Amazing Spider-Man – Behind the Scenes | Comics

Mysterio is cooking something up as Spider-Man is taunted by an ominous bandaged figure and his Superior Foes return.

Ever since Peter Parker has started seeing his love of life Mary Jane Watson, he couldn't seem to catch a break in his personal life as well as Amazing Spider-Man. It started with a fake alien invasion by Mysterio, followed by Robot-Master and his Tri-Sentinels, Bar With No Name patrons, Thieves Guild of New York and Scorpion.

His most recent troubles came from Kraven the Hunter, who kidnapped a bunch of animal-themed villains and employed Arcade to arrange a grand hunt. During a face-off with last son of Kraven, a grim fate of MJ is shown to Spidey through a drug induced hallucination, caused by a green mist and he couldn't seem to shake that feeling off.

Thankfully, he came home to find her all right but a mysterious figure covered in bandages keeps taunting him from shadows. He takes Mary Jane for a night out but she notices him to be lost in thoughts and points that out. That centipede-carrying entity invaded his dreams and eventually revealed his name to Peter, startling him greatly.

In Ravencroft Institute, Quentin Beck AKA Mysterio was having a therapy session with his psychiatrist and narrating past events of his life that has lead to his suicide. Beck seems to be worried about a secret tormentor but is terrified to even name him but his consultant insists that he must face truth to clear out all of his delusions.

That demonic entity suddenly showed up there only to viciously killing his minion while his therapist escaped. Calling himself as "Kindred", he also did this to prevent Mysterio from revealing his true identity to Pete before its time. Beck's psychiatrist Dr. Ludwig Rinehart soon gets a visit from him as well and his scheme got busted.

It appears that, Quentin Beck had brainwashed his therapist Dr. Winhorst into believing that he was Mysterio and got him killed. Meanwhile, Spider-Man gets into major trouble by missing out on a date with Mary Jane when he went looking for Dr. Curt Connors in his warehouse and gets busy fighting a legion of self-replicating giant robots.

After his confrontation with last son of Kraven earlier in Central Park, Connors has been hiding here to keep his family safe. Without his inhibitor chip to keep him in check, he can transform back to Lizard at any time and do horrible things that he will regret but Spidey managed to convince him to give it another shot for sake of his son Billy.

MJ called her friend and Peter's ex-girlfriend Carlie Cooper to accompany her and they met her old showbiz rival, Melanie Daniels. She invites MJ and Carlie to her show that got hijacked by Francine Frye AKA Electro, who took the aspiring actress hostage for ransom from internet but Mary Jane successfully foiled that plan with help from Carlie.

Following her rescue of Melanie, media makes MJ famous once again and her former agent calls her for a role in a movie. Unbeknown to her, Mysterio is serving as director and producer for that film based on a script given to him by Kindred.

Mayor Wilson Fisk sent cops to take Francine into custody when their vehicle is attacked by all-female Sinister Syndicate, who recruited her into their team. Beetle, Electro, Lady Octopus, Scorpia, Trapstr and White Rabbit decides s to fight patriarchy in organized crime profession by going after known super-villain Boomerang together.

In an epilogue, Spider-Man was sitting on a rooftop and eating pizza as he looks at a flock of pigeons making rounds. He decides to go back to work after finishing up his final slice and offers a nearby one his crust, which it snatches away. He shockingly sees the bird transforming into a mini-symbiote monster before devouring his meal.
