Venom – War of The Realms | Comics

While chaos reigns across Manhattan, Eddie Brock tries to stop the "War of Realms" without his Venom symbiote.

Shortly after discovering his cancer returning, Eddie Brock asks The Maker to remove his symbiote and it ends up escaping into a crowd. "War of The Realms" reaches to Earth in the meantime, causing death and destruction around. Eddie tries to find a safe place for his son Dylan Brock as monsters running rampant in New York City.

Now that he has no Venom symbiote to keep him safe, Brock plans to take Dylan to abandoned safehouse of Rex Strickland. They came across a Fire Demon nearing an alleyway and patiently waited for that monster to go away. Finding cover nearing a warehouse, Eddie sees a family being chased by Dark Elves that he decides to help.

He tries to drive those Elves to him to let their would-be victims escape and engages them in a brawl only to get stabbed by them. Leaving him to bleed out, they chase after civilians and then Dylan gets spotted by one Elf who attempted to kill him but got his neck broken by timely arrival of Brock while being observed by War Witches of Malekith.

Intrigued by his bloodlust and rage, one of the War Witches comes to Brock with an agenda when he arrives at Rex's safehouse. She casually melts a gun Eddie pointed at her and claims that he doesn't want a firearm but something else. So, she offers him a mystical Asgardian crystal called Dreamstone to conjure up a weapon that he desires.

Though Dylan warns him not to trust her, he reaches out to it and transforms into a Venom-like symbiote creature with crystal spikes and Nordic runes inscribed on its body, which feels very similar to his other, yet quite different. It starts to heal his internal wounds but Brock bites off an arm of War Witch when she asked him to serve Malekith.

Keeping his ward behind safehouse doors, Eddie goes out to fulfill his duty as a "Lethal Protector" of innocents. He finds a group of Dark Elves torturing civilians beside a troll and his newfound symbiote fills him with bloodlust. To settle scores of their previous encounter, Venom mercilessly rips them apart and decapitated the troll as well.

He realizes that his dark emotions are being manifested by power of Dreamstone and Brock even introduces himself to a civilian as Venom by referring himself to "I" instead of usual "we". Elsewhere, the hurt War Witch feels humiliated at Eddie's betrayal and she attempts to seek a new pawn in a dark apartment, who turns out to be Jack O'Lantern.

Eddie Brock continues to clear streets amidst an all-out chaos and his suit grows stronger as he flips over a Roxxon tank. An imposter who was humiliated by Venom in past, Jack is powered by a Dreamstone crystal and goes after his enemy. He hits up Brock with a burst of flame and mocks him for not do away with his symbiote's great weakness to fire.

Eddie doesn't even flinch by his enhanced suit or flaming bat skeleton and instead recalls his memory of almost killing previous Jack O'Lantern. He then sics a pair of Wild Hunt hounds on Venom when he wasn't able to get an upper hand. As he was giving chase to Jack throughout the city, he suddenly gets smashed with a mace of a Frost Giant.

His feeling of concern and love for Dylan starts making him weak and so, Brock recalls on more bad memories. He grows big to match sizes with them to finish them off and his symbiote even adapts to Jack's attack by shaping into Asgardian armor. Eddie's growing rage gives War Witch hope of eventually turning him into a war-puppet for Malekith.

She then recruited an imposter Jack O'Lantern with same power-enhancements, who would gladly take the offer.

Despite Jack trying to take him down, Brock would rise up and get involved in Malekith's plan to take over Nine Realms. Meanwhile, his psychotic offspring Carnage prepares to make a grand comeback to New York very soon. The Walking Dead – Rest In Peace | Comics

Though Rick Grimes thought Commonwealth to be a sanctuary for humanity, it could also bring doom to every living survivor.

Defending their home during "The Whisperer War" and then surviving "A Certain Doom", entire community of Alexandria gets busy rebuilding. Eugene Porter makes a discovery of another survivors' group and Rick Grimes sends a scout team. They are welcomed in Commonwealth and Michonne finds her long-lost daughter Elodie there.

Governor Pamela Milton of Commonwealth meets with Rick to visit their home, Hilltop, Kingdom and Sanctuary. There is a class-based social system in Commonwealth that disgusts Dwight and he proposes that they liberate these people of their shackles but Rick refuses and even ended up shooting him to put a stop to his madness.

Governor Milton gathers everyone to address what happened and assures that Rick's group is still welcomed among them as he saved her life. Rick had spat with Michonne for involving Pamela into this, which has led to such mess but she argues that Dwight had always been a loose cannon and he eventually forgives her at last.

Magna sends Siddiq to go and check on Rick right after he stops by at Hilltop community to gather more people to go with him. Aaron, Carl, Dante and Jesus join him in his journey and they came across a herd of walkers. Juanita Sanchez AKA Princess met them on her way back home from Commonwealth and offers her help.

Devastated by the death of her lover, Laura decides to turn things around and approaches Commonwealth Military leader, Mercer to discuss their similar interest in overthrowing Milton. He goes back to his fellow soldiers realizing a growing distaste for current establishment among them but is arrested by Lance Hornsby and his men.

Pamela meets Mercer at jail asking about his sense of loyalty and he showed her the hypocrisy of her ways. Back at Hilltop, Maggie feels worried for not sending enough men to Commonwealth as she doesn't trust Pamela at all. Brianna suggests that she should go there herself if she wants to while she can watch over little Hershel here.

Princess talks about how people are dangerous and Commonwealth reminded her just that but Carl was able to convince her joining them. They got out of hiding before that herd was being redirected to another direction. Meanwhile, Eugene and Stephanie were at an abandoned train yard with no guards, who didn't see those walkers coming.

Laura came visiting Mercer to get him out of his cell and she does so through an explosion with a bit of help from George. Everyone heard that blast going off, even Jesus and his expedition team from outside. Deducing what just happened; Rick heads over to Pamela's office to quickly get her to safety as a revolt starts growing against her.

On their way at back exit, Sebastian sees them and starts demanding to know what is up and laughs it off when Rick tells him what is going on. To which, he angrily reacted to the brat stating how everyone hates them for being jerks. Escaping town, they came across Rick's friends and he instructs Jesus to take Pamela to Greenville.

Even though people are fed up with Milton and her ways, they snap back hard at Mercer and his men when they arrest Lance. Seeing that people don't really trust his ways, he approaches Rick for help and asks him to take lead but he argues that people are not ready yet to accept him as their new leader and they will need time for that.

With much luck, Eugene and Stephanie were successful in escaping from derelict train yard after tricking the surrounding herd of walkers and made it to town, only to see it up in flames. When everyone was busy fighting for control and overthrowing tyrants, a massive swarm of undead army has found their way to Commonwealth.

The Walking Dead – Rest In Peace

In a shocking turn of events, creator/writer Robert Kirkman (Image United, Invincible) finished up his zombie-apocalypse saga of The Walking Dead in "Rest In Peace" storyline with artist Charlie Adlard (Judge Dredd, The X-Files) on board. Instead of regular six issue format, this one is concluded in last seven issues of Image Comics monthly series.

It may seem quite shocking for readers for TWD ongoing series to end like this all of a sudden but Kirkman already foreshadowed his endgame at an early stage of the story. Commonwealth is a state of civilization that is almost close to what humanity had before being devastated by zombie-apocalypse and is a great point to make a stop at.

Many that have lived up till end were present and there were some hints of what happened to others who were not present in sight. Major characters like Carl Grimes, Maggie, Michonne and Sophia has quite lived up to their true potential. However, things didn't end up as nicely for someone who actually deserved a lot better ending.

As expected, Kirkman never dropped a clue of how this outbreak started at the first place and neither did he disclose his origin for what virus has caused this. May be in future, he decides to do a side-story or a spin-off series like Fear The Walking Dead show based on same universe, where he explores that particular topic in more details.

Amazing Spider-Man – Lifetime Achievement | Comics

J. Jonah Jameson is about to receive lifetime achievement award from Mayor Wilson Fisk and Spider-Man had to come to his rescue.

During his time at Daily Bugle as its editor in chief, J. Jonah Jameson had been publishing one hit-piece after another claiming Spider-Man to be a public menace to raise awareness, never knowing that one of his employee and young freelance photographer Peter Parker was actually the man behind that mask he hated for so long.

Most recently, Parker made a huge revelation of his identity to Jonah and entrusted him with responsibility of its secrecy. It made things awkward for both of them but JJJ is trying hard to make up for his mess. Although people are pretty skeptical about his abrupt change of stance on Spidey but Jameson is adamant that they all owe him.

Next thing he knows, Jameson received an invitation from Mayor Wilson Fisk to receive a lifetime achievement award from their mutual friend Spider-Man, which Peter saw him announcing on TV. He showed up at Century Club in a Limo and is greeted by Spidey but due to years of habit, started shouting at him immediately.

Parker tries to reason with him about not showing up at Fisk's party because of his criminal past but JJ believes that Parker owes him this, claiming Jonah has been trying to repair his reputation but Pete reminds him that Jameson himself has ruined it. Seeing no apparent way of convincing Webhead, he walks alone to the party.

The Enforcers showed up out of nowhere to kidnap Jonah and engage in a brawl with Wall-Crawler. Having no luck at faring against him, these old-school mobsters try to shoot Jameson only for Spidey trying to save him next and get beaten. Waking up after a while, they find themselves among the company of Mac Gargan AKA Scorpion.

A mystery voice from unknown brought J. Jonah Jameson here to tell him his own story and starts projecting events from his life. It shows how he made Spider-Man a sworn enemy to how his insane obsession to take him down eventually led to Gargan being subjected to experiment, birth of Human Fly and creation of Spider-Slayer.

Then he met his second wife Marla and his father but they all died including Frederick Foswell, fellow Daily Bugle reporter and friend turned crime boss named Big Man. However, he Jameson turned out to be a traitor when he finally become pro-Spider-Man after year of rallying people into fight against "Webbed Menace", turning his back.

To punish him for his alliance with Web-Slinger, his unforeseen enemy unleashes Mac Gargan, Human Flies and a Spider-Slayer. Among a bunch of clones and LMDs, only Scorpion was the real deal and with a little help from JJJ, they managed to defeat them all until a giant-sized version of Big Man breaks in to crush them for good.

A ghost of his past came back to haunt him for stance he took lately but things are resolved over as he worked with Spider-Man. Meanwhile, a beaten up Gargan got his payday cancelled moments before he is kidnapped by Black Ant and Taskmaster. He wakes up to find himself captive alongside with Cobra, Tarantula, Stegron and Vulture in a cell.

Following his association with Big Man earlier, assassin-for-hire Arcade lost a huge sum of money and then Kraven the Hunter came to Arcade Industries with a business proposition. Peter and Mary Jane joined Dr. Curt Connors and his family for lunch when May Parker got caught between a Rhino chase by hired mercenaries.

Venom – The Abyss | Comics

Going through an emotional meat grinder, Eddie Brock learns of a little brother he never knew of and secrets of his Venom symbiote.

After his encounter with Knull, God of symbiotes, it took all of Eddie Brock and his partner Venom to go up against him. They manage to burn his remains into ashes but not before Eddie's connection with Klyntar are severed. With its voice being stripped now, he becomes alone and wakes up into a lab next to a man in shadows.

He introduces himself as The Maker, Reed Richards of Ultimate universe and starts unraveling his motives. Knowing that Brock has recently fought against Grendel symbiote linked to an elder god, he sent a team posing as Anti-Symbiote Taskforce to extract sample of that dragon's remains, who found Eddie's badly-burnt body out there.

Since Brock has no recollection of past events that happened after his encounter with dragon symbiote, The Maker reveals to him that Grendel survived and he was able to extract a sample from but it was stolen from his lab earlier. Believing Eddie has some form of connection to person or people who stole it, Reed has abducted him.

Currently working for a group who calls themselves "Project Oversight", he fills in on how Venom went berserk on his extraction team when they found Brock and even killed a few. He then showed up on his father's doorstep, scaring his younger half-brother Dylan before he is locked up by Oversight, which he has no memory of.

The Maker also remarks that his symbiote has been erasing parts of his memory to spare him from trauma and Eddie asks if he has extracted Venom. He throws a scalpel at Brock that a tendril has caught, which explains that Klyntar is still there. However, its battle against Knull was so taxing that now it has lost voice or personality.

The Maker tells him that they need to reconnect his symbiote to its hive-mind and late Flash Thompson is the only person who has survived that experience. Eddie is distraught to suddenly learn that Flash is no more and gets furious immediately upon learning that he stole a codex, cellular imprint of his symbiote from Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.

When he states to dig Flash up Arlington National cemetery to extract his codex and try to reconnect it to hive-mind, Eddie Brock angrily charges at him with a raging fury in his Venom form. He then proceeds to leave with Flash's codex after locking The Maker up in a morgue locker but is faced with armed forces with sonic cannons.

Eddie absorbs Flash's symbiote and let his personality to take over, transforming into Agent Venom and makes a swift escape. He goes to Arlington for real this time to pay his respects to Flash Thompson, promising to continue the good fight. To seek some answers from his past, Brock rides a bus straight to his home at San Francisco.

The Maker eventfully comes out of his captivity and enters a room observing many events at play involving Galactus and Silver Surfer, Morlun, Spider-Army, Thanos and The Unseen. A hooded figure hands out a vial stolen from Maker's lab to a woman claiming to serve their lord Knull as they stand next to a badly-burnt Cletus Kasady.

Alongside his Venom symbiote that has taken the form of a dog, Eddie shows up at his father's doorstep and recalls a childhood accident that bankrupted their family. His attempt to find out why he came here a month ago goes down to drain as Carl Brock wants nothing to do with his son and punches him out before closing the door on his face.

His symbiote violently reacts to this by turning into an enormous maw but leaves abruptly seeing a young boy named Dylan Brock calling Carl "dad". While he has taken temporary shelter to street and has starts coughing blood, a badly bruised Dylan showed up to him in an alleyway days later, claiming that they have to kill their father.
