Dark Reign – The Sinister Spider-Man
 | Comics
Previously known as the second-string villain Scorpion, Mac Gargan, have bonded with the alien symbiote Klyntar and became the third host, and the second Venom. Now on the Dark Reign period, he took the place of Spider-Man in Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers as Sinister Spider-Man. With the traditional super heroes out of the scene, Gargan is perhaps having the best time of life as people sees him as a celebrated hero and they also thinks him to be the actual Spider-Man. Though Osborn has a positive image of him and his team to maintain, Gargan goes out to play hero when he met another second string villain General Wolfram robbing a bank. He stops Wolfram with almost no effort at all, to impress by standing girls to take out and steals the money of loot from Wolfram after chewing his hand off for no apparent good reason.

He then goes to a stripper club to spend the loot, where he found a stripper to fall for named Cherri and then calling her Candy, Gargan took her with him to the Avengers Tower. But upon having a conversation about his reckless behavior with Osborn, he kills the stripper later and set her body to the apartment of J. Jonah Jameson; Mayor of New York City, to frame him. As Jonah approached Osborn regarding the matter, Gargan is sent to help him up. Meanwhile, a group called “The Redeemers” visits Wolfram to join them along with The Redeemer, Hippo, Doctor Everything, Dementoid and Eleven; villains who formerly lost limbs to the Sinister Spider-Man and wants revenge on him.

Avengers - The Initiative – Disassembled | Comics

Following the Secret Invasion of Skrulls, superheroes started losing their faith and credibility from people's mind; ushering a "Dark Reign" of evil on the nation. Under Norman Osborn's control, Iron Man is replaced as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Initiative and everything it used to stand for is now completely changed. Worst of all, The Avengers are gone from the scene, now acting from the shadows as Secret Avengers.

To avenge their defeat over Earth and its populace, the Skrulls have implanted a mole of their own; the murderous Thor clone known as Ragnarok (who killed Goliath during Civil War) that has recently resurfaced after blasting Baron Von Blitzschlag upon mentioning that he is not the real “one”.

He went on rampage, only to be opposed by the currently outlaw team of New Warriors led by former Avenger member Justice. Last but not least, the identity of the mysterious member of the Shadow Initiative member Mutant Zero is finally revealed to everyone else of the team by Taskmaster and they are shocked at the revelation of the person who has four different persona to deal with and a history with Daredevil.

Deadpool – Secret Invasion | Comics

The Skrull Invasion has thrown the entire superhero community off-balance but for Deadpool, it's just Monday!

The shape-shifting alien race of Skrulls have started taking over Earth under everyone's nose by posing as government officials, military, Mutants and even infiltrating the ranks of major known super-heroes everywhere. To establish a new world order in their image, they are attacking on various places with their armada ships to take over.

A Skrull ship from invading force showed up over a baseball stadium while a game was on progress. While they were explaining their agenda to audience, their scan detects a non-human life form in the field which interests them slightly. Commander Ak'strk of the warship notices a game mascot and is appeared to be heavily armed.

After immediately gunning the poor mascot down from the armada ship, they sent a small unit of Skrulls to take a closer look at it for examination. What they thought as a costume is actually body armor and see the dome above them closing. From inside the mascot, Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool reveals himself to his baffled audience.

Since they haven't marked him as a significant threat, none of them initially recognized the Merc with a Mouth. While the Skrulls try to figure out who he is, DP was kicking butt and cutting them to pieces before he cleared the civilians out of the field. The warship fired again to take him down and another unit was sent believing he is neutralized.

However, the ground troop find the mascot body armor empty and deploys Super-Skrull as Dee Pee was on top of their ship, blowing it up with explosives he brought. Wade came crushing up from the roof, holding their General of the armada at gunpoint but almost immediately surrenders himself to them, expressing his wish to join their ranks.

Apparently, Wade was trying to make an impression by showing off but not buying it, Super-Skrull came at him. Though initially skeptical on his claims about wanting to side with them, they do recruit him considering his past of being a fine assassin created by Weapon X and possessing the accelerated healing factor in his genes to use it for their own need.

So, their sci-ops division took Wade in and they ran all sorts of experiment on him and his unique DNA is put into the mix to the genesis matrix of the new batch of Super-Skrulls. As the next-gen of soldiers is born, they took out the whole squadron of previous super-soldiers during exercise session with ease using their newfound madness.

DP intends to train the new squad so that they could stand against heroes like Black Panther, Cyclops and Iron Man but ended up leading them against each other. Soon, it appears that what Deadpool claimed at first place is not entirely true to the word and someone else is backing him up here on a deep-cover mission as well.

Upon dealing with the alien shape-shifters, DP was about to hit a major payday but he screwed up parts of the deal and got no money in the end. After sitting ducks for months, Wade is broke now and turned to his old pal Colonel Zeke for some work.

He asks Wilson to go to Eastern Europe for bringing back his former-supermodel wife and kill a plastic surgeon named Dr. Druek Lovosno who has turned her into a flesh-eating zombie for a million bucks. From the start, it looks like a botched up job and Wade smells of double-crossing right from the moment he stepped into it.

Deadpool Vol 01 – Secret Invasion (Hardcover)

With the major crossover event, "Secret Invasion" on progress, this three part story is a tie-in plot devised by writer Daniel Way (Bullseye – Greatest Hits, Ghost Rider – Vicious Cycle) and artist Paco Medina (Legendary Star-Lord – Face It, I Rule, Venom – Run). The creative team is back again with an anti-hero of Marvel Comics, Deadpool.

Collecting first five issues of the second monthly ongoing series of the controversial character, we are advanced towards another major crossover event "Dark Reign". Unlike his previous work, Medina toned down his drawings to a less bulky structures and it looks as good as the story with a traditional quirky tale of the merc.

One of The Skrulls

Following the events of "Wolverine – Origins – Deadpool", Wade Wilson went after the Skrulls as he miserably failed to do a job involving Wolverine and his son Daken. When the Skrulls attack on a baseball stadium during their worldwide invasion, Deadpool shows up to take them all out by himself as part of a new assignment.

If not an insane person, who else would dare to call an enraged Super-Skrull "Chilly McHotpants" to get on his nerves and then try to take him on in a close combat? Special guest appearance from Nick Fury and Norman Osborn would have major impact for the build of plot towards upcoming tie-in story "Deadpool – Dark Reign".

Secret Invasion – Inhumans | Comics

Black Bolt is revealed to be a Skrull and Queen Medusa set out to find former king of Inhumans alongside Royal Family members.

To a group of young Inhumans, story of Kree-Skrull War and a tale of enmity between those alien races were being told by Karnak. Whereas Skrulls were blessed with evolution, Kree couldn't evolve any further and therefore set to experiment that gave birth to their race and they have strength of family bond that makes them strong.

Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Tony Stark reaches out to Queen Medusa and her cousin Crystal to show them the Skrull corpse that was posing as Black Bolt. He admits that even he couldn't tell who it was and she angrily states that she is aware of secret meetings on Earth her husband frequently attends to but none is sure when he was switched.

Iron Man urges her that they all should prepare to fight a great looming threat but she simply walks away with the corpse. On Attilan, she presents it in front of Genetics Council and declares that they all are at war. She wants to bring her husband back at once but his brother Maximus suggests that Skrulls have most likely killed him.

This news didn't sit well with many, particularly with Gorgon who thinks Karnak could be an imposter as he sees things for what they truly are and he somehow couldn't detect these shape-shifting aliens among them. However, it took a little bit of convincing from Triton for him to eventually calm down and let his cousin go.

That night, Medusa saw a shadow in her quarters that she thought to be Blackagar Boltagon but turns out to be a Skrull. She takes down her attacker and subjected him to vicious torture in Terrigen chambers for answers. More of their sleeper agents start attacking Attilan and their populace only to meet with serious resistance.

Medusa then leads a cavalry of Crystal, Gorgon, Karnak, Lockjaw and Triton into space to rescue her husband. Leaving their people to fend themselves, members of Royal Family heads to uncharted territory and arrives at Kree space. Medusa asks for help from Ronan the Accuser to find Blackagar but he is reluctant for an alliance.

Since they already lost to Skrulls, he is less interest in helping them but agrees to help them on condition of Crystal becoming his bride. Inhuman Queen accepts his terms despite objections from her sister. Karnak managed to work out a crack in Skrull communications and asks his family to split up in order to exploit its weaknesses.

Crystal and Medusa visits Earth to get a Skrull captive from Thundra but ended up fighting each other over their differences. Gorgon and Karnak are sent to Rigel 3 for retrieving a recording android to get necessary algorithm. Triton goes to watery planet Pelagia to find a secret beacon and also tackle an entire legion of its inhabitants.

Elsewhere in deep space, a wounded Black Bolt appears to be in captivity and a Skrull scientist working on using his powerful voice as a weapon for Skrull Empire. To learn more of his powers and invoke emotion within him, they reveal capturing his son Ahura as well, who is under care of a Skrull with powers of Emma Frost and Jean Grey.

His handler tries to locate what makes his emotion click and finds it in his queen who has been living with Black Bolt impostor. Held aboard warship Ryb'ik, Blackagar is being readied up to use his voice to destroy Attilan with a giant amplifier device.

Secret Invasion – Inhumans

With "Secret Invasion" crossover event taking over Marvel Universe, even Inhumans are not left out from taking part and a four-part limited series is conceived by writer Joe Pokaski (Ultimatum – March On Ultimatum, Ultimatum – X-Men/Fantastic Four) and artist Tom Raney (Black Widow – Deadly Origin, Dark Reign – Hawkeye).

Though Inhumans typically stay out of Earthly affairs but Skrulls have reached for them directly and replaced their leader Black Bolt. They had a plan to use him as a weapon to destroy his own people and then possibly against heroes of Earth.

Sometime after events of "Silent War", Blackagar was taken captive by an ambush when he was going to meet his friends in Illuminati and is replaced by an imposter. Then Hulk returned from his exile in space and attacked him. "World War Hulk" almost blew up cover of his replacement but it survived and become very close to Medusa.

For long, Black Bolt impersonator would not reveal its true self to anyone and play along until Iron Man would bring corpse of Elektra-Skrull to show off fellow Illuminati members (New Avengers – Illuminati). Although it took some efforts from the heroes but they successfully managed to kill it by impaling on a giant slab of rock.
