X-Men – Messiah CompleX | Comics
Mutant population has been drastically reduced and the remaining Mutants are left de-powered after the "House of M" event caused by a mentally unstable Scarlet Witch. She had flattened the slim chances of any mutant population to the future. However, recently a new mutant activation is detected in Alaska by Professor Xavier and Beast. Cyclops reaches the spot with the X-Men, only to find out a few lifeless bodies of The Marauders and The Purifiers, assuming they had reached here first and had a fight for the possession of the new born. Cyclops sent the team of Wolverine, Storm, Angel, Colossus and Nightcrawler to look for Marauders and Predator X is also seen looking for the baby and devouring the dead corpses of The Marauders.

Julio Richter AKA Rictor has joined the ranks of Purifiers to investigate and act as a double-agent for Cyclops, discovering that they don't have the baby yet but they have Lady Deathstrike in their team. Soon the team of New X-Men attacks The Purifiers and these two team battles with Lady Deathstrike initially taking down both X-23 and Rockslide. The X-Men engaged in a full-scale battle with Mister Sinister’s group of Marauders consisting Apocalypse's former Horsemen of DeathGambit, Sunfire, Scalphunter, Lady Mastermind, Omega SentinelVertigo and many other bad guys on Sinister’s Antarctic base. Finally it is revealed by Wolverine that Cable actually has the baby in his care, but a time travelling Bishop is after the baby too for his own reasons.

X-Men – Messiah CompleX (Hardcover)

"Messiah CompleX" is a Marvel Comics crossover event that ran from 2007-08, from right after the "X-Men - Blinded by the Light" storyline and followed from the "Endangered Species" event. Writer Mike Carey (X-Men – Manifest Destiny, X-Men – Supernovas), Ed Brubaker (Captain America – Reborn, Steve Rogers – Super-Soldier), Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle drafted parts of this event in various X-Titles. Artist Chris Bachalo (Generation X, Uncanny X-Men), Humberto Ramos (Amazing Spider-Man, Superior Spider-Man), Marc Silvestri (Cyberforce, The Darkness) and Billy Tan (New Avengers, Shadowland) took turns on the total drawing responsibilities. It is the first part to the two later parts of the "Messiah War" and "Second Coming" crossover.

X-Men – Blinded by the Light | Comics
Rogue is mentally troubled after she has recently dealt with the murderous alien entity known as Hecatomb and absorbed the consciousness of eight billion people along with it. All of the members of the team are re-grouping now and Emma Frost tries to help Rogue out by managing the trapped minds inside her. Omega Sentinel suddenly starts acting weirdly and unexpectedly attacks Emma. It is later revealed that she was possessed by a digitized version of Malice. As Wolverine and Beast senses abnormalities in the mansion atmosphere, Lady Mastermind reveals that she is manipulating their minds and allowed The Marauders to sneak attack on them. In the heat of the battle, a betraying Mystique shot and fatally wounded up her step daughter Rogue.

Other X-Men also soon fell under the attack by The Marauders, with Mystique on their side and the X-Mansion is blown. This is perhaps one of the bad fights for the X-Men, as most of them are injured from their previous battles or in shock at the discovery of their recent enemy. Cable is then ambushed by former X-Man and Apocalypse’s Horseman of Death, Gambit and Japanese mutant Sunfire, who attacked him brutally for almost no seeming reason. Cable managed to survive the initial heat of their combine attack and stops Sunfire but soon disappeared from the scene. The Marauders meets Mister Sinister in his secret hideout with the wounded body of Rogue, which the villain may have any use for.

They are neither human, nor mutants; a completely different kind with uncanny powers and abilities superior to the others, make them believe that they are the only species with the right to exist on Earth. So, they are on a mission to destroy every other life form on Earth. The Children wants to kill Sabretooth just because he knows of their existence but he managed to barely escape from them and came to the mansion of X-Men for protection from them, who were also framed for the destruction of a city of Mexico to the mass media by the Children of The Vault.

Next, The Children raids a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility and after killing all the operatives present on the base within minutes, they recruits a captive Northstar and his sister Aurora after brain-washing and amplifying their power. The twin raid an attack on the X-Men all of a sudden and in the initial impact killed Iceman. They came here for one purpose and that is to kill Sabretooth. The twins were eventually subdued by the efforts of Mystique, Rogue and Cable. After interrogating Sabretooth, Cable learns of the existence of these new threats and that put the X-Men on The Children’s hit list too. As the twin has failed them in their purpose and their cover is blown, The Children of The Vault decides to engage the X-Men directly. Meanwhile, an deadly extra-terrestrial threat called The Hecatomb is accidentally unleashed upon the world by Lady Mastermind.

X-23 | Comics

Unlike any children, she was born as a clone in an attempt of a top-secret facility to re-create Weapon X program that gave birth to Wolverine. Doctor Sarah Kinney proposed for a female clone when the other twenty two died in the Adamantium bonding process and then act as her surrogate mother to preserve even a small fraction of humanity in her but all her efforts go in vein by the intervention of Doctor Zander Rice.

He set up Kinney to be killed by X-23 with a "trigger scent" and in her dying breath she named the clone “Laura”. She became a weapon, killed many folks, escaped The Facility and then goes to seek out Wolverine. Then Captain America and Matt Murdock comes to take her in but eventually sets her free to avoid S.H.I.E.L.D.'s exploitation of her.

She ended up on streets living as a prostitute but then welcomed by the X-Men in Xavier Institute. When New X-Men was formed, she joined the team with Elixr, Hellion, Mercury, Prodigy, Rockslide and Surge. She teamed-up with Spider-Man, became Captain Universe for a while, helped destroy cyborg Nimrod, bested her handler Kimura several times, defeated Lady Deathstrike during Messiah CompleX.

Then she enrolled to the X-Force team, fought the Hulk, made an uneasy alliance with Daken against Mr. Sinister, aided the Future Foundation and finally became a part of Avengers Academy. She also formed the “Circle of Four” with Ghost Rider, Red Hulk and Venom against Blackheart. Following the “Death of Wolverine” she took the mantle of her mentor to honor his memory.

Originally created by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost for a TV series, prior to her debut in comics in 2004, X-23 is a fictional Marvel Comics character who is a clone of another popular protagonist; Wolverine. X-23 was a part of many X-Men based crossover and stories like Innocence Lost, Target X, The Killing Dream, NYX, Decimation, Mercury Falling, World War HulkQuest for Magik, League of Losers, Messiah War and Second Coming.

Her Father's Legacy

She was one of the Wolverines just like Daken, Lady Deathstrike, Mystique and Sabretooth. Although she is a clone of Wolverine, it is shown in the 2005 limited series X-Men – Age of Apocalypse while further exploring the alternate reality of Age of Apocalypse that she is actually the daughter of Wolverine and Jean Grey of that timeline.

Aside from her many notable comic-book appearance, X-23 also appeared on two animated series X-Men – Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men on TV. The character would also appear in the upcoming 2017 film Logan in her very first live-action appearance, portrayed by Dafne Keen. But since her role is only titled “Laura” and not “X-23”, it is still unclear what part she will end up playing.
