Amazing Spider-Man – Red Goblin | Comics

One of Spider-Man's greatest enemies meets with another to form an unholy bond and get back at him by threatening everyone close to him.

Due to previous unfortunate events, Peter Parker had to ruin Parker Industries and everything it was built on in order to prevent Doctor Octopus or Hydra from misusing any of it. Currently, he is crashing at the couch of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Bobbi Morse AKA Mockingbird when he is not fighting crime.

Aside from that, his adventure as Spider-Man continues and he managed to get a job as Daily Bugle's science section editor. By this time, two mercenaries breach at underwater containment facility called Lock Box to secure a package and releases an artifact known as Zodiac Key.

A year ago, on the same day, Spidey had thrown out the villainous Scorpio into Zodiac Dimension for a year after he gained a year worth of prior knowledge of future. On the same day, Lock Box is breached and he got out while gaining the key as well.

He is eventually taken down and he warns before going to prison that something is coming for the Wall-Crawler, which he brushes off. Elsewhere, those mercenaries arrive to their employer with the package, which turned out to be the Carnage symbiote and the boss being Norman Osborn.

Then he would be called upon to by the current Sorcerer Supreme, Loki in absence of Doctor Strange. Years ago, he owed Spidey a favor and he just wanted to return it now but after a brief adventure together, the latter used it in most unexpected way Laufeyson could ever think of.

Meanwhile, Osborn unleashed the symbiote after repeatedly failing to restore his madness by mystical, psychological or surgical ways. It tries to take over but he offered to teach it becoming more sadistic starting with killing two of his own henchmen.

Carnage is intrigued by Osborn's method of torturing and wanted more but Norman agrees to that for being in full control. Not only does it repair his facial appearance, the symbiote ejected all nanites from his body that was stopping him from becoming Green Goblin.

Alchemax C.E.O. Liz Allan asks Flash Thompson to be present as Agent Anti-Venom during one of their upcoming presentation. There, Phil Urich showed up as Goblin King with his minions, which results in a fight and Peter ended up hitting the jackpot with Mary Jane Watson after the fight.

Peter and Mary Jane were at her apartment passionately making out and reminiscing about their past times together but then remember about their reason for splitting up seeing his costume underneath. Liz asks Flash again to try and retrieve the exploding metal tritium from Goblin King.

In one of his abandoned his gentleman's club, Osborn was talking to someone about Spider-Man whom he abducted and had blindfolded. Hearing some noise downstairs, he goes to check and confronts Phil, who he kills by ripping his heart out when Goblin King attacked him with a flame sword.

Norman came back monologuing to his prisoner explaining how he is going to deal with the Wall-Crawler but his hostage pointed out how Green Goblin has failed over and over in past only to fail each time and accidentally spills a hint.

With that, he managed to deduce the secret identity of the hero and his captive is revealed to be none other than J. Jonah Jameson. He then raids into Daily Bugle looking for the Web-Head and these two gets into a fight. GG threatened everyone with tritium explosives and Spidey managed to contain the blast.

Osborn got impaled on a girder and faking his dying state, he calls Parker near to thank him. Then he turned into a goblin/symbiote hybrid called Red Goblin. With his newfound power, Carnage/Goblin proves to overwhelming for Spider-Man alone.

He offers to leave him alone if he gives up being hero or kill each and everyone he loves. Even with help from his friends Anti-Venom, Clash, Human Torch, Miles Morales and Silk, Pete didn't stand a chance.

Amazing Spider-Man – Red Goblin

Despite Spider-Man having an impressive Rogue's Gallery, his villains can get a bit repetitive over times. In 2018, Marvel Comics hired writer Christos Gage (Civil War – House of M, House of M – Avengers) and Dan Slott (She-Hulk, Silver Surfer) to solve that problem in "Red Goblin" storyline.

Artists Jim Cheung (Avengers – The Children's Crusade, New Avengers – Illuminati), Giuseppe Camuncoli (Darth Vader – Imperial Machine, Darth Vader – Legacy's End) and Stuart Immonen (Fear Itself, Inferno) delivered illustrations for issues # 794-801 of Amazing Spider-Man monthly ongoing series.

Go Down Swinging

Green Goblin has been a terrible menace who terrorized Peter Parker on personal level and in his super-heroism. Carnage is another psychopath who is nearly as ruthless but a lot more chaotic. When two of these terrible personas merges and creates a new one, it surely is a live horror show. With a slow build-up, the plot eventually delivers more twists and turns than readers have probably bargained for.

Throughout the arc, references of the events from One More Day, Secret Empire and The Clone Conspiracy were made. Apparently, it took place between "Hunt For Wolverine" and "Return of Wolverine" crossover events and Wolverine even showed up in a cameo in the first issue of the story.

Amazing Spider-Man – Venom Inc. | Comics

Crossing over Black Cat and her gang, Lee Price rises to new levels of villainy to tangle with Spider-Man and Venom Inc.

Coming back from outer space after months, Flash Thompson loses his Venom symbiote following a confrontation with FBI. He then contacts Andi Benton AKA Mania in Philadelphia and she offers to help him locate his symbiote. He also tells her that a new Venom has already showed up in New York and is on news headlines as well.

While still on phone, Mania saves a woman from being mugged and took down a bunch of thugs. She then moves on responding to a nearby alarm at a jewelry store only to get ambushed by a gang lead by a man in the hood. They hit her up with flamethrowers and sonic cannon to separate her suit and leave her after claiming it.

Spider-Man has come across The Ringer and Tumbler trying to steal an art from Guggenheim Museum. As soon as he knocks them off, his Spider-Sense goes off as Black Cat came to strike at him with her bladed whip. Upon pinning him down under a heavy sculpture, she leaves to steal and Spidey gets a call from his old buddy Flash Thompson.

Peter Parker goes to see Flash and is surprised that he decided to meet him even after recent of collapse of Parker Industries. Flash reveals that his symbiote was stolen earlier and asked him to contact Spidey for help to get his suit back. Peter comments that even Spider-Man would probably want to destroy it only to get brushed off quickly.

Elsewhere, Venom was trashing Looter that night and almost attempts to kill him until Eddie Brock intervenes to stop his other. Struggling to keep his symbiote in check, he goes to see Dr. Steven at Alchemax to get some medication. Flash Thompson tries to get in following him and is thrown out but manages to grab one of the guards' ID cards.

When Eddie was talking to Dr. Steven about recent behavior of his suit, Flash shows up to claim his former partner and surprisingly, it responds to him. Spider-Man watches his break in from afar and gets inside once he realize Brock is there. As both Eddie and Flash struggle to gain control over the symbiote, Spidey tries ripping parts of Klyntar.

He throws a piece of it in a nearby vat and the knocked one of them over upon learning that its liquid substance is harmful to symbiotes, which doused over and transforms part of Klyntar that bonded to Flash and made him newest Anti-Venom. He rips off Venom symbiote from Eddie before putting it into a canister and then leaves abruptly.

Since Flash was adamant on not letting go of his former host, Spider-Man invites him to an apartment that he shares with Mockingbird. Unwilling to disclose his secret identity to Thompson just yet, he suggests using Peter Parker's equipment to kill Venom symbiote but wanting to bond with it again, Flash refuses to let him do so.

Looter was sitting in a pub and gets a visit from former Venom host Lee Price wearing Mania symbiote. He infects all other patrons at the bar with gobs of symbiote biomass to turn them into his Inklings and bending them to his will. Together, they raided at Black Cat's hideout but she retaliates by telling her gang to tear them all apart.

One by one, all of her men fall prey to Price and his Made Men including Hammerhead, Killer Shrike and Scorpion. When all of her minions fell, Cat challenges Price to a one on one battle to settle scores and even she fell too. Spidey makes a symbiote compass, which lead him to a now turned Black Cat and her gang along with Anti-Venom.

Overwhelmed by a group of Venomized villains, these two tries their best to fight back almost to no avail. Felicia Hardy breaks out of Maniac's control by kissing Anti-Venom and got out only to stumble up on Eddie Brock. A strand of symbiote from Bobbi Morse's apartment escaped into sewers looking for him and they bond immediately.

Both heroes eventually get captured and Price sends a turned Spidey into a crime spree through New York. Andi Benton saves her mentor from being executed and Spider-Man was saved by a joint effort of Black Cat and Venom. As Lee Price plans to attack on notorious Five Families, they all band together to finally stop him for good.

A 2017 crossover event, "Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy" is mostly centered on a five-issue Spider-Man limited series from Marvel Comics, written by Christos Gage (Civil War – House of M, Thunderbolts – Secret Invasion) and Dan Slott (Spider-Man – Big Time, Spider-Man – Dying Wish), while Jim Cheung (Avengers – The Children's Crusade, New Avengers – Illuminati) served as artist and Gabriele Dell'Otto (Annihilation – Nova, Annihilation – Ronan) provided cover arts. Although, the story at first seemed like a repetitive clash between Spider-Man and The Jackal, it unfolds as more.

The Jackal’s Master Plan

Parker Industries and New U Technologies being responsible for a dystopian future seemed like a fresh take on the series. Scarlet Spider and Spider-Gwen was also enjoyable because they both played their important part that helped the story advance further while Peter Parker did his part.

A huge gauntlet of fallen enemies of everyone's favorite wall-crawler including Big Man, Eduardo Lobo, Barton Hamilton's version of Green Goblin, Hitman, Hobgoblin, Jack O'Lantern, Kangaroo, Massacre, Mirage, Montana, Mysterio, Ox, Rose, Spencer Smythe, Spider-Slayer, Stilt-Man and Tarantula showed up.

Mysteries regarding The Living Brain and consciousness of Otto Octavius are finally cleared up by him. Also, the ambiguity around Miles Warren's identity came to a conclusion that even the most veteran fans probably haven't probably guessed.

A brand-new monthly ongoing Ben Reilly – Scarlet Spider series with its first storyline titled "Back In The Hood" by Peter David (Hulk – Destruction, The Other – Evolve or Die) and Mark Bagley (Hulk – Banner DOA, Venom – Lethal Protector) begins publication immediately after these events along with monthly Amazing Spider-Man series.

Amazing Spider-Man – Graveyard Shift | Comics

Peter Parker returns home to discover Parker Industries being invaded by corporate saboteur and infamous super-villain Ghost.

Returning home recently after leading a group of Spider-People from Multiverse against an inter-dimensional murderous family of The Inheritors to victory, Peter Parker is back as The Amazing Spider-Man. Although not at his top form, Pete is more confident than ever to lead his company Parker Industries towards a better future.

Fighting over Morlun and his family took a lot of life force out of him lately and therefore, he was having a bit hard time against reptilian super-villain Iguana. Amidst his struggle, he gets a call from Aunt May, who was worried for not hearing from him for days and wants to know if Peter is still bringing Anna Maria Marconi to dinner.

May wasn't aware that he and Anna are not dating anymore, which makes him uncomfortable. He then gets a call from Anna shortly afterwards and when Iguana realizes that Spidey is on phone, his lack of mannerism greatly bothers him. Anna reminds Peter that he has been missing for days and now is needed for an important meeting soon.

His co-worker Sajani Jaffrey cuts in to tell him to arrive there and present his idea to committee for a prison contract. As he explains how people need to show compassion and understanding towards bad-guys, he was beating down Iguana. When Pete hears that they are competing against Alchemax for the deal, he quickly wraps things up.

Alchemax co-founder Liz Allan was slightly worried seeing Peter since he always manages to win in the end and wished that he wouldn't succeed this time. Overhearing this, her stepbrother Mark Raxton who was former super-villain Molten Man and Ty Stone then plans on hiring corporate saboteur Ghost to infiltrate Parker Industries.

During dinner at Aunt May and Jay's apartment, Anna Maria covers a break-up story for Peter and she had him change suit to swing back at HQ. There, Sajani was going nuts over Parker Industries trying to create a super villain prison is a bad idea but former criminal Clayton Cole points out that Pete is also focusing on reforming them.

They are interrupted by a security guard who reports of a system anomaly only to see Anna and Peter making an entrance. This really surprised her as she has upgraded system after Black Cat broke in earlier and was supposed to get a text from Pete. Sajani gets annoyed knowing they came through a secret door that she didn't know about.

In their security hub, Ghost has broken in and after sealing all exits, deactivated all means of communication to outside. He took out a guard and then turned all security measures against employees of Parker Industries. In an attempt to save his co-workers from bot attacks, Peter starts using his powers before changing into Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, former jewel thief turned tough as nails mob-boss Black Cat is set to establish her name in criminal underworld and since she can't steal everything, someone needs to pay. When her lackey Melter and Killer Shrike brought Ringer to her back room, she made an example out of him for due payment and trying to get a drop on her.

Trying to be one of the good guys didn't work well for Black Cat in past and she decides to take back what was once hers. So, she kidnaps Jay Jameson and May Parker alongside jealous millionaire Regina Venderkamp before stealing everything she bought earlier from an auction that once belonged to Felicia to set them all on fire.

Amazing Spider-Man – Spider-Verse | Comics

Morlun of the Inheritors is coming with his family to hunt down all Spider-Totems of Multiverse.

J. Jonah Jameson calls Peter Parker up from his sleep and starts shouting at him to go over at Armstrong Park, where a super-villain is apparently trashing the place down and he wants pictures of that. Quickly donning his suit in a rush, he starts swinging and within no time, he reached the park seeing a shadowy figure waiting for him.

It was Morlun who came after him and quickly drained the life-force of a completely unaware Spider Moon-Man. Back in Loomworld, his brother Daemos and sister Verna were preparing for a hunt when he arrived home. Before going on a hunt, Verna slightly teases him and Morlun approached his brother for answer.

Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man wakes up in the morning at his apartment next to Cindy Moon, currently going as Silk, who came to talk about a solution of their problem of getting into an insatiable urge for mating while staying in close proximity and then she jokingly suggests that Pete should move to moon.

They came outside bumping into Looter but Spider-Girl, Spider-Woman and Spider-Man 2099 arrives to talk to him. Peter' alternate reality daughter Mayday Parker AKA Spider-Girl, Spider-Ham and Spider-UK also joins them shortly.

These heroes all banded together to seek his help because he is the only one across the entire Multiverse who faced Morlun more than once and survived.

Everyone has gathered at their current safe zone in Earth-13, where lives an Enigma Force empowered Cosmic Spider-Man to protect them all. On Earth-610, Verna and her hounds attacks on an unsuspecting Miles Morales out of nowhere.

Meanwhile, Daemos was trashing New Warriors members Justice, Nova, Sun Girl and Water Snake on Mount Wundagore but saved Scarlet Spider for last. During his monologue, Kaine hits him with his stinger like spikes in a fit of rage, which actually managed to hurt him for once and Daemos deemed him as The Other.

As Kaine was about to bite the dust, cavalry arrived from a portal to rescue him and engaged the hunter. One of them was Gwen Stacy and he thought it was a clone from Jackal but Ben Reilly of Earth-94 assured him that she isn't one.

They all regrouped quickly to get out but Bruce Banner Spidey died at the hands of the Inheritor. Back in Loomworld, Morlun had a tiff with his elder brother regarding Daemos secretly entering into his reserved hunting ground Earth-616.

He is confronted by his entire family over his ability to conquer the assembled Spider-Army to rule over the web of life and destiny forever on the dinner table. They all then feast and then prepare to lead an onslaught upon their prey but completely forget about their outcast brother Karn, who has the ability to turn the tides of this war!

Amazing Spider-Man – Spider-Verse

Tying-in with widely spanned "Spider-Verse" crossover event, "Amazing Spider-Man – Spider-Verse" contains the major conflicts and happenings. The storyline is plotted by writer Dan Slott (Spider-Man – Big Time, Spider-Man – Dying Wish), collecting issues #9-15 from Amazing Spider-Man volume three.

Artists Giuseppe Camuncoli (Superior Spider-Man – My Own Worst Enemy, Superior Spider-Man – Necessary Evil) and Olivier Coipel (Avengers Vs. X-Men, Siege) were helping Dan portray this crossover from the Multiverse of Marvel Comics. At one point, a showdown between real Peter Parker Spider-Man and a time-displaced Superior Spider-Man was one of the defining moments of the story.

spider verse superior spider man
Amazing Vs. Superior

A vendetta that started back in 2001, when energy vampire Morlun was introduced through "Coming Home" storyline and he kept coming after Spider-Man was actually hinting at more future encounters, has finally paid off to readers. Daemos and Verna will probably be on spotlight of some future story arc as there are tons of potential to explore their character for some interesting narrative build and some awesome action.

Character like Spider-Gwen made her significant debut during this event and holds a great promise to be on many future stories as well. However, threat of The Inheritors is far from over even if they are halted for now, because Morlun has returned from dead more than once now and a sequel event "Spider-Geddon" is scheduled to take place in 2018.
