Super Sons – Parent Trap | Comics

Robin’s past finally revealed to Superboy in a meeting with Talia al Ghul, before Kid Amazo returns to tear the Super Sons apart.

When his dad Superman leaves for a Justice League-level emergency and reporter mom Lois Lane goes Metropolis to investigate on an article for Daily Planet, young superhero Jon Kent is left behind with Damian Wayne, who lands on the school ground of West-Reeve by their trusted family butler Alfred Pennyworth.

Unbeknownst to Damian, his mother Talia al Ghul was secretly keeping an eye on him from nearby and meets him during lunch period only to freak out his friend Superboy by holding her own son with a sword on his throat. She asks him to come with her but Robin declines her offer after freeing himself.

The Super Sons heads to Gotham City and encounters members from League of Assassins before finding out that Talia was hired to kill Lois. Jon and Damian then start scouring through the city to find their mothers to stop one from killing the other.

The shot fired by Talia from a rooftop was timely deflected by Jon while Robin confronts his mother about this contract she took and engages her. Jon would come across Lois on street after taking down a few of the ninjas and Damian would force his mother to leave town after besting her in combat.

Two researchers working at LexCorp walks into a room for checking on inventory before Lex Luthor arrives only to discover that the synthetic suit made of Amazo Virus is missing from containment and as the Super Sons were planning for their patrolling schedule for the night on Fortress of Attitude, Kid Amazo suddenly breaks in.

Sending Robin to look for rebreathers, Superboy tackles their former enemy until the villain is hit by an escape pod of theirs. Together, they made an attempt to reach out to surface for seeking help but Jon is grabbed by the leg at the last minute and pulled underwater.

Before Damian could ran out of air, Cyborg came out of nowhere at his rescue and band together looking for Kid Amazo instead of taking him back home. An unconscious Jon is dragged by the suit to an oil rig and discloses how it escaped using Reggie Meyer.

Since the boy was in a weakened condition when bonded, there are high chances of him being dead right now, because his powers were burned out and now it needs an external energy source to feed on. To absorb organic power from new source, he has acquired Batman, Flash, Superman and Wonder Woman.

After draining the entire League, the suit wanted Jon as a host who could survive and filter it to power the armor. Though resistant, he couldn't free his father and friends or even last too long before help could arrive but when it did, he immediately freed himself from captivity.

Since the suit has tapped into the power of Flash, it started to give even Cyborg a hard time. With no chance to seemingly win against the villain, Robin eventually came up with a plan which involves Victor Stone losing to Kid Amazo as a part of gamble he planned.

Super Sons – Parent Trap

The new DC Comics monthly ongoing Super Sons comic-book series has completed its third story arc "Parent Trap" in issues # #13-16 and Annual #1. Series regular writer Peter Tomasi (Batman – Arkham Knight, Forever Evil – Arkham War) returned to complete the plot that apparently draws the ending for the series for now.

Group of artists consisting Carlo Barberi (Deadpool – Suicide Kings, Ororo – Before the Storm), Jorge Jiménez (Superman – The Final Days of Superman, Superman – Trials of the Super Sons) and Paul Pelletier (Fall of the Hulks, War of Kings) provided arts for the story. This arc was preceded by the events of "When I Grow Up" and "Planet of the Capes", which set up the premises.

End of Innocence

The killer queen who used to run League of Assassins, Talia al Ghul pays a surprise visit to her son Damian with a contract to kill Lois Lane. However, the ongoing Leviathan civil war is what brought her here even though her intentions were never clarified at any point of the encounter (The Silencer – Code of Honor).

Then former Amazo Project came back to life next, looking for revenge by taking down the biggest players of world's greatest superhero team. Except for Aquaman and Green Lantern, almost every core-member of the Justice League showed up in the story, not to save the day but to be saved instead.

Deadpool – Suicide Kings | Comics

Wade Wilson is mostly known as the mercenary Deadpool who has quite a reputation in the business even though he was formerly recruited to the Weapon X program and was rejected as a failure. His insanity has no match till date and he is entitled as "The Merc With a Mouth" for the most obvious reasons. Like all the mercs, Deadpool likes to get paid and so he follows an ad that he saw declaring a fat prize for a hired gun.

He shows up there to find out three other mercs already waiting there for their audition. As one of them starts conversation with him it instantly turns out to be an all-out killing contest. Of course standing victorious, Deadpool demands the presence of his employer.

The person then reveals him to be the son of rubber magnate John O'Shea, Conrad O'Shea who is quite impressed with Wade’s serious black ops ninja killing action and had placed that ad to get the best merc out there. Conrad is debted to a bad-ass bookie who will kill his entire family if he fails to pay up and he requests Deadpool to kill the bookie for him to get rid of the trouble.

Wade takes the job anyway without knowing that his hit was actually, Tombstone. Soon, he was caught on camera near a building explosion that looked like a major terrorist activity on the news. This however, draws the attention of the dangerous vigilante The Punisher who starts chasing Deadpool’s tail. The Man Without Fear and the friendly neighbourhood wall-crawler shows up to help.

Deadpool | Comics

Deadpool was a Merc with a Mouth, subjected to a rogue experiment at Weapon X that gives him accelerated healing powers and insanity.

Most of his early life is unknown and when it comes to remember his own past he also cannot recall almost any of it. Whatever memories he still has are all very conflicting. At one instance it is what he recalls to be raised by a single mother who was very abusive to him and then in another, he remembers losing her when he was only five.

That is what he believes to be the reason why he grew up to be a criminal but it turns out later that, he left home in an early age and his parents were still living in the same house they had in Canada. When he came back to that place, Wade Wilson could not recognize his room which his parents kept the same.

He joined U.S. Army Special Forces but had a hard time following orders, so he was kicked out soon. He is rolled into a CIA-sponsored group of mercenary assassins to kill certain targets that need not to live. These are the events that all took place before he was taken to Department K, meet Wolverine or even becoming the anti-hero Deadpool.

Whatever weird stuff Wade did back then is less known but he travelled to Morocco and then Japan to be hired by a Yakuza crime boss. He was sent to get into a rival sumo-wrestling ring of his boss but ended up falling for Sazae, the young daughter of Oyakata, who was training him in wrestling for three years.

As the time came when his employer told him to kill his expert sumo wrestler mentor, Wilson backed out of this assignment that he claims to be the first time in his life. Sazae was left heartbroken after this and Wade relocated to U.S. he came to meet a mutant teenage prostitute Vanessa Carlysle, whom he would fall in love with soon.

Then he was hired to kill a British Government operative named Blind Al, who escaped before he could kill her. To get to him, Vanessa was targeted by his new employer but was saved by Zoe Culloden of Landau, Luckman, & Lake. They believed Wade was some sort of messiah who is going to prevent an oncoming cosmic threat.

Weapon X
Wade Wilson found out that he has been diagnosed with cancer and then broke up with Vanessa, so she could live a normal life instead of pinned with him. He even gave up on chemo treatments as he did not wished to prolong the inevitable. Then Department K contacted him with an offer to become a test subject for one of their projects.

He volunteered for the project and is given former Weapon X operative, Wolverine’s rapid healing factor to survive their experiments. Wade found himself in a field mission alongside other operatives Kane, Sluggo and Slayback. At one point, even Vanessa joined the team as mutant shape-shifter Copycat when her abilities started manifesting.

Later Wilson realized that his healing power is failing, thus the cancer came back and horribly deformed his flesh. Considering him a failure, Weapon X rejected him and sent him to one of their secret facility Hospice. There, every patient ends up being experimental test-subjects for Doctor Killebrew and his sadistic assistant Ajax.

Killebrew and Ajax are primarily responsible for turning Wade Wilson into psychotic super-merceneray Deadpool he'd become later. In Hospice, patients used to bet in a "deadpool" for how long they each going to last there. While suffering at the hands of evil geneticist Killebrew, he eventually met cosmic entity Death and formed a romantic relation.

He keeps on taunting Ajax by calling his real name Francis all the time, which earned him the respect of his fellow patients but angered the sadistic assistant. To teach Wade a lesson, Ajax lobotomized his close friend Worm, whom he was forced to kill and end his suffering. Killebrew had a rule that if any of his patients kill another should be executed and so, Francis tore the heart out of Wilson before leaving him for dead.

His thirst for vengeance was so strong that it eventually jump-started his healing factor once again to save his life by regenerating his heart but unfortunately couldn't cure his scars. Nevertheless, Wade quickly rushed out to find Ajax after beating up all the guards in his way and he finally got to and shot his enemy before leaving him to die.

Merc with a Mouth
Upon leaving Hospice, Deadpool became an enforcer for Hammerhead before going back to being a freelance mercenary. He was hired by Kingpin and then tangled with his old pal Logan, when he was a spy for the Canadian government. Wade eventually found Blind Al and keep her captive but he killed anyone who ever tried to help her escape.

Years later, he returns to Hospice once again looking for a way to get to Doctor Killebrew and government has assigned Doctor Walter Langkowski to treat him this time, who also happens to be Canada’s super-team Alpha Flight member Sasquatch but Wade abandons this venture as well. Around this time, he got his hands on a teleportation device, which will come in handy later in his misadventures.

Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars
What many doesn't know is that when the Beyonder picked up many superheroes and villains from Earth to his Battleworld to take part in original Secret Wars, Deadpool was one of the selected few. He met an alien woman named Zsaji there, who removed the scars on his face using her power and they both fell in love with each other.

He meddled with a machine to get a new costume after seeing Thor get one but got one in black-and-white that was alive and interacted with his psyche as it was an alien symbiote Klyntar. He left it back to where he found it before Spider-Man arriving to repair his own costume and became bonded to it without knowing its true nature.

Before the event of Doctor Doom stealing Beyonder's power, he briefly started an affair with The Wasp after Zsaji moved on with Colossus. He sacrificed his own life to resurrect Mister Fantastic to save the day and his scars would return for doing so. Wasp was horrified to see his face and wished to Beyonder that he erase this from everyone's memory.

Back in Black
When Spider-Man has removed his symbiotic costume in the bell tower of Our Lady of Saints Church, it felt abandoned and after being chased by a group of alien bounty hunter, it quickly ran from there. It founds a blinded Deadpool in a nearby club fighting Machine Man and bonded to him as he was about to be mind-controlled by Dansen Macabre.

Turning into Venompool, he kicked off all of his attackers and even killed some of them. Aside from having tentacles, Wade discovers that he can now shoot webbing like Spidey. Wilson recalls their time from Battleworld and decides to keep the suit this time. Soon the dup will be persuaded by extraterrestrial bounty hunter Killer Thrill, Guzz and Coldwar.

After defeating Dansen Macabre, he briefly teamed up with Power Pack to fight Zn'rx soldiers, took down White Rabbit alongside Black Cat and devoured Coldwar when engaged. It gotten into beef with Kraven the Hunter for mistaking it as Spider-Man and finally saved the latter's life by forcing Killer Thrill to leave him alone before letting go off the suit, which goes back to the church it came from and bonds to the next host, Eddie Brock.

It was the idea of writer Fabian Nicieza (Alpha Flight, New Warriors) who co-create this character for Marvel Comics with artist Rob Liefeld (Heroes Reborn – Captain America, Onslaught Reborn) that made his debut in first volume of New Mutants monthly ongoing series in 1991. This character has appeared in several comic-book titles as main character and sometimes as a supportive character.

After starring in many limited series with single-serving plot of his own, he gets his own monthly ongoing series by writer Joe Kelly (Emperor Joker, Justice League Elite) and collaborating artist Ed McGuinness (Avengers – X-Sanction, Hulk – Red Hulk) in 1997. His own monthly titles are often turned into mini action comedy stories rather than some serious stuff and always provide comic relief in the end.

The Best Mercenary Ever

Over the years of publication, Wade Wilson has made more enemies than he made friends and though his intentions are not always bad, he is often portrayed as an anti-hero. He would mostly pick up fights with bad guys who are way out of his league but will manage to take them down in the end anyway. Even after all that in his resume, he somehow pulled off being a member of Uncanny Avengers and X-Men for at least once.

In motion picture, this character is portrayed by actor Ryan Reynolds in X-Men Origins – Wolverine in 2009 first and then later in his R-rated live-action solo Deadpool movie in 2016, which became an impressive Box-Office success, triggering a sequel. Reynolds returns with Deadpool 2 in 2018 which also stars actor Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz as Cable and Domino respectively in the cinematic debut of these characters.
