Drax – The Galaxy's Best Detective | Comics

In an undisclosed location, Drax the Destroyer was accompanying his friends in the Guardians of the Galaxy to fight a coven of aliens to stop them from detonating a dirty bomb powered by magic. Led by Kitty Pryde, the new Star-Lord of the team, fellow Guardians members Groot, Rocket Raccoon, The Thing and Venom were fighting against the oncoming enemy horde. As always, Drax's ruthless efficiency has earned them an easy victory in the end and they decide to part ways for now to celebrate on their own.

When he wished to tag along, Kitty mentions that she is going out for some girl-stuff and Groot was going to disarm the bomb with Rocket. The duo of The Thing and Venom heads for a pub in Alpha Centauri, leaving him saying there is no more room. So, Drax decides to pursue his life's mission of killing Thanos and Rocket lends him his rusty space worthy vehicle Space Sucker! However, the ship's system failed and he is forced to crash land in an unnamed moon and then walked for long in search for a mechanic.

He came across Ora's bar after walking miles only to meet and greeted by Terrax the Tamer there. Angry and frustrated over the matters he has been enduring for past few days, Drax decides to take his temper out on the former herald of Galactus for now. Surprisingly enough, Terrax is not here to fight and offers to buy him a drink. Though he is not much of a talker himself, he listens as his host describes how he was previously obliterated into nothingness and then found himself alive again.

As Drax was looking for a mechanic to repair his broken ship, the barkeep Ora takes him to her workshop and offers to fix his vehicle if he helps to catch a thief who has been stealing from her. He was looking for Terrax to help him catch the thieves and when they meet outside, Drax engaged in a fight against a band of slavers on street and Terrax joined in. Ora took out the last one while Drax unsuccessfully chases the goons to stop them from getting away. He realizes that he was actually roped in to rescue children from those kidnappers.

In the middle of these chaos and confusion, someone stole the Axe of Terrax the Tamer. Unable to get him up at his feet, Drax leaves a grieving Terrax behind while investigating scrap-metal thieves, also the reason behind a massive disappearance of people. He sees a couple of raiders plucking up pieces of his ship and gives a chase. One of the raiders led him to their secret hideout, where trying to free the tortured people, he is taken down. Eventually he finds himself in an arena against The Serpent AKA Fin Fang Foom.

Drax – The Galaxy's Best Detective

Considered as the tattooed muscle-head for Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax is rarely left alone to pursue solo adventures. So, writer CM Punk and Cullen Bunn (Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Deadpool Vs. Carnage) came up with a plot for Drax the Destroyer to send him on his life's mission that storyline is illustrated by artist Scott Hepburn for Marvel in 2016. Current members from The Guardians showed up in the story at the very beginning and Drax gets to tag along with a former heralds of Galactus; Terrax the Tamer for a very unusual team-up experience, who was thought to be killed off by Phoenix during Avengers/X-Men War.

With the revolution of live-action film franchise in recent years, Marvel is re-inventing their various popular characters by putting them on solo adventures in their own monthly series for a while to see how it goes. Also, bringing a legendary figure like Fin Fang Foom into this story for something that is very personal to him was also something that felt fresh. This storyline collects issues #01-05 from the first ongoing volume of Drax limited series and is then continued in the next arc titled "The Children's Crusade".

Guardians of the Galaxy – Emperor Quill | Comics

As Fantastic Four is currently no longer in business, The Thing has nothing better to do and he decided to become a spaceman. So, Benjamin J. Grimm has joined Guardians of the Galaxy alongside Drax the Destroyer, Star-Lord/Kitty Pryde, Flash Thompson's Venom and Groot, led by their brand-new leader Rocket Raccoon. Though, Ben lovies his time in space, he finds the downside of it being always being threatended by a Chitauri Leviathan that is after him and thanks to Kitty Pryde, they took out a entire Chitauri fleet with very little effort and secured a package from them.

Since no one knows what's inside of it and they have no expert on-board to examine it and cannot come to any conclusion whether it's a weapon or a cosmic artifact, The Guardians took a vote and went to see an old friend. On Spartax, Emperor Peter Quill is dying of boredom while ruling the planet and suddenly out of the blue, Rocket and The Guardians arrives at his doorstep with the package acquired from Chitauri.

On Spartax, Emperor Peter Quill was dying of boredom while ruling the planet alongside Spartax Council as their new king, attending meetings to discuss military expenditures and trade negotiations that are driving him nuts. Peter was trying to resist sexual advancement from an alien being and suddenly out of the blue, Rocket arrives with the rest of Guardians of the Galaxy at his doorstep with the package acquired from Chitauri. Only moments after their arrival, a shiny object falls from the orbit and hits straight to the surface, which is revealed to be a badly-beaten and bloodied Gamora.

She tries to warn her friends about her attacker and it seems that Gamora encountered a Kree, belonging to Accuser Corps, named Hala who has beaten her like this. She fled from the Kree using all her strength to come to Spartax, so she could warn Quill and the Guardians. Hala is the last remaining Accuser, who seeks out retribution for the destruction of Kree Homeworld and her people at the hands of Quill's father and former King J'son while she was away. Now, as the sole survivor of her race, she came to Spartax to kill Emperor Peter Quill.

They all attacked the Kree Accuser one by one but none of them could make an impact except for Ben Grimm landing a few punches on her. Then an attempt from Spartoi Royal Guards to restrain Hala also proved to be as futile. Even the combined might of the Guardians seems not enough to even slow her down a bit and they are all forced to leave while Gamora engages her in duel again. As the rogue Accuser tears apart the heroes and wrecks havoc on Spartax, a doozy alien named Yotat the Destroyer seeks for Drax to settle down some old score.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Emperor Quill (Hardcover)

Set up after Marvel's ground-breaking events of "Time Runs Out" and "Secret Wars", Guardians of the Galaxy is taking a new move with "Emperor Quill" storyline which is devised by writer Brian Michael Bendis (Daredevil – End of Days, Daredevil – Ninja) and illustrated by artist Valerio Schiti (Guardians of the Galaxy – Wanted, New Avengers – A Perfect World), as Arthur Adams (Gen¹³/Generation X, Longshot) provided cover arts. "Emperor Quill" does very well connecting the current plot to the previous happenings of the Marvel Universe; like "The Black Vortex" and subtly plants seeds for more in the foreseeable future with more stakes on the line.

New members Ben Grimm and Flash Thompson are added to the roster to add some new twist to the play and bringing diverse flavor among the space-heroes. This puts Rocket straight on the driving seat of the gang whilst Quill plays the fancy boy-king of Spartax. During Quill's presence, Rocket always argued with him how his plans are better and now with the former out for the time being, he can finally prove his worth as a team-leader. Also, the story hints a major oncoming conspiracy from the depth of Negative Zone by two of the menacing figures; Annihilus and Queen of the Brood which might eventually turn out to be some major catastrophic event in future as the series progresses.

It was revealed in “Dying Wish” that during their previous encounter, Doctor Octopus has somehow switched his consciousness with Peter Parker via one of his Octobots and the body of Doc Ock in the prison now holds the mind of Peter. As a final attempt to stop his enemy from getting away, Peter assembles the other villains who thought him to be Doc Ock to stop the one wandering in Spidey’s body.

In a final battle, Peter eventually dies in Doc Ock’s old, fragile body and Octavious has a change of heart at that moment. He promises to take care of business Spidey used to handle and the people he love and will become the Superior Spider-Man.

As Superior Spider-Man, he tussled with The Avengers for being unusually suspicious, fought the reformed Green Goblin, a new Venom, the fourth Hobgoblin, battered second rate villains like Jester and Screwball, destroyed the Kingpin’s lair of The Hand. Meanwhile, a small fraction of Peter’s rebel mind still seems to be roaming around inside of him for gaining control over the mind of Octavious and his unchecked actions.

Venom – Circle of Four | Comics

Jack O'Lantern showed up at Flash Thompson's father's funeral on behalf of his boss Crime-Master with a deal that involves retrieving a package for him or see his family suffer. Given the situation, Flash had no other choice but to comply to keep his loved ones safe. This led him to steal the symbiote for himself when Captain America comes in to shut down "Project Rebirth" the next day and then he flees the facility. Cap gives Flash a chase into the forest and these two fights for control as the former unsuccessfully tries to convince to give up the suit.

Flash managed to best Captain America in combat and when he got back with the suit, he found himself teaming up with Jack O'Lantern to a road-trip. Cap then tasked Red Hulk with a solo mission to retrieve Venom symbiote and bring it back to base. The following day, Flash and Jack heads straight to Devil's Den Casino of Las Vegas, where they breaks in to get the Toxin symbiote for Crime-Master but as soon as Venom senses it, Flash loses control over his suit and things goes way out of hand.

Venom – Circle of Four | Comics

Whatever control Flash had over the symbiote is gone and tries to eleminate the Toxin symbiote so that it could not compete with Venom for a battle of dominance on Earth in future. Jack O'Lantern breaks in to secure the package and remind Flash to calm down as he puts the symbiote in a container. Venom completely ignores anything that Jack said and keeps violently pouncing at the villain to get the container back. Crime-Master suggests Jack to run for his life and he barely made it out of Flash's clutch by threatening his family if the latter doesn't comply.

Flash calls Betty and breaks up with her to cut ties with her and save her from Crime-Master and Jack O'Lantern. By the time, he calmed down, General Thunderbolt Ross AKA the Red Hulk was looking for the symbiote to take it back into custody. Seeing a hostile Rulk breaking-in, the suit tries to take over him and they blew up a gas station in the ensuing struggle. Meanwhile, Wolverine's cloned daughter X-23 gets into the casino tracking the trail of a vial of her blood and discovers a band of Symbiote Warriors cloned in tubes.

Devil's Den Casino owner Mr. Degli and his girlfriend Ms. Oyle goes to a satanic machine with hundred sinful souls to open a black doorway and sensing this, the new Spirit of Vengeance; Alejandra Jones heads to the location, leaving Johnny Blaze in the Nevada desert. While rushing into the scene, Alejandra accidentally helped activate the doorway as demons enters Earth. Mr. Degli and Ms. Oyle reveal them to be Blackheart and his lover Gari Oyle as Ghost Rider, Red Hulk, Venom and X-23 appears to fight Hell and Antithesis; the dark counterpart of their own to save Earth.

Venom – Circle of Four (Hardcover)

"Circle of Four" is a six-part plotline that ran into the second monthly ongoing comic-book volume of Venom from Marvel Comics, written by Jeff Parker, Rick Remender (AXIS, Captain America – Castaway in Dimension Z), Rob Williams and drawn by Julian Tedesco, Lan Medina, Lee Garbett, Sana Takeda, Tony Moore (Deadpool, Punisher). The story is another father-son hatred battle to rise to power in Hell between the demon Blackheart and his father Mephisto. As always, Mephisto found some pawns to do his bidding and gave them something that they wanted in return like a master manipulator.

Circle of Damnation

This skirmish of Hell also added never before teamed-up characters like Ghost Rider, Red Hulk, Venom and X-23 side by side to work as a team, which also is homage to the New Fantastic Four storyline from the 90's. Though it was very hard to match their combined ego to go team but dire objective in hand really motivated them all to act as a group and they had no other choice left. Aside from the unusual alliance formed during the story, characters like Doctor Strange, Hellstorm, Secret Avengers member Beast and Giant-Man made cameo appearance into it at one point.
