Venom – The Nativity | Comics

Eddie Brock is cured of a mental state of his symbiote and now back as Venom, who is getting chased by Spider-Woman.

Struggling with a metabolic disorder for some time, Eddie Brock was having an issue with his symbiote often lashing out uncontrollably and so, he sought out help from Liz Allen, C.E.O of Alchemax. She tells him that all reserve of the experimental serum developed for him was destroyed in his recent brawl with Anti-Venom and Spider-Man.

However, his symbiote's sickened state has been cured as a result of a cascading reaction when it was bonded to him and Flash Thompson lately. Happy to hear this great news, Eddie asks her out for dinner for celebrating a new beginning only to get declined but then they attempt to apprehend Looter as he was stealing from a rug store.

Seeing Venom sneaking up on him out of nowhere, he wet his pants in fear of getting maimed like before but instead of getting messy, Brock simply webs him up to hand him over to police. He is interrupted by Spider-Woman, who was keeping an eye on Looter and she clarifies her intent of taking Eddie into custody as well, leading to a fight.

While getting punched in the face, Venom asks her if Spider-Man didn't tell her about their most recent endeavor together. Despite his recent good behavior, Spider-Woman wants to bring him to justice for his past crimes and murders. This angered his symbiote, which asks Brock to fight her back but he decides to swing his way out of this.

He forced her to choose between saving Looter from falling to his death or chasing him and escapes thereby. Venom laments that they will not be credited for their heroic efforts and Eddie promises that he knows a better way. He talks to Jenn Kao of Fact Sheet as "Mr. Sym" to write front-page exposés on anti-hero Venom but fails anyway.

Eddie was not aware of Spider-Woman spying on him and she broke into his apartment that night by hitting him off with a Venom Blast. As she attempts to take an unconscious Brock to jail, his symbiote latched onto her and showed her many memories of its past offspring and how it needs him to be a hero until she agrees to leave him alone.

She tells Klyntar to watch over Eddie and keep him in line or she will hunt him down and it complies saying, she won't be alone. When he regained senses, his other vaguely describes to him how it made her go away by showing their secrets. Eddie Brock still suspects if his symbiote is keeping something from him and it reassures him otherwise.

In a haunting dream, he sees Carnage standing next to his deceased wife Anne Weying and Liz Allen, for a family reunion with Agony, Lasher, Phage, Riot and Scream bonded to their hosts before waking up in horror abruptly. Eddie suits up to go out for some fresh air and he came across Shocker at a jewelry shop where they fights briefly.

In another dream, he sees Liz is pushing a baby on a stroller and talking to Brock, which turns out to be a symbiote that ended up devouring her. He takes a walk to clear his mind and meets FBI Special Agent Claire Dixon, whom he thought have died fighting Carnage but she reminds how people he know have died and come back including himself.

She has apparently brought Anti-Symbiote Task Force with her to subdue him and knocks Venom out using incinerator drones. As Claire has yet to clear her intentions of capturing him, Klyntar informs Brock that they are about to spawn again. Their exchange is interrupted by Scorpion, who is here to bond with newest spawn of Venom.

Venom – Blood In The Water | Comics

Returning as "Lethal Protector" of dinosaur-people in New York, Venom becomes hunted by Kraven the Hunter.

Reunited with his Venom symbiote once again, Eddie Brock is back in action but realizes that something is wrong with his partner. It has become very aggressive lately and therefore, he seeks help from Alchemax C.E.O. Liz Allen to get a cure. She agrees to help in exchange for a job he is tasked with and gives him an experimental treatment.

When he sleeps, his symbiote watches news on TV and tries to learn what it means to be a hero. Next morning, they bond and swing across the city and head over to Alchemax to get their medicine from Dr. Steven. It influences Eddie into going out for patrol that night and takes out a small group of robbers inside a convenience store.

Observing its host when Brock is asleep, Klyntar reflects on his time of bonding with Spider-Man when it came to learn a number of complex emotions like guilt, agony and betrayal. For very first time of its life, it has been called a parasite and a monster. It also recalls bad memories of being attached to Mac Gargan and to Lee Price recently.

Klyntar realizes that while they both want to do heroic stuffs and feel loved, he disagrees a lot with Eddie and wonders if that makes it a monster! It had a better time with Flash Thompson, who helped it to become a true hero and gain salvation. Keeping its host in sleep, he visits the hospital to see a priest he brutalized earlier and have a pep talk.

In a correction facility at New York, three inmates decide to carry out a hit on a known super-villain who is powerless and pick Lee Price. However, they all are single handedly beaten down by him even without help from symbiote. Venom sneaks up on a dirty cop and a drug dealer only to knock them both down without eating their brains.

In his apartment, Brock notices that his "Other" is acting hostile again as they almost ate the cop but his symbiote points it out that it's just hungry. He then showed up at the Fact Channel for a job interview but given their lack of enthusiasm for truth, Eddie leaves and heads toward sewers to meet dinosaur people in hopes to find some food.

They all rejoice to see Venom and took him to a bonfire where they were roasting a Moloid. Knowing these creatures always are in groups, he is worried and then a horde of Moloids came through bursting walls with a subterranian beast. Both parties clash and Venom gets swallowed by mole monster as he was trying to make peace between them.

Before his people were able to rescue him, Venom rips out of its inside and pleads to both sides to stop. He returns a dead Moloid to its people, asking them to leave in peace before starting to feast on the mole monster's flesh. Elsewhere, Kraven the Hunter was looking for a hunt that he can pursue and notices an article on dinosaur-people in sewers.

He eventually reaches there attempting to kill one of them but his prey managed to escape and reaches out to Eddie Brock by tracking his scent. Sergei Kravinoff prepares himself to go on a full-scale hunt and came across Venom when he arrived at the sewers to kill more of dinosaur-people only to set a hidden bear-trap on him during their chase.

Venom was able to free himself and got shot by Kraven before he leaves with a promise of a rematch. A heavily wounded Eddie goes to see Dr. Steven at Alchemax Tower seeking help and is stitched up. Meanwhile, Mayor Wilson Fisk of New York has appointed a task force lead by Sergei to take care of humanoid dinosaur community for good.

Seeing this on TV news, Eddie suits up and goes back to sewers to get even with Kraven and he blends in by impersonating as a NYPD SWAT team members. When he finally gets to Kravinoff, Venom is blasted by sonic attack from his old enemy Shriek. He is slammed in a wall and soon buried under rubbles as Kraven proceeds to begin his hunt.

Following his successful stint on "Birth of Venom" storyline, Marvel Comics hired back writer David Michelinie (Amazing Spider-Man – Return of the Sinister Six, Avengers – Nights of Wundagore) to lead Eddie Brock and Venom from a super-villain to a bit more likeable anti-hero character in six-part limited series "Lethal Protector".

However, they both came to terms of leaving him alone and use their power to help innocents. In pursuit of a new heroic adventure, Eddie would meet a new group of friends and enemies alike.

Originated from the idea of Spider-Man, a clone version of the character was introduced by Terry Kavanagh and Steven Butler on the pages of Marvel Comics and the alias ‘Scarlet Spider’ was first used by Peter Parker’s clone Ben Reilly in 1994. Then Joe Wade assumed the name upon becoming an evil cybernetic version of it and then Peter himself had taken the role briefly.

Later a team of three Michael Van Patrick clones acted as Scarlet Spiders to form "Red Team" for The Initiative and finally Kaine Parker took the mantle in his own monthly ongoing series for good.
