Amazing Spider-Man – Absolute Carnage | Comics

Cletus Kasady is back at his scariest as Carnage with Spider-Man standing between him and young Dylan Brock.

Wrapping up some unfinished business with Dr. Curt Connors as Amazing Spider-Man following events of "Hunted" has cost Peter Parker a date with his lover Mary Jane Watson and she now wants to pursue a career in movies once again as she gets an offer from a new film director after her recent encounter with Francine Frye AKA Electro.

He insists that MJ should take this acting job but is also bothered to stay far away from her for two-long months. In between helping out Aunt May to reestablish F.E.A.S.T. Center and dealing with bunch of A.I.M. goons alongside his younger sister Teresa Parker to rescue a captured agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., he missed her seeing off to airport.

Lately, Peter is being haunted by a secret tormentor, who introduces himself as Kindred and is using Mysterio as a pawn for his schemes. More recently, one of his deceased enemies Cletus Kasady AKA Carnage is revived by a cult and bonded him with a dragon-like symbiote called Grendel to summon Knull, God of the Symbiotes.

Things all started back when Spidey along with few other heroes were abducted by Beyonder for his "Secret Wars" and he was looking for an upgrade for his tattered outfit. All he got from that strange device was a black ball that shrouds his body like a costume in black and white, which turned out to be an alien symbiote named Klyntar.

Though he eventually managed to get rid of it but then it found another host in Eddie Brock and together they became Venom. That was only a beginning as soon his symbiote spawned a deadlier offspring called Carnage and more. Many heroes and people he knew became hosts for them in one occasion or another even for a brief time.

Each time Klyntar bonds with someone, it leaves a genetic footprint known as Codex, which Kasady is currently after. Intending to stop him from doing so, Spidey and Venom team-up to gather former symbiote hosts in an attempt to safely extract those and their rescue starts with Norman Osborn, who is locked up in Ravencroft Institute.

Carnage arrives with a horde of his minions to take Osborn in and overwhelm the heroes into running. They gather all heroes who were former host to Klyntar symbiote to get their codices out using a machine before Kasady could. Yet he showed up with an army, which forced Spidey to move Dylan Brock and Normie Osborn into safety.

He locks down Eddie's son and his godson to safety before symbiote wearing Osborn comes to hunt them down. Bonding with Grendel symbiote and believing him to be Cletus Kasady, Norman becomes much stronger than his Green Goblin persona and savagely beats down Spider-Man with an inch of his life with almost no effort.

However, Osborn was previously visited by Kindred in his cell, who claimed to be a victim of his evil ways when he was a human. Although he desperately wanted to punish Norman but seeing him being consumed by someone else's psyche, Kindred spares him and implanted a demonic centipede in his brain, so he couldn't kill Spidey either.

Too beaten up to get back on his feet and fight Carnage, Peter goes through a flashback of past events seeing how he was unable to save people he cared about like Flash Thompson, Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn from him. When the madman tried to kill him, he gets incapacitated by Kindred's centipede and Pete got a second chance.

Red Goblin Rides Again

Upon return of a menacing serial killer named Cletus Kasady who is one of the greatest enemies of Spider-Man, heroes of Marvel Comics who has ever been a host to Klyntar symbiote are in complete disarray as he is hunting them all down for a genetic trace called Codex, so he can liberate God of the Symbiotes, Knull from his captivity.

While dealing with Dark Carnage and his minion army, Spidey got a little break from being taunted by Kindred and worrying about his troublesome roommate Boomerang. However, dangers brewing from end of "Behind The Scenes" regarding Spider-Man 2099 will pick up from where it left off and continue in "2099" storyline up next.

Amazing Spider-Man – Behind the Scenes | Comics

Mysterio is cooking something up as Spider-Man is taunted by an ominous bandaged figure and his Superior Foes return.

Ever since Peter Parker has started seeing his love of life Mary Jane Watson, he couldn't seem to catch a break in his personal life as well as Amazing Spider-Man. It started with a fake alien invasion by Mysterio, followed by Robot-Master and his Tri-Sentinels, Bar With No Name patrons, Thieves Guild of New York and Scorpion.

His most recent troubles came from Kraven the Hunter, who kidnapped a bunch of animal-themed villains and employed Arcade to arrange a grand hunt. During a face-off with last son of Kraven, a grim fate of MJ is shown to Spidey through a drug induced hallucination, caused by a green mist and he couldn't seem to shake that feeling off.

Thankfully, he came home to find her all right but a mysterious figure covered in bandages keeps taunting him from shadows. He takes Mary Jane for a night out but she notices him to be lost in thoughts and points that out. That centipede-carrying entity invaded his dreams and eventually revealed his name to Peter, startling him greatly.

In Ravencroft Institute, Quentin Beck AKA Mysterio was having a therapy session with his psychiatrist and narrating past events of his life that has lead to his suicide. Beck seems to be worried about a secret tormentor but is terrified to even name him but his consultant insists that he must face truth to clear out all of his delusions.

That demonic entity suddenly showed up there only to viciously killing his minion while his therapist escaped. Calling himself as "Kindred", he also did this to prevent Mysterio from revealing his true identity to Pete before its time. Beck's psychiatrist Dr. Ludwig Rinehart soon gets a visit from him as well and his scheme got busted.

It appears that, Quentin Beck had brainwashed his therapist Dr. Winhorst into believing that he was Mysterio and got him killed. Meanwhile, Spider-Man gets into major trouble by missing out on a date with Mary Jane when he went looking for Dr. Curt Connors in his warehouse and gets busy fighting a legion of self-replicating giant robots.

After his confrontation with last son of Kraven earlier in Central Park, Connors has been hiding here to keep his family safe. Without his inhibitor chip to keep him in check, he can transform back to Lizard at any time and do horrible things that he will regret but Spidey managed to convince him to give it another shot for sake of his son Billy.

MJ called her friend and Peter's ex-girlfriend Carlie Cooper to accompany her and they met her old showbiz rival, Melanie Daniels. She invites MJ and Carlie to her show that got hijacked by Francine Frye AKA Electro, who took the aspiring actress hostage for ransom from internet but Mary Jane successfully foiled that plan with help from Carlie.

Following her rescue of Melanie, media makes MJ famous once again and her former agent calls her for a role in a movie. Unbeknown to her, Mysterio is serving as director and producer for that film based on a script given to him by Kindred.

Mayor Wilson Fisk sent cops to take Francine into custody when their vehicle is attacked by all-female Sinister Syndicate, who recruited her into their team. Beetle, Electro, Lady Octopus, Scorpia, Trapstr and White Rabbit decides s to fight patriarchy in organized crime profession by going after known super-villain Boomerang together.

In an epilogue, Spider-Man was sitting on a rooftop and eating pizza as he looks at a flock of pigeons making rounds. He decides to go back to work after finishing up his final slice and offers a nearby one his crust, which it snatches away. He shockingly sees the bird transforming into a mini-symbiote monster before devouring his meal.

Amazing Spider-Man – Lifetime Achievement | Comics

J. Jonah Jameson is about to receive lifetime achievement award from Mayor Wilson Fisk and Spider-Man had to come to his rescue.

During his time at Daily Bugle as its editor in chief, J. Jonah Jameson had been publishing one hit-piece after another claiming Spider-Man to be a public menace to raise awareness, never knowing that one of his employee and young freelance photographer Peter Parker was actually the man behind that mask he hated for so long.

Most recently, Parker made a huge revelation of his identity to Jonah and entrusted him with responsibility of its secrecy. It made things awkward for both of them but JJJ is trying hard to make up for his mess. Although people are pretty skeptical about his abrupt change of stance on Spidey but Jameson is adamant that they all owe him.

Next thing he knows, Jameson received an invitation from Mayor Wilson Fisk to receive a lifetime achievement award from their mutual friend Spider-Man, which Peter saw him announcing on TV. He showed up at Century Club in a Limo and is greeted by Spidey but due to years of habit, started shouting at him immediately.

Parker tries to reason with him about not showing up at Fisk's party because of his criminal past but JJ believes that Parker owes him this, claiming Jonah has been trying to repair his reputation but Pete reminds him that Jameson himself has ruined it. Seeing no apparent way of convincing Webhead, he walks alone to the party.

The Enforcers showed up out of nowhere to kidnap Jonah and engage in a brawl with Wall-Crawler. Having no luck at faring against him, these old-school mobsters try to shoot Jameson only for Spidey trying to save him next and get beaten. Waking up after a while, they find themselves among the company of Mac Gargan AKA Scorpion.

A mystery voice from unknown brought J. Jonah Jameson here to tell him his own story and starts projecting events from his life. It shows how he made Spider-Man a sworn enemy to how his insane obsession to take him down eventually led to Gargan being subjected to experiment, birth of Human Fly and creation of Spider-Slayer.

Then he met his second wife Marla and his father but they all died including Frederick Foswell, fellow Daily Bugle reporter and friend turned crime boss named Big Man. However, he Jameson turned out to be a traitor when he finally become pro-Spider-Man after year of rallying people into fight against "Webbed Menace", turning his back.

To punish him for his alliance with Web-Slinger, his unforeseen enemy unleashes Mac Gargan, Human Flies and a Spider-Slayer. Among a bunch of clones and LMDs, only Scorpion was the real deal and with a little help from JJJ, they managed to defeat them all until a giant-sized version of Big Man breaks in to crush them for good.

A ghost of his past came back to haunt him for stance he took lately but things are resolved over as he worked with Spider-Man. Meanwhile, a beaten up Gargan got his payday cancelled moments before he is kidnapped by Black Ant and Taskmaster. He wakes up to find himself captive alongside with Cobra, Tarantula, Stegron and Vulture in a cell.

Following his association with Big Man earlier, assassin-for-hire Arcade lost a huge sum of money and then Kraven the Hunter came to Arcade Industries with a business proposition. Peter and Mary Jane joined Dr. Curt Connors and his family for lunch when May Parker got caught between a Rhino chase by hired mercenaries.

Amazing Spider-Man – Friends and Foes | Comics

Peter Parker's roommate Boomerang takes him to the Bar With No Name only to get in a brawl with a mob of super villains!

Earlier, Adrian Toomes chases one of his henchmen, Dougie as Vulture for stealing from him. Toomes picked him up from the car he was running in and got taken aback when the barbeque sauce on Dougie's t-shirt starts talking, only for Black Ant to come out punching before Taskmaster took him down with an electric net.

Peter Parker has been back on his rocker swinging as the Amazing Spider-Man he is and luckily got back with his supermodel girlfriend Mary Jane Watson once again. Many of his regular villains have sort of disappeared but he still cannot stop thinking about his roommate Fred Myers, who is also a known super criminal named Boomerang.

While they were making out in Peter's apartment, Fred was sneaking up on them like a creep and then introduces himself to MJ. Even though she thinks he is a decent guy and his other roommate Randy Robertson is all for giving Fred a second chance, Peter cannot bring himself to believe that a scumbag like that can change all of a sudden.

Previously, Boomerang has robbed the Museum of Natural History and took something that even got Mayor Wilson Fisk very interested. However, the former Kingpin never really admitted it to public and swept it under the rug for some unknown reason. Wearing his work costume, Fred takes Peter to the Bar with No Name to hang out for a night.

In actual, he took Pete there to win big at "Spider-Man Trivia Night" when he learned from Randy that he has been a photographer for Spidey and knows an awful lot about him. Although largely against the idea, Peter soon starts having a lot of fun answering trivia questions of his alter ego, surrounded by a room full of his worst enemies.

News of Fred being there reaches to Mayor Fisk and his assistant tries to reach out but it failed miserably because of Boomerang being a jerk. To teach him a lesson for his defiance, an extremely infuriated Fisk offers a hefty prize on his head that got every other patron of the bar interested in breaking the sacred rule of the Bar with No Name.

Things turned out pretty heated there and Peter is forced to team-up with one of his former foe to get out of the mess. Not only did they put up a great fight but Fred even took a blast from Scorcher to save his bunkmate. Fisk deices to go all out on them but the mysterious entity with a huge centipede then pays him a visit to stop him from doing that.

Odessa Drake took it upon her to restore the honor of Thieves Guild as its leader and announce their rebirth by sending each members of their group to steal anything and everything valuable from superhero community and Spider-Man is called in by Tony Stark when they swept clean entire Avengers Mansion and Hall of Armor in Stark Tower.

Their chaos has claimed Captain America's Shield, Cyclops' Visor, Eye of Agamotto from Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider's Hell Charger, Punisher's armory of weapons, Thor's hammer and even his Web-Shooters when he was in mid-air. Falling down with no hope of rescue, his old accomplice Black Cat suddenly snatches him out of nowhere.

Although she saved Spidey mid-freefall, the world-class cat burglar did not waste time to take a jab at him soon as they land for being a jerk after the lab accident earlier (Back to Basics). Now these two allies must set aside their differences once again to stop the uprising of Thieves Guild before it is too late for Odessa Drake to pull off a grand heist.

Amazing Spider-Man – Friends and Foes

Following the success of previous storyline "Back to Basics", writer Nick Spencer (Ant-Man – Second-Chance Man, Doctor Strange – Damnation) has returned to collaborate with artist Humberto Ramos (Champions – Change The World, Extraordinary X-Men – X-Haven) for his second arc in Amazing Spider-Man monthly ongoing comic-book series.

Titled "Friends and Foes", the story collects issues #06-10 from the series and explores Peter Parker's relation with one of the costumed enemies of his alter ego, Fred Myers AKA Boomerang in aftermath of "Secret Empire". Spencer has created new room for character development of this second-string mercenary, who is still playing coy.

Spidey also patches up his ties with Black Cat and these two goes on a buddy-cop adventure together against a newly formed Thieves Guild. More aspects of his relationship with Mary Jane are given focus and props to Marvel Comics for that. Peter's ex-girlfriend Carlie Cooper returns to inform her of a support group called the Lookups to join.

A mysterious enemy still watches over him from the shadows and it is definitely not Kraven the Hunter, who is also planning his own twisted plot. With more of his old adversaries will be popping out of nowhere with their uniquely sinister agenda and J. Jonah Jameson will tag along in his next action-packed adventure "Lifetime Achievement".
