Justice League Dark – The Last Age of Magic | Comics

Wonder Woman rallies up Detective Chimp, Man-Bat, Swamp Thing and Zatanna to reform Justice League Dark to stop The Otherkind.

During one of her stage shows, Zatanna accidentally unleashes a bunch of mystical creatures from her hat that started attacking people in audience and she was able to avert a major crisis only for the timely intervention of Wonder Woman. Diana came checking on her for not returning her calls ever since they came back from Colu.

Zatanna tries to burn them with her spell but it fires back at her and though it appears that magic is broken, she denies joining Diana. Shortly afterwards, when she came to attend an emergency meeting at Wintersgate Manor, John Constantine came to see her about that incident prior and suggested that she gets help.

Inside the manor, Jason Blood arranged a meeting of prominent magic users like Klarion the Witch Boy, Madame Xanadu and Morgaine le Fey to discuss an oncoming change. As he explains how a tear in Source Wall allowed access to some entity to step into this universe, Zee notices a small plant is eavesdropping on them.

Following its trail, she reaches to Tree of Wonder to find Swamp Thing sitting next to it and starts lashing out at him for doing absolutely nothing being a guardian of green. He believes keeping this problem in shadows like Jason Blood is not a good idea nor is forming Justice League Dark to punch it into light is the correct way.

Justice League Dark – The Last Age of Magic | Comics

Failing to find answers, Zatanna wished to talk to Tree of Wonder and she has a chance to see spirit of her deceased father Zatara who warns her of The Otherkind and arrival of Upside-Down Man. Showing her a glimpse of what is coming, he reveals that one of them is powerful enough to fight back this crisis and urges her to find them.

Diana sits disappointed at Oblivion Bar beside Detective Chimp, wondering why every magical hero she approached to join her team has declined her so far. In the wake of a series of gruesome death of ordinary magic users lately, Wonder Woman realizes some powerful force is at work here and so, she kept looking for recruits.

Bobo also expresses his dilemma of being new "Nightmaster" for possession of Sword of Night, which makes him a defender of magical realm Myrra, now that his friend Jame Rook is no more. He offers his help investigating her murder mystery and they head to Hall of Justice, where Bobo Chimpanzee met former Batman villain, Man-Bat.

Diana recruited Kirk Langstrom to study the mutated cadavers from A.R.G.U.S. and suddenly, they start coming back to life. She told Langstrom to fly out with Bobo immediately but cavalry arrived in form of Swamp Thing and Zatanna. After regrouping, Zee suggests that they go visit Tower of Fate seeking answers from Doctor Fate.

Alec Holland stayed outside and Constantine came to see him regarding an approaching danger that they both feel coming. Once inside, Zatanna wishes to speak to original lord of order, Nabu and Fate agrees to arrange that but kept Bobo and Kirk out.

Langstrom accidentally breaks an artifact that gives away a dark secret about Fate which Diana and Zee feels too. Only then, they realize that it was Nabu himself who was posing as Kent all along. He admits of summoning The Otherkind to this world before leaving them in dark, from which crawls out the dreaded Upside-Down Man.

Justice League Dark – The Last Age of Magic

Following major DC Rebirth events like "Dark Nights – Metal" and "Justice League – No Justice", a new incarnation of Justice League Dark is formed by Wonder Woman, which kick-starts from a six-part storyline titled "The Last Age of Magic" from second monthly ongoing volume of the titular comic-book series by DC Comics in 2019.

To rework it a new, writer James Tynion IV (Detective Comics – Rise of the Batmen, Detective Comics – The Victim Syndicate) and artist Álvaro Martínez (Detective Comics – A Lonely Place of Living, Detective Comics – Deus Ex Machina) were brought on board to create a fresh plotline that collects issues #01-03 and #05-07 from the series.

What Lurks Within Dark?

After returning back to Earth from fighting Omega Titans on Colu recently, Diana of Themyscira starts looking for magical heroes she knew to prepare a team for an upcoming magic war. She eventually ended up gathering Detective Chimp, John Constantine, Man-Bat, Swamp Thing and her former teammate from Team Wonder, Zatanna.

In a quest to restore balance in magical sphere, they face unknown threat such as an extra-dimensional being known as Upside-Down Man. Though JL Dark was able to fend off The Otherkind for now, there are greater menaces lurking within shadows around then and more of that will be explored in "Lords of Order" story arc up next.

Superman – Multiplicity | Comics

When Supermen from across the Multiverse start vanishing without a trace, the Man of Steel of Prime Earth gets involved.

Seeing plant lives around Smith farm area dying as nearby ponds and streams are all being drained unnaturally, Superman flies to a nearby river and .quickly determines after some observation that this is no drought.

He came across a being from below ground known as Swamp Thing, who makes his presence known and states after seeing Superman at the first glance that the latter doesn't belong here, on this plane of reality. After their initial introduction, Clark calls him by the name of Dr. Alec Holland, who also points out an obvious that the former is not a Man of Steel from this world.

Because of his unique power of elemental control, Dr. Holland sensed an anomaly within him and found Clark in Hamilton County. Holland believes that a disturbance in "The Green" is what brought him here and as Superman assures he means no harm.

When he placed his hand on Swamp Thing, it released Kryptonian blue energy, overwhelming Holland. As a result of this misunderstanding, they get into a fight where Swamp Thing sees his memories of New Earth and Mister Oz visiting him earlier. Then he advises Clark not to consider himself as an outsider in this world and peacefully parts away.

Superman – Multiplicity | Comics

The other night, when Clark was driving his home to Hamilton County, he stumbles onto a badly beaten Superman of Earth-30 (Red Son), who was being chased by the Gatherers. Even though Clark was not on their list, they fought back these "Gatherers" together, who came following the Soviet Superman here.

As he retreated from their clutches, he heard Kenan Kong is next on their list. At that moment, Justice League Incarnate arrives to the scene from future and Superman of Earth-23 meets Superman of New Earth.

The JLI briefly explains to him what's happening around here before they all go and try to help Kenan Kong in Henan Province but failed to save him. In the House of Heroes, Justice League Incarnate was explaining the entire situation to Superman, while the Gatherers were busy abducting other Supermen from different worlds for their master, Prophecy.

So, they go to every other worlds to talk to each Superman counterpart and assemble them all on Ultima Thule; a plane outside space and time. They collectively decide to lure their enemy out using their combined power and then face him together.

However, Superman teleports others away to save them at the final moment and faces the being alone in space-time continuum. Even though Prophecy detects Superman as an anomaly, he is immediately drained off his power and rendered weak.

Still, he assures the other powerless captive brethren that he has one trick left. The monstrous entity believes that a great catastrophe is on the horizon and if he can collect the power of all the Superman of the Multiverse, he might have a fighting chance against that.

Superman – Multiplicity

The era of DC Rebirth reigns supreme as Superman returns with his third storyline in "Multiplicity", collecting first annual issue and issues #14-17 from fourth monthly ongoing volume of Superman comic-books in 2017.

So, DC Comics hooked up writer Peter Tomasi (Black Adam – The Dark Age, Forever Evil – Arkham War) and artist Patrick Gleason (Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro Corps War) to came up with the plot for this story while artists Clay Mann (Dark Reign – Elektra, Magneto – Not a Hero), Ed Benes (Artemis – Requiem, Blackest Night – Titans), Ivan Reis (Blackest Night, Infinite Crisis), Jorge Jiménez (Earth 2 – Society, Earth 2 – World's End), Tony Daniel (Deathstroke – New 52, Justice League – New 52) as well as various other lend hands for illustration.

Last Superman Standing

The opening one-part story features Swamp Thing who took a peak at Supermen's recent adventures; like his fight with Eradicator on moon (Son of Superman), joining the Justice League of Prime Earth (The Extinction Machines), reunion with The Trinity to defeat Mongul (Better Together) and battle with a Kryptonian deformity known as Doomsday in Metropolis alongside Lex Luthor (Path of Doom).

Then all Supermen of Multiverse goes against a common threat and Mister Oz made special appearance. Next up, there is a crossover of Action Comics and Superman series titled "Superman Reborn" that will delve more into the mysteries we are being teased about since DC Rebirth.

As she dealt with the menace of First Born, Diana has allowed her Amazonian "brothers" who used to work for Hephaestus into Themyscira. This worries her sisters and led many of them to question her judgment, most prominently by Derinoe, who believes that Diana is not a worthy heir of Hippolyta and thus, attempts to replace her with a worthy one. Before she could defend her actions, Wonder Woman is called by Justice League for an emergency. It appears that the entire populace of a village has vanished and during her investigation, she met with Swamp Thing and attacked him for suspecting him responsible but then talked down by Aquaman. She admits that she is troubled with her duty as a Queen, a member of Justice League and now as the God of War!

A part of being Pantheon of Olympians and being involved in the affairs of her brothers have kept her so busy that she barely has time for her. When returned to Paradise Island, Diana is summoned by the council of Amazons to choose between her duties as a Queen or a savior of humanity. Meanwhile, Derinoe convinces her daughter to give up her own child to a powerful sorceress for a ritual that will forge the perfect Amazon from clay. Therefore, young Donna Troy is born to be a successor of Hippolyta's throne by defeating Wonder Woman. But before they could even face each other in battle, Derinoe's hatred leads Troy to do something that will infuriate the Amazon Queen. Also, an unexpected heart-breaking bad news waits for Diana that will torn her forever.

Since the beginning of The New 52, things have escalated from the "Blood" storyline to the current status quo of Wonder Woman as she is now the God of War! DC Comics brings the team of writer Meredith Finch (Grimm Fairy Tales, Grimm Fairy Tales – Tales from Oz) and artist David Finch (Brightest Day, Forever Evil) to usher a new chapter of Wonder Woman, which also marks the first appearance of Donna Troy on Prime Earth.
