Mighty Avengers – Venom Bomb | Comics

Iron Man reassembles his Mighty Avengers team to fight a Venom virus that turned New York's populace into symbiotic monsters.

Right after assembling his team of Mighty Avengers, Tony Stark and his friends managed to thwart a global extinction attempt by Ultron which led him to put in recovery. He wakes up in the middle of that same night to find Spider-Woman standing beside his bed carrying a Skrull corpse who was posing as Elektra for some time.

She tells him to shut all communication so that she can start talking and then reveals how their trip to Japan for rescuing Maya Lopez has led to this shocking discovery. She had to betray her fellow teammates in New Avengers to bring the dead body to Stark and explains how Wolverine thinks this as a sign of full-scale invasion.

As Stark doesn't really know what to do in this situation, he asks her to join his team so that if there is a Skrull on his team, it may react abnormally. Next day, Tony welcomes every new members of his team in Avengers Tower. He then introduces Jessica Drew to the rest despite Black Widow and Wasp being skeptic about it.

In space, two astronauts were collecting debris of experiment satellites that Sentry and Wonder Man destroyed earlier while fighting Ultron. A small capsule is launched from there which fell on Earth, only to cause an outbreak of Venom symbiote in streets of New York and prompting Commander Maria Hill to call Iron Man for help.

Assembling his team, Tony Stark quickly arrives on scene to witness thousands of symbiote swarms running rampant and they even overwhelmed Sentry. Janet van Dyne turns into Giant Woman but then succumbs to the virus when she is bitten. Even Jessica and Natasha got infected shortly fighting their surrounding crowd.

Rest of them desperately tries to hold off the mass as Tony heads out for a possible solution. New Avengers were on their way to warn Mighty Avengers about an attack by The Hood (The Trust) and except for Luke Cage, all of them are turned. Unable to find Reed Richards or Fantastic Four, he gets into Baxter Building to produce a cure.

Seeing things getting out of hand, Ms. Marvel instructs Sentry to knock out Venom-possessed Janet. Meanwhile, Tony managed to synthesize an antidote that he spread across New York for everyone to get cured. Back to their human forms, New Avengers members stayed and try to assist a shocked crowd to deal with their trauma.

Stark then head to space tracking down origin of the virus, learning Latverian monarch Doctor Doom was behind this attack. Iron Man leads his Mighty Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. cavalry to hunt down Doom who travelled through time to meet Morgan le Fey but was forced to come back due to some anomaly and sees them coming for him.

When they arrived near Castle Doom, he unleashed an army of Doombots on the heroes as defense counter strike. Ares takes charge by ramming their Quinjet on his castle and they became busy fighting Doom's minions. Iron Man engages him in battle but was overpowered when his enemy uses Crimson Bands of Cyttorak.

Carol sends Bob to help Tony but due to his sudden intervention, they all fell into an open time travel portal and is sent to past. An angered Doctor Doom swears vengeance on Stark but they both eventually agree not to do anything that would cause grave damage to space-time continuum and focus on going back to their own time.

Fantastic Four – Unthinkable | Comics

To exact vengeance against Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom does the unthinkable!

Before he crossed paths with genius inventor Reed Richards, before he had his face violently disfigured by an unfortunate accident at State University in New York or before engaging in years of endless fighting with the popular adventurer team known as Fantastic Four by becoming Doctor Doom, Victor Von Doom was a very different man.

Long before he became the tyrant ruler of Latveria, he fell in love with a beautiful young girl named Valeria from the same Romani camp. These two love-birds were having their good days together with heartfelt affection and genuine concern for each other.

She was the only support left for Victor when he lost his parents at an early stage of life and became an orphan. Victor then studied both science and dark sorcery to open gateways to another realm in hopes to free his parents. He eventually became a great inventor and got a chance of scholarship in America through his growing reputation.

When his lover made him chose between her and the newfound opportunity, Victor chose this golden opportunity over Valeria for the pursuit of knowledge that would bring him power. Years after, he is searching for the love of his life again in places with no results even though having accomplishments in the field of science or being a billionaire.

Fantastic Four – Unthinkable | Comics

Except for Valeria being in his life, he finds it all meaningless after all these years but ever since this couple parted ways before he came to America, they never contacted to each other and Victor doesn't even have the slightest idea of her current whereabouts. So he is currently seeking help from fortune tellers and gypsies everywhere to find her out.

Because, this time he is willing to give up everything he ever achieved, only to have her back in his life and he eventually does find her the first time he came looking for her, pointed out by another fortune teller he came across lately. As she was already waiting for him, Victor approaches an elderly Valeria, asking her to change his life forever.

The day of the lives of Fantastic Four was going just like any other normal one with their regular family misadventures. The Thing asks Johnny Storm to borrow some cash as he is the new Chief Financial Officer of Fantastic Four, Inc. When he stood Ben up for too many times, he decides to play prank on Johnny by hitting him up with a massive water balloon.

Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman went on a tour to a dimension filled with trinary code speaking aliens, looking for photonuclear crystals to fuel his tech for a foreseeable future. Franklin and his sister Valeria were in care of Crystal and Medusa of The Inhumans at New Attilan, Blue Area of the Moon, while their parents were away.

Upon returning, Reed and Sue bring them back through a portal and Susan takes Val to feed her. Reed goes to lab with Franklin to find out an entirely soaked Johnny looking for something to hurt Ben. Knowing it was probably Human Torch who angered Ben in the first place; Reed offers a non-lethal suggestion and tells them to meet him after suiting up.

Susan was talking to Ben in kitchen about how she is worried about a normal future for her daughter. As Val was playing with blocks, Ben tries for her to say his name but unseen to them all, Doctor Doom showed up to her, claiming her to be his goddaughter.

He compels her to say the word "Doom" and when she does, chaos breaks out at lab in form of a weird green energy beam almost immediately. Johnny couldn't stop it with his flames and Mr. Fantastic was forced to quickly transport Franklin to New Attilan for safety but the boy accidentally ended up being dragged out by netherdemons into Hell.

Defense system went down pretty fast and Johnny jumps in to save his nephew, only to get badly burnt by hellfire. When Ben mentioned of what Val said earlier, Reed watches into her eye and through it, Victor assures him to meet very soon. The world's greatest family then head over to Latveria for an unthinkable confrontation of their lives.

Fantastic Four – Unthinkable

A four issue plot with a prologue story on Victor Von Doom from the pages of Fantastic Four, "Unthinkable" is further exploring untold origin of Doom's back-story. The story kick starts from issue #67 of third volume of titular monthly ongoing comic-book series and ended up on issue #500 of original count, which came after 70th issue of this volume.

Veteran comic-book writer Mark Waid (Onslaught Saga, Original Sin) and artist Mike Wieringo (Fantastic Four – Disassembled, Fantastic Four – Rising Storm) tied this story up in 2004 that would have after effects on the heroes in the long run of their lives.

An Unthinkable Doom

This one is quite a different story-arc for the family as their arch-nemesis now relies on mystical powers beyond their understanding. Yet question remains, why Victor is looking for Valeria after all these years? What cryptic connection does it has with the Fantastic Four? What unthinkable deed he is going to do when he finds out his lost love?

A brief glimpse on New Attilan as well as other known Marvel Comics characters like Crystal, Lockjaw and Medusa making a cameo was very enjoyable. Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange appears in a guest-role as well as beings from Dark Dimension. Though the good doctor didn't hang out for long, he did provide Reed a way to salvation.

Sorcerer Supreme
Strange was very close to his sister Donna and one of her event of injury has led him to a medical student. Upon completing medical degree from Columbia University, he becomes a very renowned surgeon and all the success led him to fame, fortune and arrogance that made him impossible to bear with. By the time he lost both of his parents, he became an egotistical shallow person and was in a car accident that severely damaged the nerves of his hands. Seeing his promising career at an end before his very eyes, Stephen Strange spends up all of his fortune looking for a way to fix his hands once again.

Then he visited to Tibetan palace hearing a rumor about an aged sorcerer named the Ancient One. Unbeknownst to him that the Ancient One has also rescued him previously from Mordo’s evil plan in Stephen‘s youth. Karl Mordo was simply jealous because he knew who Stephen Strange would become in the future. Though sorcerer refused to cure his hands, Strange is offered lessons in the arts of mysticism. Deeply frustrated at this disappointment, he immediately tries to leave the place at once but got stuck because of a sudden blizzard.

During his stay, Stephen witnessed Baron Mordo, an apprentice of the Ancient One, secretly attacks his teacher using mystic arts and confronted him about these actions. Mordo silenced him with restraining spells so that Strange couldn't warn the sorcerer about his treachery. Seeing these amazing capabilities of mysticism, he took Ancient One's offer to defeat Mordo. Since he approached the sorcerer for selfless reasons, the Ancient One happily took Stephen as his new pupil and revealed that he knew about Mordo all along.

The Ancient One started training Strange and after years of exercise, he was ready for a test against Death. He successfully passed the test and received ageless life just like his mentor did 600 years ago. Strange came to know many sorcerers from around the world and returned home after seven years. In New York's Greenwich Ville, Strange established his Sanctum Sanctorum, where he served as a mystic consultant while being served by his trusty aide Wong, whose entire bloodline is dedicated to serve the Ancient One.

The Super-Hero Era was just ushered at this time with the public introduction of Fantastic Four. In the mean time, Strange was busy with enemies of supernatural like Baron Mordo, Nightmare and Thor's half-brother Loki, who made him attack the God of Thunder. Soon the tables were turned and he got back at the God of Mischief for misleading him. A young Spider-Man teamed up with Doctor Strange and upon witnessing his heroism, Strange comes to consider Spidey as a friend, resulting in many future team-ups.

Dark Dimension
When Dormammu of the Dark Dimension sensed the Ancient One's power depleting, he decides to invade the Earth-Realm and Doctor Strange was sent by his mentor to fight this greater evil. There, he met with a mystic woman named Clea, who wanted to prevent their clash and happens to be Dormammu's niece. She believes the dimensional barriers may fall if Lord of the Dark Dimension loses but nevertheless, Strange engages his enemy and loses. As the Mindless Ones starts invading, he lends the dark lord enough power to save his realm and spare Earth as well as Clea.
