DC Universe Online – Legends | Comics
Following an all-out brawl between JLA and the League of Super-Villains led by criminal mastermind Lex Luthor, all are massacred but Lex Luthor, Superman and The Joker. But Superman finally met his fate with Luthor impaling him with a Kryptonite spear after tricking him and claiming his years of yearning victory over the lifeless body of Man of Steel at last. But as he does so, he notices a warship armada of Brainiac starts entering Earth’s atmosphere without any super-hero left to oppose him. Brainiac starts unleashing exobytes all over the planet to turn humanity into a force of meta-humans under his command, informing Lex that once he is done collecting all data on Earth, he will eventually destroy it and then takes control over Lex’s exo-suit.

With help from a dying Black Adam, a desperate Luthor frees himself from Brainiac's control over him and escapes via an emergency pod. He is able to gather few remaining super-heroes and villains including The Atom, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, Cheetah, Doctor Fate, Mr. Freeze and Power Girl to make a final stand against Brainiac and eventually made a direct hit on him but Brainiac overpowers them. Seven years ago in the present, Brainiac has also launched an attack on Earth allied with Luthor and thwarts JLA badly with crippling the Superman of the present and ruining his reputation in public. Amidst all chaos, the grand conspiracy of an invasion on Earth is plotted and when all others have fallen, only Batman seems to have what it takes to stop this invasion.

"DC Universe Online - Legends" is a 26 issue limited series published by DC Comics on 2011 to serve as a tie-in to massively popular "DC Universe Online" video game title's core plotline. Writer Marv Wolfman (Crisis on Infinite Earths, Deathstroke the Terminator), who also co-written the video game’s story with Tony Bedard served as the storyteller along with popular artist Howard Porter (Underworld Unleashed, Trials of Shazam), Adriana Melo, Norman Lee, Mike Miller and Bruno Redondo. The series took place in an alternate timeline similar to DC’s mainstream continuity and explores the event in details. There the characters have almost all the similarities in their source of origin but the story of the series sets everything apart from its path and thus a new timeline with an alternate reality begins.

The fallen Green Lantern of Sector 1417, Thaal Sinestro was an inhabitant of the planet Korugar and an honorary member of the Corps until he was discharged for his abusing the power ring. After leaving the corps, he has become one of the greatest rivals of the Green Lantern Corps and formed his very own Sinestro Corps, powered by the yellow colored rings made by the Weaponers of the Antimatter World of Qward, to oppose the green rings of The Guardians. The Multiverse was finally restored in the aftermath of the Infinite Crisis and the Anti-Monitor is also resurrected in the process as well. To instill great fear in the heart of their enemy, he starts recruiting powerful and malevolent individuals to re-build his own Corps, thus picking the villainous Anti-Monitor and Parallax.

Together, they all launched an attack on Oa, which frees the Cyborg Superman and Superboy-Prime, who eventually joined the Sinestro Corps, each wearing a yellow power ring after killing many of the Corps members. During this massive onslaught on Oa, Kyle Rayner is separated from his Ion Symbiote of the ring by Sinestro and is then possessed by Parallax. Even the combined efforts of Green Lanterns Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner failed to rescue him. As Hal goes to fight with the Sinestro Corps, the Justice League are also warned about the return of Anti-Monitor. Green Lantern – Rebirth | Comics
Kyle Rayner, current Green Lantern of Earth, was on patrol in Sector 3599 where he saved a group of small aliens from a giant insectoid being and his power ring translates their feared speech as “Parallax is coming...”. Kyle then crashes on a spacecraft on Earth beside a green coffin and loses his consciousness then. Somewhere else, Hal Jordan becomes The Spectre to save a pilot from crash-landing and faced a drunk driver to punish him for his irresponsible actions. He tries to resist killing him but his former Parallax form comes in way with The Spectre, both refusing to let him believe it’s not who he really is. Hal’s home town Coast City was once destroyed by the villainous Cyborg Superman that eventually drove him mad; he became a villainous entity known as Parallax.

As Parallax, his uncontrolled rampage decimated planet Oa of Guardians of the Universe, killed a few Green Lanterns and destroyed Central Power Battery of Oa. During this state of chaos, one of his old enemies Sinestro was also killed by him. All of a sudden, there are a couple of weird happenings; once destroyed Coast City suddenly re-appears, Green Lantern John Stewart goes crazy on Justice League, Guy Gardner becomes a Green Lantern again and Kilowog suddenly assaults on Kyle Rayner for no good reason. Hal Jordan confesses to his friend Green Arrow that he cannot focus properly and all of these things that are happening recently do not seem to be normal. To make his suspicion true, Batman shows up with Justice League to confront Hal.
