An unscheduled demolition by the Mafia leveled up an entire building that belonged to a multinational firm who refused to cooperate with them. As he keeps perishing the goons and they are fade up on keep losing their men to him. After a good fight, Overtkill outmatches Spawn, causes him to run away only to come back when fully prepared. He soon demands a re-match against the cyborg killer. They met in the alleyways and fights again but this time Spawn’s heavy array of weaponaries proved more than his new cybernetic foe could handle.

Also, Spawn meets Cogliostro, another Hellspawn but he is an opposite to the clown Violator, he acts more like an advocate of him. A centuries old powerful arch nemesis from the side of Haven named Angela makes her appearance in the game. Angela used to prey upon the hosts of Hellspawn from the Medieval era to modern time by disguising herself as a helpless woman desperately seeking for protection.

Upon the arrival of her prey, she slowly lured them all into her trap before hunting them down. Though she was proven very effective for centuries to track down and hunt the Hellspawns, she faced the current Spawn only to be defeated by him for the first time ever in the history of her entire kind.

Manolis opens up to Ben Urich about his involvement in framing Matt Murdock when his son died after surgery, which caused him to end up in a hospital bed and Ben to break his hand by one of Fisk's employee. When Manolis tries to reach Urich again, he was strangled to death as Ben was on line, goading him into continue his investigation.

After getting back to his feet, Matt starts preparing him again for getting back to vigilantism to reclaim his life. During his long run on the first volume of Daredevil monthly ongoing series, writer Frank Miller (The Dark Knight Returns, The Dark Knight Strikes Again) came up with the idea of "Born Again" storyline, which he worked with artist David Mazzucchelli (Batman – Year One, Superman and Batman – World's Funnest) from issues #226-233.

When the story was later reprinted into a graphic novel, it became a phenomenon in comic-book history as well as one of the best stories written on the blind superhero so far. Moving aside from typical fighting with super villains, the plotline uses a variety of Christian symbolism and portrays the rise and fall of Matt Murdock in rough situations.

Supporting characters like Felix Manning, James Wesley, Melvin Potter and Sister Maggie showed up throughout the arc and a super-villain named Nuke made his debut within the plot. Reference of events regarding Karen Page from this story will be brought up later in "Guardian Devil" storyline and will add more depth to that.

Matt Murdock grew up in the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen as a young, loner boy unlike other kids. He would often go skateboarding and then sneak up into the gym of his father, "Battlin’" Jack Murdock, who was a professional boxer. Jack would often cry at night over a woman named Maggie and Matt would help him back to bed.

The other night, Jack was getting beat down by a henchman of The Fixer, who wants him to become an enforcer for him. Though Murdock refuses even after they threaten to kill him, they warn him to kill Matt too if he doesn't comply and seeing no other way out, he ended up doing the job so that his young boy could go ahead in life.

As he sold out a part of his soul to do Fixer's job, he hopes for young son Matt is to stay away from trouble and to be established really well. When he hears that his boy is fighting other kids on the block, Jack beats him in a fit of rage but regrets immediately after. Matt loses his vision in a road accident when he was trying to save a blind man crossing street from an incoming truck carrying radioactive substances that got spilled on his eyes. People in general took pity on the boy and wanted to help him but there comes a man who carefully observes him. He is picked by ninja master Stick who is also without vision and trains Matt to develop and master his certain set of skills. Soon, he could jump from rooftops and even shoot arrows to a target with pinpoint accuracy.

Later, Jack is approached by The Fixer after a while to set up a boxing match next day for him to make a bundle out of it but knowing that his son is watching the fight, he refuses to fall or give up until the last moment and knocks out his opponent. He is later cornered by Fixer's men into an alley, who beat him up badly before shooting him dead.

After playing dumb to the cops, little Matt, finds men of Fixer's gang and beat the hell out of them. He then confronts the big one in the gym and breaks him too before their boss arrives to see this. Fixer's attempt to run from the vengeful boy caused him to die of a heart attack after a Hail Mary chase over to the subway of New York.

In his freshmen years, he met with Franklin "Foggy" Nelson and they became good friends while studying law. There, the enigmatic Elektra came to his life like a wind and bonded because of their thrill-seeking nature. They starts having an affair and begin training together but eventually got separated, breaking Matt’s heart.

Back in Hell’s Kitchen, one of his arch-enemies to be in his upcoming years as the vigilante crime-fighter Daredevil, the Kingpin of crime rises to power by killing off mafia boss Don Rigoletto and taking over his organization. He reshapes the underworld with drugs and child prostitution while ruining countless lives for this.

Matthew came back to his old place after finishing law school and picked fights with punks working for the Kingpin. Having a history of standing up against bullies, Matt eventually took a stand against the biggest bully in the city upon learning of his activity and debuted as a vigilante by trashing down his operation to ground.

"The Man Without Fear" is a five issue limited series featuring Daredevil, published by Marvel Comics in 1993. Renowned comic-book legend Frank Miller (The Dark Knight Returns, The Dark Knight Strikes Again) and artist John Romita Jr. (Avengers Vs. X-Men, World War Hulk) teamed up to re-tell the origin story of the relentless vigilante hero.

Miller's work on Daredevil monthly series in the early 80's made him a series regular and Romita had a history in contributing to the series as well. The origin story was sort of a "Batman – Year One" treatment to DD, also created by Miller himself.

A Blind Ronin

"The Man Without Fear" is considered as one of the greatest Daredevil stories around and a classic origin tale to get a fresh start with this crime-fighting superhero right from his very beginning but Miller depicted the tale slight differently than his early works. He took this opportunity to include additional details to the plot.

Although much more further in plot by the time, the third season of Marvel's Daredevil web television series on streaming service Netflix adopts the black costume Matt wears at the end of this story throughout the whole season. The origin of Elektra, Stick and The Hand is also heavily influenced from the mini-series.

Daredevil | Comics

Matt Murdock grew up in Hell's Kitchen and was destined to become the blind superhero Daredevil, the Man Without Fear.

Mathew Murdock was the son of Jonathan "Battling Jack" Murdock, who used to be a prize-fighting boxer living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York. Unlike the other kids, Matt was busier in studying rather than playing around with other kids.

This often caused him to be taunted and bullied by the kids that led him to take out his frustrations in his father's gym training. One day, while trying to save a blind man from getting under a speeding truck, Matt was accidentally exposed to radioactive hazard from the truck that spilled in his face and later it rendered him blind.

The Man Without Fear
During his time in hospital, Matt realized that he has lost his vision but his hearing and smelling senses have been amped up on uncanny level. Though everyone around him used to take pity on him, he was being eyed by ninja master Stick for a while.

With a purpose in mind, Stick approaches him for training and using his newly gained super enhanced senses, Matt became pretty good at doing things that no blind man can do, including target practice with impeccable accuracy. Later, his father was murdered by "The Fixer" and his henchmen for not going down in a match.

He chased them down all and one by one took them down before one of his chases has led him to a brothel, where he accidentally pushed a girl out of window. After this, Stick abandoned him for his lack of discipline and control over his emotions. A year later, he went to college to study law and befriended fellow freshman Foggy Nelson.

There, he came across Elektra and quickly fell in love only for her to leave him shortly and break his heart. Meanwhile, Hell's Kitchen saw a new villain named Wilson Fisk to rise in power and would become the Kingpin of crime who controls every major crime there. Matt would eventually come back to his old place without knowing this.

He befriended a young girl named Mickey at his father's gym and would confront a lieutenant of Kingpin named Larks after going against an entire mob, effectively shutting down the ring and debuting as vigilante hero Daredevil. He would later start practicing law with Foggy Nelson in their own law-firm named Nelson and Murdock.

When Karen Page flew off from New York to pursue an acting career, she ended up becoming a junkie and pornstar. For a shot of heroin she even sold out the secret identity of the superhero Daredevil, who is also her former lover Matt Murdock. This information reaches to the Kingpin of crime and he used this to destroy the life of his enemy.

Matt loses his job, framed for a case to tip off a witness, his girlfriend left him and finally, his house blew up in front of him. When he couldn't take it anymore and decided to face Wilson Fisk after figuring out the details. It caused him to get beat down heavily and he survived with an inch of his life before Sister Maggie came to his rescue.

Hell-bent on killing his arch-rival, the lord of crime then hires a deranged psychopath to kill his friend Foggy Nelson wearing a Daredevil suit but Matt stopped it from happening. Then he released super soldier Nuke on Hell's Kitchen neighborhood to wreck havoc, which brought in Captain America and The Avengers into the scene.
