Suicide Squad – The Black Vault | Comics

President Obama angrily confronts Amanda Waller about her Task Force X secret project upon learning of its existence. The President is adamant about shutting it down for good but Waller convinces him of let it run covertly under the leadership of Colonel Rick Flag and she talked to Flag in his holding cells into leading the team again. In the meantime, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and Harley Quinn were fighting Dogra War; a meta-human army of Mongolia, created by Mark Ljungberg with a gene bomb.

As Dogra War tries to take Ljungberg back, Boomerang secures the bomb by cutting his hand, Deadshot put a bullet in his head so that he cannot re-produce another one. Harley then re-activates the bomb to revert the army to powerless humans again in a desperate attempt to even the odds, which actually worked. Rick Flag joins them in the battlefield to lead them save the world for their oncoming missions.

Suicide Squad – The Black Vault | Comics

In Belle Reve Penitentiary, Waller re-assembles Suicide Squad by bringing Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, June Moone AKA Enchantress and Killer Croc, with Katana and Rick Flag for a new mission. They are to steal or destroy an immensely powerful "Cosmic Item" from an undersea prison in Russia but in mid-air Croc got sick all of a sudden and their pod crash lands into ice, while the timely emergence of Enchantress saved them all.

As Amanda Waller and her new accomplice NSA agent Emilia Harcourt watches over, the team breaks into the prison and fell under heavy fire from the enemy. As they were kicking ass and hacking limbs, Harley Quinn tries to bond with Katana to no avail. The Squad ends up killing all the guards and discovers a girl named Hack who knows about "The Black Vault" they are looking for and she is also a huge fan of Harley Quinn.

The Squad re-materialized to another location to find an Orb that has a link to Phantom Zone and Croc gets sick again. Before Rick could warn any of his teammates, one of them is disintegrated by Kryptonian zealot; General Zod. Now, since this angry Kryptonian was held here against his wishes, he's definitely angry and the fragile humans are all on his way!

This storyline collects one-shot Suicide Squad: Rebirth issue as well as the first eight issue from the fifth ongoing volume of the series and the aftermath of the arc creates a set-up for the 2017's crossover event "Justice League Vs.
