Avengers – War of The Vampires | Comics

Blade the Vampire Hunter joins Avengers to stop mysterious Shadow Colonel from starting an undead Civil War.

After reforming The Avengers lately, Black Panther was elected as new chairperson and he also started gathering people for Agents of Wakanda as a support crew. One of his newest recruits, original Wasp goes to Transylvania for rescuing legendary vampire hunter Blade and Morbius the Living Vampire, with some bloodsuckers on pursuit.

An unlikely help came in time as Colonel John Jameson AKA Man-Wolf, who assisted them on space. Sensing an impending Civil War of vampires, King T'Challa calls in a meeting with his teammates and filled them in on what he knew. To fight off a new faction among them opposing Dracula, he invites Blade to join his team.

Shortly afterwards, Castle Dracula came under heavy attack by an unknown vampire warrior named Shadow Colonel and his Legion of the Unliving. They ruthlessly scoured through every corners and corridors before killing all of its guards and inhabitants in search for Lord of the Damned but came to find his coffin already empty.

Disappearance of Vlad Tepes has stirred many factions of undead race to go rabidly running amok. One of these groups ran into Blade and Captain Marvel when they attempted to hijack a Roxxon aircraft. Black Panther and Iron Man had to face another horde of them at The Great Mound, who came looking to get their hands on Vibranium.

She-Hulk and Ghost Rider are sent to Monster Metropolis in Manhattan, where Mephisto pays a surprise visit to a clueless Robbie Reyes. Captain America and Thor visits Transylvania to save local villagers from being slaughtered by another rogue crowd of vampires but soon, they ended up running to see Shadow Colonel arrive there.

He came to Avengers Mountain with his talking dog Sarge and is confronted by Blade for interrogation. In below quarters, Sarge triggers Robbie to transform into a monstrous form by invoking name of demon masters from Ghost Rider legacy. Now totally out of control, he drives their enemies out of there and goes AWOL with them.

At Ukrainian border, Winter Guard member Darkstar and Vanguard astonishingly watches Vlad Dracula to approach them seeking political asylum in Russia. Looking for their rogue Rider, The Avengers locates the lord of the damned in a Federal Penal Colony where Tony Stark pays him a secret visit but got busy controlling a sudden prison riot.

Shadow Colonel and his new Legion then arrive at Madripoor to wipe out a group of peaceful vampires. After Baroness Blood, Carpathian, Rat Bomber and Snowsnake eliminate all adults, Ghost Rider is ordered to burn down a pack of their children hidden in a safe room but that task seemed to be too much even for a monster from Hell.

Robbie is punished for his disobedience with more chanting but then his Avenger buddies shows up out of nowhere. Stuck into highways of Hell deep beneath his own psyche, he desperately tries to break free. Meanwhile, his teammate Carol Danvers, Odinson and Steve Rogers attempts to get him out of this madness.

As they struggle hard to get Robbie back on his rocker, Black Panther teams up with She-Hulk to deal with rest of Legion members Carpathian and Snowsnake. Blade decides to draw attention of Shadow Colonel by shooting at his devil dog Sarge and engages him in a final confrontation to put an end to a looming Civil War among vampires.

Avengers – World Tour | Comics

A new Avengers team is officially formed only to fight against a vengeful Namor and his Defenders of the Deep?

A simple reunion of Captain America, Iron Man and Thor after a long time has turned into a reformation of The Avengers when Asgardian God of Mischief, Loki led an invasion of Dark Celestials on Earth, leading Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider and She-Hulk to band together in an attempt to save the world.

Upon taking down the Final Host of Dark Celestials, they were given a new headquarters within corpse of Alpha Celestial Progenitor by First Celestial Host. Robbie Reyes gets acquainted with Steve Rogers while Strange was scanning Jen Walters to know more about her recent changes and Odinson was having a hard time finding washroom.

Meanwhile, members of Atlantean army invade a Roxxon Energy Corporation whaling ship only to be shot down immediately and then hung their bodies like trophies. This evidently didn't sit very well with Namor the Sub-Mariner, who came retaliating in full rage shortly afterwards and took them with him back in Atlantis to execute then.

During a personal skirmish between Stingray and Tiger Shark that took them to undersea realm, he approached them to either join him or leave forever. Then an attempt from the former to talk it out caused Namor to lose his cool to savagely beat him down before ordering his sea minions to eat him alive, causing Shark to join his cause.

Tony Stark invites Col. Carol Danvers to join their newly assembled team that has just voted King T'Challa as its new chairperson. In their first meeting, a call to emergency has taken The Avengers to mid-Atlantic ridge where they fight Atlantean army before meeting and try to convince King Namor to give his prisoners back to them.

He assembled a group called Defenders of the Deep with former criminals and psychopaths to inflict his rage on surface dwellers. They attack peaceful researchers of Hydropolis at south pacific and are faced by The Avengers once again. A battle suddenly escalates among them trying to save civilians and it only gets worse from there.

Soon, a newly reformed Winter Guard arrives to take charge of current situation with Namor and his Defenders. An unlikely alliance was formed between two teams to fight against forces of Atlantis but then got dwindled for silly reasons like ego of two Russian gods, which allowed Namor to retreat the scene with his accomplices.

As things were about to get heated up between Avengers and Winter Guard for letting Defenders of the Deep getaway, Red Widow calls for a withdrawal and led her comrades back to Moscow on order of their superiors. This leaves Earth's mightiest heroes to assemble and help damage control of abandoned research base.

Earlier, Cap had a brief meeting with General Thunderbolt Ross where he made it clear that he and his team don't work for any country. Unwilling to get into political argument, Steve leaves and Ross called in someone known as The Agent. It is revealed to be Agent Phil Coulson, who came along with Squadron Supreme of America.

Elsewhere on far reaches of space, Loki was about to be judged by a group of Celestials when he encounters an alternate reality Wolverine there. Claiming to know what the trickster god was up to and revealing his bonding with Phoenix Force, Logan saves him from his captors and set him free to play his part in upcoming near future.

Also, a flashback to past peeks into origin of first Ghost Rider from prehistoric era when he came to become a spirit of vengeance riding a flaming mammoth and fought a dreaded nemesis before eventually joining Avengers of 1,000,000 BC.

Odin proposes a toast before they all face their doom together but Lady Phoenix proposes to kill whatever it is.

Apparently, these Stone Age Avengers have already put one of them down and now there is a group of Celestials upon them. As the female living weapon asks if there is any hope for survival, Agamotto remains clueless while the others all charge into battle.

Today, Odinson, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark reunite after a long time to celebrate and Steve couldn't help but hinting at reassembling The Avengers, which Tony is against of completely. Thor however agrees to Steve saying, they are destined to do this and then suddenly Tony's new A.I. assistant alerts him of a massive energy fluctuations.

In South Africa, Black Panther is aided by Doctor Strange in a cave investigating the remains of two dead archaeologists. Robbie Reyes is home with his brother Gabe and hasn't been feeling good lately as he is still trying to figure out his Ghost Rider persona. After her last encounter with The Leader, Jennifer Walters is trying her best not to turn into She-Hulk again when a pervert kept annoying her when she was walking alone on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

A huge warp-hole appears near the low-orbit space station of Alpha Flight and Captain Marvel sees a Celestial hand coming out that causes her to sound every global alarm. Steve, Thor and Tony head towards the site and see something huge fall off the sky.

A journey to the center of the Earth takes Black Panther and Doctor Strange to a place full of egg-like object lying dormant. Meanwhile, Robbie was recalling his encounter with Starbrand when suddenly; he sees a swarm of bug-like creatures coming out of ground and turns into Ghost Rider. Strange and T'Challa faces the same horde at the same time.

What came out of the warp-hole and dropped into Hudson River is a fallen Celestial and The Avengers sees Col. Carol Danvers standing beside it. Tony asks her if she had killed it but she says it was already dead when it came and there are at least hundreds more coming. Cap shouts their iconic battle-cry seeing another group of Celestials coming.

Captain America, Iron Man and Thor charges at this group of The Final Host with everything they have. Jen Walters finds herself near the dead Space God but is immediately attacked by a swarm that caused her to turn into She-Hulk and squish the bugs. She and Robbie Reyes bumped into each other and invoke a fight before getting busy with the bugs.

Captain Marvel plans to hurl The Final Host into sun using her omega-level warp grenades and Cap even pulls off a desperate stunt to eradicate this threat but them all are suddenly restrained by the God of Mischief, Loki. He has allied himself with the dark Celestials and after kidnapping Cap, he left The Avengers dealing with the locust horde.

Avengers – The Final Host

To begin with a freah-start, Marvel Comics hired comic-book writer Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thanos Rising) in 2018 to set a grand plot which will expand to the past, present and future of The Avengers, which takes place on the eighth ongoing volume of the series from issues #01-06. The arc goes back and forth to connect lose knots to bigger secrets.

He was assisted by artists Ed McGuinness (Avengers – X-Sanction, Superman – Emperor Joker), Paco Medina (New X-Men – Mercury Falling, New X-Men – Nimrod) and Sara Pichelli (Spider-Men, Spider-Men II). Also, David Marquez (Defenders – Kingpins of New York, Defenders – Diamonds Are Forever) worked on a few variants.

Still After Avengers

Although the Dark Celestials were never a Thanos-level threat to begin with, the heroes were still challenged like never before and the next arc promises to be more action-packed. Odin and his Stone Age Avengers have much starting secrets for the heroes to know. Despite The Eternals all perishing during the story, Marvel will probably revive them in future.

Tony slipping into coma after fighting with Carol Danvers during Civil War II, Cap turning into an agent of Hydra from Secret Empire and events of The Unworthy Thor were all referenced as a callback to all three of them to come together once again. "Jen Walters Must Die" storyline from She-Hulk monthly series hinted to her issues as well.

Civil War II | Comics

Because of Black Bolt detonating a Terrigen Bomb during the time Thanos came to invade New Attilan looking for his son (Infinity), a new generation of Inhumans called NuHumans is introduced to the world. Among them was Ulysses Cain, a NuHuman with near-accurate precognitive abilities, who prophesied of an upcoming dystopian future. This came in handy when The Avengers successfully stopped an invasion of a Celestial Destructor in Earth, with help from A-Force, Inhumans, The Ultimates and X-Men.

Doctor Strange and the combined effort of the magic wielders were able to send the Celestial back to its own dimension. As the heroes learned about Ulysses at the celebratory party of their victory, Captain Marvel wanted to recruit him to The Ultimates, whereas Iron Man argues over the logic of trying to stop something before it even takes place. However, in an attempt to apprehend Thanos according to Ulysses' visions, Carol Danvers and her team ambushed The Mad Titan, resulting in the death of War Machine and She-Hulk ended up in coma.

An infuriated Tony Stark then kidnaps Ulysses from New Attilan to further study the true nature of his powers, leading Tony into conflict with Medusa, Crystal and Karnak of The Inhumans. When Black Panther deduced that Karnak is about to destroy the Stark Tower in retaliation, the combined force of The Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Ultimates rushed to the spot to stop him. As Tony runs tests on him, Ulysses projected another vision regarding The Hulk, as he will go into a rampage and kill The Avengers.

Carol approaches a de-powered Bruce Banner in his secret base to come out and cooperate but Hawkeye shoots him dead with an arrow after Beast confirms of Banner is experimenting to regain his powers. Tony show to Captain America, Captain Marvel and Medusa that Ulysses' visions are actually probabilities of possible future, not absolute truth and he revealed it to the world. Carol still refuses to stop using Ulysses' visions to stop possible world-ending threats.

However, things got a bit escalated when she arrested a citizen named Alison Green, believed to be an agent of Hydra based on a prediction Ulysses made but was unable to prove her of any guilt. When Tony got her out of custody, Carol attempts to arrest Tony Stark and he brought over the team of All-New X-Men and The Avengers to confront her. Then Alpha Flight and Guardians of the Galaxy joins Carol against Tony and then Ulysses has a vision of Miles Morales killing Steve Rogers.

Where the previous conflict centers around Captain America and Iron Man parted ways on moral standpoint of a government decision, this time Tony Stark stands ground for something that he believes against the current Captain Marvel; Carol Danvers. Their disagreement turned into a clash when Tony's best friend James Rhodes died in the line of duty and he believed Carol was the one responsible for Rhodey being killed in the first place. Not only the event spawned many tie-in limited series and opening for new potential storylines, it also came in par to 2016's superhero movie Captain America – Civil War from Marvel Studios.

Black Panther – A Nation Under Our Feet | Comics

Things are not like they once were for King T'Challa of Wakanda as his nation has been ravaged by Atlantean Prince Namor during Avengers/X-Men War, there was an invasion of The Black Order which caused a huge loss of life (Infinity) and then Incursion of Worlds happened, which almost saw end of everything (Secret Wars). As his own people cast him out for his failure, his loyal Dora Milaje had left him too. T'Challa's sister Shuri took his place momentarily but after her fight with Cabal, she was stuck in a coma-like stasis.

This state of hers forced T'Challa to become King of Wakanda once again and he returned as Black Panther as well. At the Great Mound, he goes to respond to a situation regarding workers and tries to inspire Vibranium miners working there but he sees hate in their eyes as someone was manipulated them from within. Seeing the person responsible for this chaos, he gives chase but she vanishes after turning the crowd against their King. Seemed overwhelmed at first, T'Challa deals with them and by then her scent gone stale.

On the Golden City of Wakanda, Aneka, former captain of Dora Milaje is given a death sentence by Queen Mother for killing a chieftain for his lechery on helpless females of his village to which her lover Ayo tries to defend her by trying to justify Aneka's actions by explaining that situation. She even showed footage of that event to appeal for sparing her life as she did what was demanded by honor. However, the Queen Mother remains adamant in her decision stating it is her duty to make the tough but right decisions here.

T'Challa returns home and shares concern about his recent encounter with a soul-stalker to Queen Ramonda. When discussed about the incident that took place at Great Mound with council of tribal of elders, T'Challa is informed about his deceiver's identity. It is revealed that she is an enhanced named Zenzi, who was once a captive of Killmonger, who barely escaped by turning her captors against each other. T'Challa senses a deep conspiracy of some superhuman terrorist group trying to cause a violent uprising among his people.

Zenzi is currently working with Tetu; leader of a new Wakandan rebel movement called The People and a shaman with powers to manipulate forces of nature around him. Tracking her down on Nigandan Border Region, Black Panther reaches to confront her after trashing many of Nigandan Army soldiers. While he goes to confront her, T'Challa was overwhelmed by the images of Shuri cast by Zenzi that keep haunting him for failing to save his sister. He was finally able to overcome the effects but the deceiver was gone.

Meanwhile, Aneka is rescued by her lover Ayo in the Midnight Angels suit from her cells and together, they start vigilance on every oppressor who abuses helpless women. They start by rescuing a group of hostage women from a compound in Northern Wakanda by killing all bandits. When Aneka and Ayo was away, White Gorilla Army and ravaged whatever left there. In retaliation, Aneka lured out their leader Lord Mandla AKA Man-Ape to a distant cave where the Midnight Angels were waiting for him and killed him.

Despite all of his best efforts, T'Challa fails to bring back his sister from her "living death" state. Inside her construct of amber, Shuri's soul eventually transcended to a plane called The Djalia, where she was guided by an apparent spirit of Ramonda. Tetu's rebellion of The People plans a suicide bombing with help from Ezekiel Stane, which injured Queen Ramonda. To tackle these overwhelming threats from the inside of his nation and beyond, Black Panther summons help from his friends at The Crew, consisting Luke Cage, Manifold, Misty Knight and Storm.

In past, the sacred land of Wakanda has been attacked by Latverian tyrant Doctor Doom (Doomwar), a Devourer of Totems; Morlun (The Deadliest of The Species) and even The Mad Titan; Thanos but it always stood up at its majestic feet and now Marvel Comics picks National Book Award winning writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and sensational artist Brian Stelfreeze to re-invent Black Panther in all his Wakandan glory for an all-new age of readers. The storyline "A Nation Under Our Feet", contains issues #01-12 from sixth monthly ongoing volume of Black Panther and divided into three separate books.

Sword For Lions

The King of Wakanda faces trouble not from the outside world but from within his own nation, while he also struggles with her sister being trapped in a state between the living and the dead. For long, he has already been in conflict with his inner self about the actions he took during "Time Runs Out" with his allies in The Illuminati. Needles to say that "A Nation Under Our Feet" story arc is primarily focused with the thought of introducing new readers of the series to prepare themselves for 2018's Black Panther movie from Marvel Cinematic Universe and create an appeal to them for this character.
