Amazing Spider-Man – Red Goblin | Comics

One of Spider-Man's greatest enemies meets with another to form an unholy bond and get back at him by threatening everyone close to him.

Due to previous unfortunate events, Peter Parker had to ruin Parker Industries and everything it was built on in order to prevent Doctor Octopus or Hydra from misusing any of it. Currently, he is crashing at the couch of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Bobbi Morse AKA Mockingbird when he is not fighting crime.

Aside from that, his adventure as Spider-Man continues and he managed to get a job as Daily Bugle's science section editor. By this time, two mercenaries breach at underwater containment facility called Lock Box to secure a package and releases an artifact known as Zodiac Key.

A year ago, on the same day, Spidey had thrown out the villainous Scorpio into Zodiac Dimension for a year after he gained a year worth of prior knowledge of future. On the same day, Lock Box is breached and he got out while gaining the key as well.

He is eventually taken down and he warns before going to prison that something is coming for the Wall-Crawler, which he brushes off. Elsewhere, those mercenaries arrive to their employer with the package, which turned out to be the Carnage symbiote and the boss being Norman Osborn.

Then he would be called upon to by the current Sorcerer Supreme, Loki in absence of Doctor Strange. Years ago, he owed Spidey a favor and he just wanted to return it now but after a brief adventure together, the latter used it in most unexpected way Laufeyson could ever think of.

Meanwhile, Osborn unleashed the symbiote after repeatedly failing to restore his madness by mystical, psychological or surgical ways. It tries to take over but he offered to teach it becoming more sadistic starting with killing two of his own henchmen.

Carnage is intrigued by Osborn's method of torturing and wanted more but Norman agrees to that for being in full control. Not only does it repair his facial appearance, the symbiote ejected all nanites from his body that was stopping him from becoming Green Goblin.

Alchemax C.E.O. Liz Allan asks Flash Thompson to be present as Agent Anti-Venom during one of their upcoming presentation. There, Phil Urich showed up as Goblin King with his minions, which results in a fight and Peter ended up hitting the jackpot with Mary Jane Watson after the fight.

Peter and Mary Jane were at her apartment passionately making out and reminiscing about their past times together but then remember about their reason for splitting up seeing his costume underneath. Liz asks Flash again to try and retrieve the exploding metal tritium from Goblin King.

In one of his abandoned his gentleman's club, Osborn was talking to someone about Spider-Man whom he abducted and had blindfolded. Hearing some noise downstairs, he goes to check and confronts Phil, who he kills by ripping his heart out when Goblin King attacked him with a flame sword.

Norman came back monologuing to his prisoner explaining how he is going to deal with the Wall-Crawler but his hostage pointed out how Green Goblin has failed over and over in past only to fail each time and accidentally spills a hint.

With that, he managed to deduce the secret identity of the hero and his captive is revealed to be none other than J. Jonah Jameson. He then raids into Daily Bugle looking for the Web-Head and these two gets into a fight. GG threatened everyone with tritium explosives and Spidey managed to contain the blast.

Osborn got impaled on a girder and faking his dying state, he calls Parker near to thank him. Then he turned into a goblin/symbiote hybrid called Red Goblin. With his newfound power, Carnage/Goblin proves to overwhelming for Spider-Man alone.

He offers to leave him alone if he gives up being hero or kill each and everyone he loves. Even with help from his friends Anti-Venom, Clash, Human Torch, Miles Morales and Silk, Pete didn't stand a chance.

Amazing Spider-Man – Red Goblin

Despite Spider-Man having an impressive Rogue's Gallery, his villains can get a bit repetitive over times. In 2018, Marvel Comics hired writer Christos Gage (Civil War – House of M, House of M – Avengers) and Dan Slott (She-Hulk, Silver Surfer) to solve that problem in "Red Goblin" storyline.

Artists Jim Cheung (Avengers – The Children's Crusade, New Avengers – Illuminati), Giuseppe Camuncoli (Darth Vader – Imperial Machine, Darth Vader – Legacy's End) and Stuart Immonen (Fear Itself, Inferno) delivered illustrations for issues # 794-801 of Amazing Spider-Man monthly ongoing series.

Go Down Swinging

Green Goblin has been a terrible menace who terrorized Peter Parker on personal level and in his super-heroism. Carnage is another psychopath who is nearly as ruthless but a lot more chaotic. When two of these terrible personas merges and creates a new one, it surely is a live horror show. With a slow build-up, the plot eventually delivers more twists and turns than readers have probably bargained for.

Throughout the arc, references of the events from One More Day, Secret Empire and The Clone Conspiracy were made. Apparently, it took place between "Hunt For Wolverine" and "Return of Wolverine" crossover events and Wolverine even showed up in a cameo in the first issue of the story.

Venom – Homecoming | Comics

Former Army Ranger Lee Price was thinking about how life choices are so easy for bad guys and how it takes a lot of strength to do the right thing at all times to be a good guy. He is currently looking for a job in New York City just to pay his rents and his friend Tony has set him up with Mac Gargan for an interview. Trying to intimidate his new recruit, Gargan asks him if he has ever killed anyone and what was the reason for his discharge, to which Lee responds by saying, he can kill people if needed and two of his fingers blew out in the line of duty, which has classified him as "disabled".

Meanwhile, the Venom symbiote was wandering without a host for some time after being separated from Flash Thompson. When Lee and his friends showed up at their spot at that night for the job Gargan offered, it was an exchange between Tombstone's gang and Black Cat's gang. It went sour and Tombstone's people start pulling their guns and then suddenly out of nowhere, the symbiote arrives at the scene and almost immediately bonded with Lee. Surprisingly enough, Lee gained total control over the suit and trashed his enemies.

He then kills his own peers and a homeless man to eradicate all evidence from scene before taking all the crates with him to his home. Back at his place, his suit was having a psychic struggle with Lee over taking control on him but it fails due to his training in army. The next day, he goes to meet crime boss Black Cat to return her goodies back to her and decides to join her gang. Seeing Mac Gargan working for her, the symbiote protests his idea and even made him vomit to create a scene, which Gargan finds quite fishy.

When Lee returned to his apartment, he stumbled onto an assassin named Firebug, who is here on behalf of his boss to make him pay for murdering Tombstone's gang. As the guy had power of pyrokinesis, Venom finds it hard to fight back but to save Lee's life, it helped anyway. At that very moment, FBI Agent Coyle Bagman and Wambaugh, who were keeping an eye on Lee decides to intervene and take him into custody. Lee escapes but the agents find him again, forcing to work for them whether he likes it or not as they are capable of neutralizing him anytime they want if he doesn't comply.

Deciding to unravel what is really at play with her new hired gun Lee Price, Black Cat sends him to scare off a Daily Bugle reporter from a story he's been working on, where Gargan tags along with him as Scorpion. The assignment quickly turned into a fight between the two. When footage of their brawl goes live on social media, it catches the eyes of Spider-Man and he decides to bump in. Still, things start getting out of hand and the person who has the most experience with symbiotes; Eddie Brock enters the scene.

Venom – Homecoming

Marvel Comics
hires comic-book writer Mike Costa (Web Warriors of the Spider-Verse – Electroverse, Web Warriors of the Spider-Verse – Spiders Vs.) and artist Gerardo Sandoval (Age of Apocalypse – Warzones!, Korvac Saga – Warzones!) to cook up a brand-new storyline for their re-launch of new Venom monthly ongoing title in 2017. Classic Spider-Man villains Black Cat and Scorpion also made special appearance into this arc which collects first six issues from the series. Plus, a new host for Klyntar is found in Lee Price, who has demonstrated his capability as a psychotic killer and to become a notorious villain.

Deadliest Fanged Monster

One of Spider-Man's arch nemesis for years, Venom returns with his third ongoing monthly series but this time, the suit didn't return as "Lethal Protector" Eddie Brock was during his run, nor "Agent of the Cosmos" it became with Flash Thompson. This time, the alien symbiote finds a host that is evil and it would still be an understatement to describe him. Things will go crazy if he ever stumbles onto another deadly symbiote Carnage in Venom suit or worse, if Carnage chose him as new host. The series will explore new turn of events in next storyline "Land Before Crime" and paves a way for a few more in line.

Champions – Change The World | Comics

In New Jersey, at Khan Family residence, Kamala Khan was having breakfast with her family and was thinking about prior events that took place three days ago while her father Yusuf Khan asks her why is she not out much lately. She recalls her last mission with The Avengers at Queens, when she was busy balancing a derailed train as Giant Girl in the middle of a fight against Wrecking Crew. She managed to save hundreds of passengers of that train while Sam Wilson and Jane Foster smites Thunderball and Piledriver of the gang down as Captain America and Thor.

As her teammates wrapped things up after taking down the bad guys, she asks them about their agenda on battle damage nearby and how their fight is constantly disrupting civilian lives. Vision agrees with her and points out how people are angry at them because of their recent internal skirmish. They needs to earn that trust back. Her argument on the topic with Captain America has proved his points invalid to her as Ms. Marvel leaves the team while Jane Foster's Thor shockingly watched an Avenger quit again. Being bored sitting in home, she called her friends Miles Morales and Sam Alexander to meet her.

Champions – Change The World | Comics

At George Washington Bridge, when Miles and Sam showed up as Spider-Man and Nova, they thought Ms. Marvel was about to request them to re-join The Avengers but she reveals that she already quit. Kamala explains to them that they should be forming a team who actually cares about super-heroics and can make an actual difference. Miles suggests enlisting extraordinary young hero Amadeus Cho AKA Totally Awesome Hulk to their team. Cho was inside a Kentucky hills coal mine at that time for a rescue mission, where Ms. Marvel, Nova and Spidey showed up to lend their hands.

With some coordinated plan, there four successfully rescued the miners trapped inside and Cho then vouched for his gaming partner Viv Vision to be included as well. Riding in Cho's Meat Wagon, they all reached at Vision's house and Amadeus explains to the three ex-Avengers how they need to tap into worldwide events to get involved. He suggested making Viv as their personal trouble-alert because of her built in Wi-Fi multiprocessors. To demonstrate her ability of filtering urgent problems from web, Viv picked up footage of captive girls in a cargo seeking help.

They all quickly rushed to the source of that video transmission to confront a demented clown called Pagliacci with his crews to stop them from deporting those captive girls. After they successfully foiled his attempt of human trafficking, Kamala announces themselves on behalf of her friends as The Champions by handing Pagliacci over to authorities. However, while they celebrate their first victory and there is more to come, there is one more member to add to their ranks who is none other than a time displaced young X-Men leader Cyclops.

A 2017 crossover event, "Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy" is mostly centered on a five-issue Spider-Man limited series from Marvel Comics, written by Christos Gage (Civil War – House of M, Thunderbolts – Secret Invasion) and Dan Slott (Spider-Man – Big Time, Spider-Man – Dying Wish), while Jim Cheung (Avengers – The Children's Crusade, New Avengers – Illuminati) served as artist and Gabriele Dell'Otto (Annihilation – Nova, Annihilation – Ronan) provided cover arts. Although, the story at first seemed like a repetitive clash between Spider-Man and The Jackal, it unfolds as more.

The Jackal’s Master Plan

Parker Industries and New U Technologies being responsible for a dystopian future seemed like a fresh take on the series. Scarlet Spider and Spider-Gwen was also enjoyable because they both played their important part that helped the story advance further while Peter Parker did his part. A huge gauntlet of fallen enemies of everyone's favorite wall-crawler including Big Man, Eduardo Lobo, Barton Hamilton's version of Green Goblin, Hitman, Hobgoblin, Jack O'Lantern, Kangaroo, Massacre, Mirage, Montana, Mysterio, Ox, Rose, Spencer Smythe, Spider-Slayer, Stilt-Man and Tarantula showed up.

Mysteries regarding The Living Brain and consciousness of Otto Octavius are finally cleared up by him. Also, the ambiguity around Miles Warren's identity came to a conclusion that even the most veteran fans probably haven't probably guessed. A brand-new monthly ongoing Ben Reilly – Scarlet Spider series with its first storyline titled "Back In The Hood" by Peter David (Hulk – Destruction, The Other – Evolve or Die) and Mark Bagley (Hulk – Banner DOA, Venom – Lethal Protector) begins publication immediately after these events along with monthly Amazing Spider-Man series.

Civil War II | Comics

Because of Black Bolt detonating a Terrigen Bomb during the time Thanos came to invade New Attilan looking for his son (Infinity), a new generation of Inhumans called NuHumans is introduced to the world. Among them was Ulysses Cain, a NuHuman with near-accurate precognitive abilities, who prophesied of an upcoming dystopian future. This came in handy when The Avengers successfully stopped an invasion of a Celestial Destructor in Earth, with help from A-Force, Inhumans, The Ultimates and X-Men.

Doctor Strange and the combined effort of the magic wielders were able to send the Celestial back to its own dimension. As the heroes learned about Ulysses at the celebratory party of their victory, Captain Marvel wanted to recruit him to The Ultimates, whereas Iron Man argues over the logic of trying to stop something before it even takes place. However, in an attempt to apprehend Thanos according to Ulysses' visions, Carol Danvers and her team ambushed The Mad Titan, resulting in the death of War Machine and She-Hulk ended up in coma.

An infuriated Tony Stark then kidnaps Ulysses from New Attilan to further study the true nature of his powers, leading Tony into conflict with Medusa, Crystal and Karnak of The Inhumans. When Black Panther deduced that Karnak is about to destroy the Stark Tower in retaliation, the combined force of The Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Ultimates rushed to the spot to stop him. As Tony runs tests on him, Ulysses projected another vision regarding The Hulk, as he will go into a rampage and kill The Avengers.

Carol approaches a de-powered Bruce Banner in his secret base to come out and cooperate but Hawkeye shoots him dead with an arrow after Beast confirms of Banner is experimenting to regain his powers. Tony show to Captain America, Captain Marvel and Medusa that Ulysses' visions are actually probabilities of possible future, not absolute truth and he revealed it to the world. Carol still refuses to stop using Ulysses' visions to stop possible world-ending threats.

However, things got a bit escalated when she arrested a citizen named Alison Green, believed to be an agent of Hydra based on a prediction Ulysses made but was unable to prove her of any guilt. When Tony got her out of custody, Carol attempts to arrest Tony Stark and he brought over the team of All-New X-Men and The Avengers to confront her. Then Alpha Flight and Guardians of the Galaxy joins Carol against Tony and then Ulysses has a vision of Miles Morales killing Steve Rogers.

Hero Against Hero

Where the previous conflict centers around Captain America and Iron Man parted ways on moral standpoint of a government decision, this time Tony Stark stands ground for something that he believes against the current Captain Marvel; Carol Danvers. Their disagreement turned into a clash when Tony's best friend James Rhodes died in the line of duty and he believed Carol was the one responsible for Rhodey being killed in the first place. Not only the event spawned many tie-in limited series and opening for new potential storylines, it also came in par to 2016's superhero movie Captain America – Civil War from Marvel Studios.
