Blessed by the “Speed Force” that gives him lightning fast speed, he chooses to fight evils and protect the innocents with his power. As so, he soon became a costumed crime fighter with an alias; The Flash. Like the Green Lantern Corps, the Flash also have their own generations going on and Wally West is the third Flash in the line.
Barry himself was not the first one to become the "Crimson Comet". Before him, there was Jay Garrick, the first Flash. Created by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert, The Flash is one of the most notable superhero of the DC Universe. For generations, the mantle of these super heroes has been passed to Barry Allen from Jay Garrick. Then after the death of Barry during Crisis on Infinite Earths, his nephew Wally West became the newest Flash.
It features some incredibly awesome artworks by the late penciller Mike Wieringo (Fantastic Four, Tellos) and also many talented artists. In the afterwards of the "Flashpoint" crossover, the entire timeline of the DC Universe was changed by The New 52 wave and just like all other DC Comics characters, The Flash also received altered origin in the Prime Earth timeline.
