The Walking Dead – Days Gone Bye | Comics

Small town cop Rick Grimes wakes up in a hospital to realize that he is now in a world ruled by undead corpse.

Kentucky sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes wakes up in an abandoned hospital after he was severely wounded by a gunshot in the line of duty. Spending almost a month in coma, he wakes up to shockingly discover that everyone has left the town a while ago except for the ones who walks around and feeds on living.

He managed to stand on his feet after much-less effort to patch himself up and then went on to explore the complex only to accidentally encounter a few undead corpses while wandering around. Rick is even attacked by a few of them at the cafeteria to his utter surprise but somehow managed to save himself from their grasp.

He found a decaying female corpse outside that has been reduced to bones near a bicycle and quickly escapes to his home. There he finds the house empty as well as his wife Lori and son Carl Grimes already gone. Rick is then hit with a shovel on back of his head before meeting up to a man named Morgan Jones and his boy Duane.

Duane actually mistook him as a zombie and he gets updated on how this plague of madness spread about a month ago that unleashed these flesh-eating monsters. Since the outbreak has hit mankind, he and his son are looking out for each other. Rick decides heading for Atlanta where he thinks Lori and Carl had moved to.

They go to Cynthiana Police Department to collect some guns before parting ways and he made a stop midway to put the bicycle girl out of her misery. Then he ran out of gas and when trying to get some fuel from a nearby ranch, he finds rotten corpse of the owner and his family who already has committed group suicide.

As he was leaving, Rick finds a horse inside their barn and picked up a hatchet before resume his journey to Atlanta. They calmly make it to the big city with dead bodies scattered across every turn but while passing through apparently empty streets came under attack shortly by a large horde of Walkers that devoured his horse.

Trying to get a grip with what's happening to him, Rick starts hacking at zombies around him before unexpectedly meeting a survivor named Glenn in alleyways who saves his life. Learning almost everyone in Atlanta is most probably dead, he breaks down thinking of his family but they eventually reach to nearby camp anyway.

There Rick reunites with his family and this reunion made everyone present there happy, except for his best friend and former partner Shane, who is not too excited to see him back from coma. Rick is introduced to Allen and Donna with their kids Ben and Billy, sisters Amy and Andrea, mother-daughter Carol and Sophia.

After encountering a few wandering zombies near campsite, Rick suggests moving their camp from current location, which is close to a city full of undead hordes but Shane strongly disagrees calling it an isolated incident. So, he decides to sneak into the city with Glenn to get more weapons from gun store for better protection.

Using mutilated zombie body parts as camouflage, they managed to get in pretty easily but barely made it out alive from surrounding horde when rain starts pouring all of a sudden. Their stench got washed off, completely blowing their cover and a nervous Rick starts hastily shooting at them as they made a run for their lives.

At campfire during dinner, their camp came under attack by a surprise horde, which left behind heavy causalities. Tension starts rising between Rick and Shane regarding how to keep everyone safe and that lead to a violent conclusion.

The Walking Dead Vol 01 – Days Gone Bye

"Days Gone Bye" marks the first storyline of post-apocalyptic monthly ongoing comic-book series The Walking Dead from Image Comics, collecting issues #01-06. Chronicling struggles of living into a world that has been taken over by zombies, TWD is mapped out by creator/writer Robert Kirkman (Image United, Invincible) in 2004.

It introduced primary characters like small town cop Rick Grimes, his wife Lori, son Carl, buddy Shane and a newfound family of survivors. Other important people among their group includes Andrea, Carol, Dale and supply runner Glenn. Though some of them will live to see a long journey up ahead, some will most likely to die.

Day of Mourning

Primary aspects of this book were adapted for pilot episode of acclaimed TV series The Walking Dead on AMC network, when it has debuted in 2010. Season 1 of that show also took many source materials to establish a base for it.

Kirkman tagged along artist/co-creator Tony Moore (Fear Agent, Punisher) on board to help bringing his vision to light. However, this one remains the only arc in entire series where Moore contributed as both cover artist and illustrator. "Days Gone Bye" is followed by "Miles Behind Us" story up next, also written by Kirkman himself.

Justice League Elite | Comics

In absence of original Justice League team, the notorious Crime Syndicate of Amerika was on a rampage and a new superhero team; Justice League Elite was formed by their former enemy Vera Black to do the odd jobs JLA wouldn't want to be involved with. Their objective was to face and remove extraordinary threats, which normal people cannot face but even being such a black-ops wing, they still have to follow one rule that original Leaguers followed: No killing.

Green Arrow and The Flash, members of original Justice League team also joined The Elite for its view towards crime that they both shared. While serving both teams, the latter has designed a new dark costume for his time with Elite. One of JLE's members Coldcast happened to be an original member of the previous roster of The Elite team which once clashed with Superman over their point of view on crimes.

Other members of the team were Menagerie II, Manitou Raven and his wife Manitou Dawn as a supporting member, former Suicide Squad operative Major Disaster and a ruthless teenage assassin named Kasumi AKA Mist, who has said to have killed more than 200 people and has a real shady past. The sister of former team leader Manchester Black, Vera Black as Sister Superior, takes the leadership mantle of the team to show everyone that she can run the team better than her brother. But her leadership and humanity will be on jeopardy when her brother returns with a being from Source Wall named Eve, who has the power to alter reality.

Optimus Prime | Comics
There are myths about him being a gladiator champion or an Autobot Officer thousands of years in the past but before he was chosen as the brave leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime was a noble successor of the Dynasty of Primes, named Orion Pax. But he had a shared past with the Decepticons’ leader Megatron long before The Great War. The High Council picked Orion after Primus’ the Matrix of Leadership chose him and he became "Optimus Prime". In time, Cybertron is vanquished in war and he led the remaining Autobot warriors on board the Ark but attacked by Megatron and his followers. The Ark crash-landed on a planet that’d be later called Earth and many years after that, he found themselves protecting the sentient inhabitants of that world.

On Earth, Prime and his fellow Autobots found themselves constantly at war as well as many drawbacks like human’s lack of trust on them, Earth’s Energon resources, crowd safety and rogue Cybertronian bounty hunters. Besides transforming into the long semi-fighting truck every now and then, Optimus is always concerned about the safety of the earthlings and the well-being of his comrade Bumblebee, Drift, Ironhide, Ratchet, Rodimus, Ultra Magnus and other allies. He and his Autobot buddies have been fighting for the freedom of life. He and his colleagues were witness to Autocracy, Chaos, Combine Wars and Primacy. Taught in the art of leadership by Sentinel Prime, Optimus is the best role model for a leader, friend, warrior and above all; a hero!

A fictional character from the line of Transformers toys by Hasbro, Orion Pax AKA Optimus Prime was named by Dennis O'Neil. Since the creation of the character, Optimus Prime has appeared over more than 800 issues of publications from both Marvel and IDW. He’s been in the leading role of the main Transformers monthly ongoing series and many other spin-off publications. Alongside other heroic Autobots like Bumblebee, Ironhide and Ratchet, Optimus was the primary protagonist on the series of live-action movie adaptations of the franchise including Transformers (2007), Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers – Dark of the Moon (2011), Transformers – Age of Extinction (2014) and Transformers – The Last Knight (2017), voice portrayed by Peter Cullen. It can also be presumed easily that this charismatic enigma will make more appearances in the future sequels and spin-offs as well. Several successful video game adaptations on the series were made that also features him reprising his role; notably in Transformers – War for Cybertron, Transformers – Fall of Cybertron and Transformers – Devastation.
