Hawkman | Comics

Archaeologist Carter Hall discovered that he is the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince named Khufu, who had found a Thanagarian alien spacecraft containing the “Nth Metal” that negated gravity and with the power of flight, the adventurer became the hero, Hawkman.

The mysterious metal also had transformed his soul, causing him to re-born many times over the centuries. The alien ship was brought to the Temple of Horus at Erdu and the “Nth Metal” was forged to create a scarab for Khufu to fly, a battle knife and the Claw of Horus.

After the evil priest Hath-Set killed both Khufu and his lover Chay-Ara, his spirit re-spawned Brian Kent, Koenrad Von Grimm, Captain John Smith, Hannibal Hawkes, Detective James Wright and eventually as Carter Hall in 1940.

He soon met the reincarnation of his love as Shiera Sanders, who quickly assumed the role of Hawkgirl to fight for justice alongside him. Hawkman joined the JSA with The Atom, The Flash, Green Lantern, Sandman and Spectre. He was involved throughout “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. During the events of “Zero Hour”, Hawkman died in battle and a Thanagarian named Katar Hol took his place.

He was resurrected to oppose Onimar Synn and then he was drafted into the “Rann/Thanagar War”, later reunited with Hawkgirl, fatally battled Black Adam (in Black Adam – The Dark Age) after “World War III” and witnessed the “Blackest Night” and in wake of the “Brightest Day”, he faced the evil Hath-Set and Queen Khea to rescue a captured Hawkgirl.

Spider-Woman | Comics

Geneticist Jonathan Drew was an accomplice of High Evolutionary, who in a desperate attempt to save his daughter Jessica Drew from Uranium poisoning, gave her a serum derived from arachnids' blood and placed her into stasis. The process slowed down her aging process and developing powers. She woke up to find her parents missing, eventually leading her to work for Hydra who tasked her to kill Nick Fury; Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. but she refused to do so.

She stumbled onto The Thing and clashed with sorceress Morgan le Fay. With help from The Avengers, Tigra and Doctor Strange, Jessica was freed of Morgan's spells but lost her powers. While trying to restore her powers, Jessica sought aid from Hydra again and was replaced by Skrull Queen Veranke.

Veranke staged the 'Breakout' and the New Avengers were assembled. After the Skrull Invasion was over, she is rescued and Wolverine recruited her to the team in spite of Ronin's disapproval. To earn her keep, she helped Luke Cage find his daughter and double-crossed Osborn and his Dark Avengers. Abigail Brand offered her to become an Agent of S.W.O.R.D. and she accepted.

Following Siege, she was part of the adventures where The Avengers fought Kang (Next Avengers) and The Hood (Infinity Quest). The Serpent's War brought her close to Hawkeye and they started a relationship. When Avengers/X-Men conflict arose, she supported the former. As Spider-Woman, she joined forces with Scarlet Spider, Silk and Spider-Man during Spider-Verse.

A fictional super-heroine created by writer Archie Goodwin (Incredible Hulk, Iron Man) and artist Marie Severin, Spider-Woman is a female protagonist character from Marvel Comics, who debuted in 1977 on the pages of Marvel Spotlight ongoing series, issue #32.

Even though her namesake suggests her having connection to Spider-Man, she is not related to him but just borrowed the title. Despite her being the bearer of Spider-Woman mantle, there was another one named Mattie Franklin for a brief time.
