev (Infamous Iron Man – Infamous, Infamous Iron Man – The Absolution of Doom), John Romita Jr. (Avengers Vs. X-Men, World War Hulk), Khoi Pham and Stefano Caselli (All-New Inhumans – Global Outreach, Spider-Man – Ends of the Earth) across a nine-part story for cover art and interiors.

Requiem For The Fallen

From a surprise "Breakout" at maximum security prison Raft, to superhero "Civil War" and to the tragic "Death of Captain America", everything has been carefully planned and orchestrated by Skrull Queen Veranke and her allies. They took out whomever they could and replaced them with one of their own to begin a mass infiltration.

Current plotline works more of a filler to mostly point out how Skrulls have replaced each single heroes or villains with one of their own agents from starts. Original lineup of Mighty Avengers will go through a change by next story "Earth's Mightiest" with return of a few familiar faces like a new team leader Hank Pym and Scarlet Witch.

Amazing Spider-Man – New Ways to Die | Comics

Spider-Man faces a new goblin Menace while being hunted down by Norman Osborn and his Thunderbolts.

For long, Peter Parker has been fighting crime as the Amazing Spider-Man and selling his own photos to J. Jonah Jameson at Daily Bugle. Even though JJJ was bashing his alter-ego, he was okay with the paycheck but ever since Dexter Bennett became his new boss, he has been feeling like being forced to cross a line and so, he quit the job.

Lately, he has faced a new goblin named Menace, who was vandalizing campaign ads for mayoral candidate Bill Hollister and had a run-in with him. They exchanged blows and then the hero is left under rubbles as it escaped. He sees a wave of people coming out of that building and takes some photos for the sake of a possible news story.

Since Dexter Bennett had him blacklisted at every paper in town, he goes to the office of Front Line, an independent newspaper ran by Ben Urich. They assume it to be an illegal sweatshop upon looking at the photos, even found links to it with another mayoral candidate Randall Crowne and they published a piece on him the next day.

Worried about his campaign, Crowne calls in his old friend who is the new sheriff in town, Norman Osborn and former super-villain Green Goblin. They agreed to a deal that Osborn will bring his parade of goons in Thunderbolts to apprehend the web-slinger. Plus, there is a story of a "Spider-Tracer Killer", which really makes it all easy to follow.

Bennett from DB sends Betty Brant to investigate a rumor of terminally ill patients getting miraculously healed in the homeless shelter at F.E.A.S.T. Center ran by billionaire Martin Li. She finds cancer patient and former host of Venom symbiote Eddie Brock residing there as a volunteer ever since Li has offered him a second chance at life.

To capture Spider-Man, who is now a fugitive with murder acquisitions, Osborn led a raid on the apartment of Peter Parker with Radioactive Man, Songbird and Venom from his Dark Avengers team to interrogate him about how to contact the wall-crawler as he keeps taking his photos for years and must have some means to contact him.

Even though Os-Man has no idea about Parker secretly being the Webhead he is looking for, he suspects they have some sort of working relationship. However, Normie had to leave Pete alone upon the arrival of his policeman roommate Vin Gonzales. Meanwhile, Eddie has discovered that he's been miraculously cured of his cancer.

Director Osborn sends his Thunderbolts team looking for Spider-Man over the city but the hero sneaks into his lair to confront the madman after taking down his security officials and webbing up Bullseye. When he hears Mac Gargan heading to F.E.A.S.T. Center looking for him, Spidey immediately rushes after the maniac to save Aunt May.

Gargan ran into Brock there and the latter suddenly transforms into Anti-Venom in response to the presence of a Venom symbiote nearby when it tried to bond with him again. Brock starts attacking both Venom and Spidey at the same time but ultimately concentrating on the former to cure him off his symbiote, considering it a plague on humanity.

Brock then teams up with the wall-crawler to take down rest of the Thunderbolts, who were eagerly waiting to get a piece of them. From a nearby roof, Osborn was observing the fight and then has a run-in with Menace, who comes at him out of nowhere but the former goblin quickly turn things around into his favor and throw off the attacker.

He then calls of Songbird and the other with the de-powered Gargan and back at Oscorp, he produces a counter formula using Anti-Venom's white symbiote substance. He also reverse engineered a targeting system using Peter Parker's camera from the roof for his henchmen to have a lock on Spider-Man's chest and shoot him down.

While sorting out personal issues regarding his girlfriend Lily Hollister and her father Bill being hospitalized after an attack from Menace, Harry Osborn finds out that his father has not changed to normal at all and is back in his goblin persona. Each with their own goal in mind, Anti-Venom and Spider-Man teams up to take the fight to enemy.

"New Ways to Die" is a six part comic-book storyline that took place in Amazing Spider-Man monthly ongoing series from Marvel Comics in 2008, collecting issues #568-573. Writer Dan Slott (She-Hulk, Silver Surfer) and Mark Waid (Daredevil, Fantastic Four) collaborated with artist John Romita Jr. (Avengers Vs. X-Men, World War Hulk) on this one.

Eddie Brock is no longer Venom and earlier, he was diagnosed with cancer (Spectacular Spider-Man – The Hunger). It happened because of his long exposure to the symbiote and it then chose former Scorpion, Mac Gargan as the newest host. Eddie has become Anti-Venom, latest member to the symbiote-family and an arch-enemy to the black suit.

The Osborn Supremacy

As the events of "One More Day" takes effect, neither Brock nor Osborn knows who Spidey is anymore and in a situation like he is right now where almost everyone wants him dead, it is one of the blessings Peter counts on. Now, one of them chases him and the other becomes a temporary ally who offers a helping hand against an awful odd.

Following his transformation, Eddie became more powerful than ever and at the same time, became friendlier than his usual "Lethal Protector" style. Though Martin Li remained inert for this plot, he may have larger plans to execute in future as Mister Negative. Osborn will return with another of his scheme in the next arc "American Son".
