Venom – Absolute Carnage | Comics

Cletus Kasady is back from dead to unleash "Absolute Carnage", with Venom is caught between saving his son and stopping him.

Fighting against mystical beings during "War of the Realms" lately, Eddie Brock got separated from his Venom symbiote and is free now. He wonders whether he was turned into a monster by his other or his symbiote became evil due to his influence. He checks on his son Dylan Brock to realize that the boy has a fever and needs to be taken care of.

Having violent hallucinations of Klyntar in his head, Brock shows up at Daily Globe to meet their editor-in-chief, Clark. Though he is grateful to Eddie for his time here as an intern, he can't hire him because of past criminal records. However, he asks Brock if he can solve a case of missing kids without killing anyone, only then can they discuss about a job.

Using his old investigative journalist skills, Brock goes to a stash house in New York's seedy underbelly to see if they know anything about missing kids. Seeing no guards and blood on door handle, Eddie becomes very cautions and his inner Venom kicks in. Acting reckless, he notices a pile of cash and dead gang members on floor, all soaked in blood.

Soon as he gets hit by a baseball bat, Brock came to his senses and brutally fought back a group of people with black eyes and crimson spirals. Beating them, he hears children screaming and steps into next room to find out Emill Gregg AKA Sin-Eater is apparently back from dead and standing on a sigil of blood, resurrected by Knull, God of symbiotes.

He reveals that his long-time enemy Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage is also resurrected by a cult of Knull called Church of the New Darkness and bonded with Grendel symbiote. Eddie beats down Sin-Eater to a pulp before returning to Daily Globe, fully covered in blood upon rescuing all thirteen missing children to get some cash to take care of his son.

Kasady starts hunting down every former symbiote hosts; Brock tries to get away from New York City his son Dylan. Venom symbiote follows him to subway and bonds with him again to save him from Dark Carnage. Narrowly escaping its grip, he reluctantly seeks help from Spider-Man and plans to non-lethally extract codices from all past hosts.

To test codex-extraction machine of The Maker, Reed Richards from an alternate universe, they plan on getting Norman Osborn out of Ravencroft Institute, leaving Dylan Brock and Normie Osborn with him at Rex Strickland's warehouse. With no hope of getting out alive, both Spidey and Venom gets viciously swarmed by minions of Dark Carnage.

When his machine is finished, The Maker insists on Normie to test it out but Dylan refuses to let him do so. As they were arguing, a proximity alarm goes off and Life Foundation symbiotes Agony, Lasher, Phage and Riot breaks in. They were sent here by Carnage to claim Normie Osborn's codex but The Maker holds them off with his techs.

Dylan and Normie takes shelter at the armory but Phage comes after them regardless only to get its neck snapped by Sleeper, most recent seventh spawn of Venom symbiote. Shortly after introducing himself to Dylan, he gets blasted off with a sonic wave from Maker and he proceeds to put it in a canister along with other Life Foundation symbiotes.

Dylan makes a plan to escape realizing that Maker will forcibly use his machine on Normie and freed Agony, Lasher, Phage and Riot to distract him. Before he could activate anti-symbiote defenses, they all bonds to him and turned him into Hybrid. Chasing after those kids, he came across Captain America, Spider-Man, Thing and Wolverine.

Amazing Spider-Man – Absolute Carnage | Comics

Cletus Kasady is back at his scariest as Carnage with Spider-Man standing between him and young Dylan Brock.

Wrapping up some unfinished business with Dr. Curt Connors as Amazing Spider-Man following events of "Hunted" has cost Peter Parker a date with his lover Mary Jane Watson and she now wants to pursue a career in movies once again as she gets an offer from a new film director after her recent encounter with Francine Frye AKA Electro.

He insists that MJ should take this acting job but is also bothered to stay far away from her for two-long months. In between helping out Aunt May to reestablish F.E.A.S.T. Center and dealing with bunch of A.I.M. goons alongside his younger sister Teresa Parker to rescue a captured agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., he missed her seeing off to airport.

Lately, Peter is being haunted by a secret tormentor, who introduces himself as Kindred and is using Mysterio as a pawn for his schemes. More recently, one of his deceased enemies Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage is revived by a cult and bonded him with a dragon-like symbiote called Grendel to summon Knull, God of the Symbiotes.

Things all started back when Spidey along with few other heroes were abducted by Beyonder for his "Secret Wars" and he was looking for an upgrade for his tattered outfit. All he got from that strange device was a black ball that shrouds his body like a costume in black and white, which turned out to be an alien symbiote named Klyntar.

Amazing Spider-Man – Absolute Carnage | Comics

Though he eventually managed to get rid of it but then it found another host in Eddie Brock and together they became Venom. That was only a beginning as soon his symbiote spawned a deadlier offspring called Carnage and more. Many heroes and people he knew became hosts for them in one occasion or another even for a brief time.

Each time Klyntar bonds with someone, it leaves a genetic footprint known as Codex, which Kasady is currently after. Intending to stop him from doing so, Spidey and Venom team-up to gather former symbiote hosts in an attempt to safely extract those and their rescue starts with Norman Osborn, who is locked up in Ravencroft Institute.

Carnage arrives with a horde of his minions to take Osborn in and overwhelm the heroes into running. They gather all heroes who were former host to Klyntar symbiote to get their codices out using a machine before Kasady could. Yet he showed up with an army, which forced Spidey to move Dylan Brock and Normie Osborn into safety.

He locks down Eddie's son and his godson to safety before symbiote wearing Osborn comes to hunt them down. Bonding with Grendel symbiote and believing him to be Cletus Kasady, Norman becomes much stronger than his Green Goblin persona and savagely beats down Spider-Man with an inch of his life with almost no effort.

However, Osborn was previously visited by Kindred in his cell, who claimed to be a victim of his evil ways when he was a human. Although he desperately wanted to punish Norman but seeing him being consumed by someone else's psyche, Kindred spares him and implanted a demonic centipede in his brain, so he couldn't kill Spidey either.

Too beaten up to get back on his feet and fight Carnage, Peter goes through a flashback of past events seeing how he was unable to save people he cared about like Flash Thompson, Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn from him. When the madman tried to kill him, he gets incapacitated by Kindred's centipede and Pete got a second chance.

As she was talking with Matt Murdock, two more Frost Giants showed up threatening them and she knocks them out. Already struggling with unstable nature of her growing power, She-Hulk is unable to interpret his cryptic message. Malekith and his armies are eventually defeated at long last, granting Earth's Mightiest Heroes a sigh of relief.

Amazing Spider-Man – Behind the Scenes | Comics

Mysterio is cooking something up as Spider-Man is taunted by an ominous bandaged figure and his Superior Foes return.

Ever since Peter Parker has started seeing his love of life Mary Jane Watson, he couldn't seem to catch a break in his personal life as well as Amazing Spider-Man. It started with a fake alien invasion by Mysterio, followed by Robot-Master and his Tri-Sentinels, Bar With No Name patrons, Thieves Guild of New York and Scorpion.

His most recent troubles came from Kraven the Hunter, who kidnapped a bunch of animal-themed villains and employed Arcade to arrange a grand hunt. During a face-off with last son of Kraven, a grim fate of MJ is shown to Spidey through a drug induced hallucination, caused by a green mist and he couldn't seem to shake that feeling off.

Thankfully, he came home to find her all right but a mysterious figure covered in bandages keeps taunting him from shadows. He takes Mary Jane for a night out but she notices him to be lost in thoughts and points that out. That centipede-carrying entity invaded his dreams and eventually revealed his name to Peter, startling him greatly.

In Ravencroft Institute, Quentin Beck AKA Mysterio was having a therapy session with his psychiatrist and narrating past events of his life that has lead to his suicide. Beck seems to be worried about a secret tormentor but is terrified to even name him but his consultant insists that he must face truth to clear out all of his delusions.

That demonic entity suddenly showed up there only to viciously killing his minion while his therapist escaped. Calling himself as "Kindred", he also did this to prevent Mysterio from revealing his true identity to Pete before its time. Beck's psychiatrist Dr. Ludwig Rinehart soon gets a visit from him as well and his scheme got busted.

It appears that, Quentin Beck had brainwashed his therapist Dr. Winhorst into believing that he was Mysterio and got him killed. Meanwhile, Spider-Man gets into major trouble by missing out on a date with Mary Jane when he went looking for Dr. Curt Connors in his warehouse and gets busy fighting a legion of self-replicating giant robots.

After his confrontation with last son of Kraven earlier in Central Park, Connors has been hiding here to keep his family safe. Without his inhibitor chip to keep him in check, he can transform back to Lizard at any time and do horrible things that he will regret but Spidey managed to convince him to give it another shot for sake of his son Billy.

MJ called her friend and Peter's ex-girlfriend Carlie Cooper to accompany her and they met her old showbiz rival, Melanie Daniels. She invites MJ and Carlie to her show that got hijacked by Francine Frye AKA Electro, who took the aspiring actress hostage for ransom from internet but Mary Jane successfully foiled that plan with help from Carlie.

Following her rescue of Melanie, media makes MJ famous once again and her former agent calls her for a role in a movie. Unbeknown to her, Mysterio is serving as director and producer for that film based on a script given to him by Kindred.

Mayor Wilson Fisk sent cops to take Francine into custody when their vehicle is attacked by all-female Sinister Syndicate, who recruited her into their team. Beetle, Electro, Lady Octopus, Scorpia, Trapstr and White Rabbit decides s to fight patriarchy in organized crime profession by going after known super-villain Boomerang together.

In an epilogue, Spider-Man was sitting on a rooftop and eating pizza as he looks at a flock of pigeons making rounds. He decides to go back to work after finishing up his final slice and offers a nearby one his crust, which it snatches away. He shockingly sees the bird transforming into a mini-symbiote monster before devouring his meal.

"War of The Realms" reaches to Earth in the meantime, causing death and destruction around. Eddie tries to find a safe place for his son Dylan Brock as monsters running rampant in New York City.

Now that he has no Venom symbiote to keep him safe, Brock plans to take Dylan to abandoned safehouse of Rex Strickland. They came across a Fire Demon nearing an alleyway and patiently waited for that monster to go away. Finding cover nearing a warehouse, Eddie sees a family being chased by Dark Elves that he decides to help.

He tries to drive those Elves to him to let their would-be victims escape and engages them in a brawl only to get stabbed by them. Leaving him to bleed out, they chase after civilians and then Dylan gets spotted by one Elf who attempted to kill him but got his neck broken by timely arrival of Brock while being observed by War Witches of Malekith.

Intrigued by his bloodlust and rage, one of the War Witches comes to Brock with an agenda when he arrives at Rex's safehouse. So, she offers him a mystical Asgardian crystal called Dreamstone to conjure up a weapon that he desires.

Though Dylan warns him not to trust her, he reaches out to it and transforms into a Venom-like symbiote creature with crystal spikes and Nordic runes inscribed on its body, which feels very similar to his other, yet quite different. It starts to heal his internal wounds but Brock bites off an arm of War Witch when she asked him to serve Malekith.

Keeping his ward behind safehouse doors, Eddie goes out to fulfill his duty as a "Lethal Protector" of innocents. He finds a group of Dark Elves torturing civilians beside a troll and his newfound symbiote fills him with bloodlust. To settle scores of their previous encounter, Venom mercilessly rips them apart and decapitated the troll as well.

He realizes that his dark emotions are being manifested by power of Dreamstone and Brock even introduces himself to a civilian as Venom by referring himself to "I" instead of usual "we". Elsewhere, the hurt War Witch feels humiliated at Eddie's betrayal and she attempts to seek a new pawn in a dark apartment, who turns out to be Jack O'Lantern.

Eddie Brock continues to clear streets amidst an all-out chaos and his suit grows stronger as he flips over a Roxxon tank. An imposter who was humiliated by Venom in past, Jack is powered by a Dreamstone crystal and goes after his enemy. He hits up Brock with a burst of flame and mocks him for not do away with his symbiote's great weakness to fire.

Eddie doesn't even flinch by his enhanced suit or flaming bat skeleton and instead recalls his memory of almost killing previous Jack O'Lantern. He then sics a pair of Wild Hunt hounds on Venom when he wasn't able to get an upper hand. As he was giving chase to Jack throughout the city, he suddenly gets smashed with a mace of a Frost Giant.

His feeling of concern and love for Dylan starts making him weak and so, Brock recalls on more bad memories. He grows big to match sizes with them to finish them off and his symbiote even adapts to Jack's attack by shaping into Asgardian armor. Eddie's growing rage gives War Witch hope of eventually turning him into a war-puppet for Malekith.
