Superman – Imperious Lex | Comics

Now that Darkseid is gone, Lex Luthor is chosen to take the throne of Apokolips but he wants Superman to be their leader.

In absence of Darkseid, chaos rages on planet Apokolips and its inhabitants are tearing it down for control. Granny Goodness and her Furies, Kalibak, Kanto and Steppenwolf are running rampant without a master. A soldier named Ardora and an old Prophet believes order and peace can still be established if an iron-willed hand sits on the throne.

On Metropolis, Lex Luthor and Superman works together to stop a gang of bank robbers from fleeing police. When he returned to LexCorp, Luthor is immobilized with a restraining helmet before being abducted by Ardora and old prophet to have his destiny fulfilled as God of Apokolips and quickly teleported back via Boom-Tube.

Big Blue returns home to spend time with his family by going out with his son Jon and wife Lois Lane. Both he and Jon hear a transmission sent by Lex in Kryptonian frequency, which he managed to send over before being taken out and asks Superman to meet him LexCorp tower but Clark ignores it thinking it was not important.

After dinner and movies, the Kents are approached by a bunch of LexCorp robots with a pre-recorded message from Luthor for help, unaware of his secret identity. They become hostile upon denial of his request, forcing Superman and Superboy to fight back. Equipped with a Mother Box, Man of Steel and his family are transported to Apokolips.

Three of them ended up on different parts of the fiery planet, separated from each other. Lois is found by Mad Harriet, who took her as a prisoner but she fought alongside Female Furies and is taken in by Granny. Superboy came across a group of Apokoliptian soldiers and eventually saves a pack of Hunger Dogs from captivity.

Meanwhile, Lex was explaining how he is not their destined ruler according to prophecy and presents Superman to them using a Boom-Tube when they assumed him as an imposter. These two former arch-rivals try to evade their Apokoliptian followers and hides. Luthor resonates to an angry Big Blue that he can truly inspire hope among them.

As they were distracted arguing, Kalibak ambushed them out of nowhere and takes them captive. Thinking Darkseid is at Apokolips' core, he has been using Chaos Cannon to dig him out and all of a sudden, his armies are attacked by Female Furies. Lois frees her husband amidst this chaos and Superboy joins with his pack of Hunger Dogs.

At one point, Kalibak shuts down all fiery pits of Apokolips by venting its core and ushered a complete darkness over it. Though Ardora and the blind priest comes to conclusion that none of them are worthy to take Darkseid's throne except for Superman and decides to pledge their servitude to him rather than forcing it on his shoulder.

They arrive with Omega Fleet and Parademons to assist Man of Steel, right after he saved an unconscious Lex. Granny and her Furies are captured, Superman and his family vouched for peace for their ravaged planet before returning back to Earth.

On anniversary of the destruction of Krypton, Superman and Superboy goes on a space journey together when Fortress of Solitude picked up signal of distant a planet called Galymayne is about to face the same fate as their home planet but they could really do very little against the stern religious faith of its people to be doomed.

Superman – Imperious Lex

Following inception of DC Rebirth crossover event, monthly ongoing Superman series from DC Comics has been seeing a steady run with a roadmap created by comic-book writer Peter Tomasi (Super Sons – Planet of the Capes, Super Sons – When I Grow Up) and currently continuing in sixth storyline titled "Imperious Lex" in 2018.

Aided him in illustrations throughout were talented artists Barry Kitson (JLA – Year One, Secret Invasion – Fantastic Four), Doug Mahnke (Final Crisis, Justice League Elite), Ed Benes (Justice League of America – Second Coming, Justice League of America – Tornado's Path) and Patrick Gleason (Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro Corps War).

Escape from Suicide Planet

"Imperious Lex" collects issues #33-36 and #39-41 from fourth ongoing volume of Superman and features two separate stories. Entire Kent family had to take a tour to one of the most unpleasant quadrant of entire galaxy; Apokolips to save it from a raging civil war when Lex Luthor dragged them into a mess of his creating.

After he took up the mantle of Man of Steel to become a savior of Metropolis, he met with skepticism from everyone but he worked with Big Blue to earn his trust and built a working system by putting aside their differences. Whatever trust they had was gone because of his most recent actions that jeopardized Clark's personal life.

Lois Lane has temporarily joined Female Furies during her stay there and Superboy had the chance to fight alongside his father more than once. His adventure with Damian Wayne AKA Robin as Super Sons is also referenced earlier. Further adventure of this iconic father-son duo would be explored up next in "Bizarroverse" arc.

With his wife Lois Lane and boy Jon Kent, Clark is living the simple life he used to lead on Smallville. Jon is getting along fine with Kathy Branden, granddaughter of their neighbor Cobb.

At night, Batman and Robin pay a secret visit to Kent Farm to talk to Clark about something important about his son as Superboy secretly watches but all are caught and brought inside the house for some apple pie by Lois.

When Clark asked, Bruce revealed that as a full healthy human-Kryptonian hybrid Jon have the capacity to surpass the great power of his father and by now, he should have had been at full power, whereas Jon can barely fly. The next morning, Cobb and Kathy arrives to deliver Bessie's fresh milk for Jon and Damian Wayne is introduced to them as Garth. As he departs, Cobb pats on Krypto's head and it appears that he has some psychic influence on the dog.

Later, Batman is nowhere to be found which even surprises Damian. Robin, Superboy and Superman go on a patrol over Hamilton County to locate Bruce but are interrupted by a giant squid creature they fought before in the arctic (Son of Superman).

With much less effort, the trio handled the situation but it was Jon's brash actions that saved lives in the end. Superman heads to Deadman's Swamp after sending the boys home. Damian and Jon were bickering while they were returning and as it started to become a fight, Kathy intervenes by chocking him up in the air with her telekinesis.

She even managed to redirect Jon's heat-vision. Meanwhile, Superman discovers Batman, Frankenstein, Robin, The Bride and many others stuck in some containment underground. Back home, Lois was getting worried upon having no words from her husband or son and go out investigate.

She is confronted by fellow townspeople Candice, Doc Brooks, Mayor Goodman, Mr. Martinez and Officer Haggart at her house and makes a break for it in the Batmobile using the Hellbat Gauntlet. She was eventually stopped by Cobb Branden and Superman quickly rushed to the spot hearing her cry. Cobb is soon taken care of and Clark flies off with Lois.

She points out that lately, Hamilton County has become a target for various monstrosities and as he tries to help the people, Lois is severely injured in this chaos. Elsewhere, Jon is being forced to watch his friends and family in peril and sheds tears for them but then his mysterious captor came out of shadows and revealed himself as Manchester Black, one of Superman's old enemies.

Introducing Superboy Black

Even though it was a plot set on solo Superman comic series, the primary focus revolves around Clark's son Jon Kent, the new Superboy. There is even a scene where Clark lectures Jon about the consequences of choices he made much like the way actor Kevin Costner's character Jonathan Kent does to a young Clark Kent in 2013's Man of Steel film.

In pre-Flashpoint reality, Manchester Black used to hang out with his super-team The Elite but this Prime Earth version is aided by the group of Super-Elite. The story will be going onward followed by "Hopes and Fears" storyline as the series advances.

Superman Reborn | Comics

Following the entire world witnessing "The Final Days of Superman" while a Superman from another world was also present at the scene, a mysterious Clark Kent also showed up later, who is not a Man of Steel though.

During the Doomsday incident at Metropolis, this new "Clark" met Superman and Lex Luthor as they were already handling the situation, both of them very surprised to see him. He then starts having feelings for Lois Lane and she finds every similarity among him and her husband quite uncanny and disturbing as well.

Alarmed by a sudden breach at his Fortress of Solitude, Superman rushes there only to find out that Superwoman is in critical health condition and brought in by his friend Steel. As he tends to see Lana, his nemesis Blanque taunts him by calling his civilian name.

Superman figures out a way to save the life of Superwoman by putting her into a Kryptonian battle armor from Fortress. At the same time, a team of explorers led by Hank Henshaw were trying to locate Superman's Fortress of Solitude but things go wrong for them.

They suddenly saw fire in their house and then everything around them starts getting erased, including their son Jon. Superman and Lois heads straight to Metropolis seeking for answers and Clark's doppelganger was not present there at his own apartment.

Out of the blue, he showed up there and managed to stop an enraged Superman from attacking him. According to him, he was locked up in that cell because Man of Steel never cared for him and then he even solved Clark's secret identity problem.

When Kal-El fails to deduce who this mysterious fellow really is, he starts dropping hints by frequently changing into Bizarro, Brainiac, Cyborg Superman, Doomsday, Lex Luthor, Mongul and Parasite one by one, asking to say his name. Superman – Trials of the Super Sons | Comics

With Superman's own kid is the new Superboy on the block, friends and enemies started to take notice.

After his recent fight with an entity known as Eradicator (Son of Superman) and then tackling the Kryptonian monstrosity Doomsday on Metropolis (Path of Doom), Superman agrees that he and his family has been through a lot upon arriving on Prime Earth.

So, he took his time off from being Man of Steel to take Lois and Jon to Hamilton County Fair, even though his wife is really skeptical about his break from heroism. Clark does his best to keep his promise of no caped-adventure to her but couldn't help without interfering on a robbery that was taking place during the fair.

Later, at his Fortress of Solitude on Arctic Circle, Clark was helping Jon with his school science project and accidentally they both gets teleported to Dinosaur Island along with Krypto! The cube Jon has been working on was the thing that brought them here and as the father-son duo try to get it, they are attacked by giant fish and pterodactyls.

Amidst the middle of prehistoric creatures and remains of World War II, Clark and Jon discovers Captain William Storm of the World War II military unit called "The Losers" alive, who helps his best to send the Kents back to their home.

Superman – Trials of the Super Son | Comics

Maya Ducard AKA Nobody was sent by Damian Wayne to pick up Jon Kent from school as he was curious about the new Superboy, much to his father's dismay. Superman came crushing into the Batcave to rescue Jon as Batman expresses his concern over Superboy's lack of control on his near-limitless power.

Jon was able to calm them down from almost taking out each other in a heat of the situation. Damian's constant tease at Jon would make him engage in a fight with him and that led the brats to Batman's boot-camp, an attempt to make them learn to work together as a team, overseen by the Man of Steel himself.

Next up, Lois Lane goes to pay a visit to Editor Candice of the local newspaper, the Hamilton Horn but then all of a sudden, these two are being attacked in her office and chased by Frankenstein; agent of S.H.A.D.E. Since he wasn't after Lois, she uses her Hellbat Glove on him to save Candice.

Then taking Frankenstein's hover bike, they quickly ran off from the scene but he managed to latch on. Superman eventually finds out that Frankenstein is after his wife Lois Lane while he was actually after her Editor.

These two have traded a few blows with each other upon encounter until Clark's shotgun-wielding farmer neighbor Cobb Branden shot Frankenstein and stall him for a while till Superman came to punch him out. Frankenstein explains that he is after Candice, who was actually a purple skinned alien fugitive Kroog.

This alien is currently wanted by S.H.A.D.E. for acts of mass-murder on several planets. Soon, the four-armed Bride of Frankenstein barges in looking for the same person for collecting a considerable amount of bounty on its head and then their family issue came up in the middle to start a fight.
