They both also took a stand against The Trench; a carnivorous underwater species, who were constantly attacking the city. When Darkseid; the evil god of Apokolips reached earth with his army of Parademons, the heroes of earth were trying to protect it against the odds (Justice League – Origin).

Aquaman then showed up at the scene of conflict and turned the tides of the entire battle against the Apokoliptian invading force. He then joined Batman, Cyborg, The Flash, Green Lantern, Superman and Wonder Woman in help saving the day. Afterwards, they all band together to form the Justice League and fought the villainous David Graves (Justice League – The Villain's Journey).

Arthur and Mera give a chase to Black Manta following his stealing of an Artifacts of Atlantis. Then the team "The Others" was formed with six individuals each possessing an Atlantean relic. A conspiracy made Aquaman to declare war on the surface world which he and the Justice League then tackled together (Justice League – Throne of Atlantis). Arthur then faced the Dead King to rescue Mera from his clutches upon settling Atlantean civil war.

Joker fished her out from the bottom of vat but she was drastically changed by then both physically and mentally, and the maniac dubbed her Harley Quinn. They became lovers and after a while Joker left her as he got bored. She then made a uniform for herself. Black Canary stopped her from an unchecked homicidal binge and she is taken to Belle Reve Penitentiary.

Amanda Waller then recruited her to her secret command unit called Task Force X, AKA Suicide Squad. After their first mission (Kicked in the Teeth), she managed to escape the prison while creating a prison riot. Invincible Iron Man – Fear Itself | Comics
After being released by the Red Skull’s daughter, The Serpent, a god of Asgard culminates "The American Blitzkrieg" era, causing a massive spread of fear around Earth. The Serpent also summoned seven divine hammers on Earth that transformed a group of former super-villains and heroes alike into the lieutenant of his cause, dubbed as The Worthy. Just like the few other super villains, Paul Duval AKA The Grey Gargoyle has turned into one of the Worthies, now calling himself as Mokk; breaker of faith. Now with his newly found unmatched powers, Mokk reaches to the city of lights, Paris and after reaching there, he is doing what he does best, turning people into stone.

The ultimate man of science Tony Stark heads to Paris on news of rampage there caused by Mokk and to face him as Invincible Iron Man. But with horror, he sees the entire city is turned into stone by Mokk with his power as Grey Gargoyle. A shocked Iron Man attacked Mokk with no actual success while Tony kept hitting him hard and it seems like Mokk was expecting a better fight from him. Tony’s rival Detroit Steel tried to stop Mokk’s rampage with the cost of his own life. Tony sees no apparent way to fight the mystically powered Worthies but to apply the same manner on them. So, he asks Odin Allfather’s help and blessings to the battlefield. Despite all of this, he also got back to his old drinking habit and if he can get a hold of that, he have to worry about the mischievous Smoke Elves sent by The Serpent.
