Venom – Blood In The Water | Comics

Returning as "Lethal Protector" of dinosaur-people in New York, Venom becomes hunted by Kraven the Hunter.

Reunited with his Venom symbiote once again, Eddie Brock is back in action but realizes that something is wrong with his partner. It has become very aggressive lately and therefore, he seeks help from Alchemax C.E.O. Liz Allen to get a cure. She agrees to help in exchange for a job he is tasked with and gives him an experimental treatment.

When he sleeps, his symbiote watches news on TV and tries to learn what it means to be a hero. Next morning, they bond and swing across the city and head over to Alchemax to get their medicine from Dr. Steven. It influences Eddie into going out for patrol that night and takes out a small group of robbers inside a convenience store.

Observing its host when Brock is asleep, Klyntar reflects on his time of bonding with Spider-Man when it came to learn a number of complex emotions like guilt, agony and betrayal. For very first time of its life, it has been called a parasite and a monster. It also recalls bad memories of being attached to Mac Gargan and to Lee Price recently.

Klyntar realizes that while they both want to do heroic stuffs and feel loved, he disagrees a lot with Eddie and wonders if that makes it a monster! It had a better time with Flash Thompson, who helped it to become a true hero and gain salvation. Keeping its host in sleep, he visits the hospital to see a priest he brutalized earlier and have a pep talk.

In a correction facility at New York, three inmates decide to carry out a hit on a known super-villain who is powerless and pick Lee Price. However, they all are single handedly beaten down by him even without help from symbiote. Venom sneaks up on a dirty cop and a drug dealer only to knock them both down without eating their brains.

In his apartment, Brock notices that his "Other" is acting hostile again as they almost ate the cop but his symbiote points it out that it's just hungry. He then showed up at the Fact Channel for a job interview but given their lack of enthusiasm for truth, Eddie leaves and heads toward sewers to meet dinosaur people in hopes to find some food.

They all rejoice to see Venom and took him to a bonfire where they were roasting a Moloid. Knowing these creatures always are in groups, he is worried and then a horde of Moloids came through bursting walls with a subterranian beast. Both parties clash and Venom gets swallowed by mole monster as he was trying to make peace between them.

Before his people were able to rescue him, Venom rips out of its inside and pleads to both sides to stop. He returns a dead Moloid to its people, asking them to leave in peace before starting to feast on the mole monster's flesh. Elsewhere, Kraven the Hunter was looking for a hunt that he can pursue and notices an article on dinosaur-people in sewers.

He eventually reaches there attempting to kill one of them but his prey managed to escape and reaches out to Eddie Brock by tracking his scent. Sergei Kravinoff prepares himself to go on a full-scale hunt and came across Venom when he arrived at the sewers to kill more of dinosaur-people only to set a hidden bear-trap on him during their chase.

Venom was able to free himself and got shot by Kraven before he leaves with a promise of a rematch. A heavily wounded Eddie goes to see Dr. Steven at Alchemax Tower seeking help and is stitched up. Meanwhile, Mayor Wilson Fisk of New York has appointed a task force lead by Sergei to take care of humanoid dinosaur community for good.

Seeing this on TV news, Eddie suits up and goes back to sewers to get even with Kraven and he blends in by impersonating as a NYPD SWAT team members. When he finally gets to Kravinoff, Venom is blasted by sonic attack from his old enemy Shriek. He is slammed in a wall and soon buried under rubbles as Kraven proceeds to begin his hunt.

Venom – Blood In The Water

Marvel Comics brought back writer Mike Costa (Venom – Homecoming, Venom – Land Before Crime) to script his third storyline "Blood In The Water" alongside artist Mark Bagley (Ben Reilly – Scarlet Spider – Back In The Hood, Ben Reilly – Scarlet Spider – Death's Sting) and Paulo Siqueira (Dark Reign – Skrull Kill Krew, Earth 2 – World's End).

Collecting issues #154-158 from third monthly ongoing Venom comic-book run in 2018, Marvel is bringing back original legacy numbering for current run. Eddie Brock has returned back to assume his role as "Lethal Protector" and he gets challenged by a new enemy right away, who has past ties with his arch-nemesis; The Amazing Spider-Man.

Prey of Master Hunter

Eddie has been away from his symbiote for long and has reunited with his partner after it was recently found by a disabled veteran named Lee Price. Brock helped Anti-Symbiote Task Force to separate them and take lee down to bond with Klyntar. He then fought Stegron to save a community of dinosaur-people in New York underground.

Learning about them from news, Kraven the Hunter came looking for a hunt and tangled with their appointed savior. It soon gets ugly when they both collide and Venom had to take care of Shriek as well. From here on, things will lead up to "Venom Inc." crossover arc next story-wise and then over to "The Nativity" in terms of series continuity.

Old Man Logan – Days of Anger | Comics

Not to let a nightmarish history repeat itself, Logan takes matters into his own hands to butt heads with a new Hulk Gang!

In his own timeline, Old Man Logan had a pretty messed up life more than any of his other counterparts. He killed off all the X-Men at X-Mansion under the illusion created by super-villain Mysterio during the night of villains uprising.

Long after, he finally settled down with a family of his own but the hillbilly Hulk Gang of an elderly Bruce Banner took that away from him too, causing him to unsheathe his claws once again against Pappy Banner and killing The Hulk for good (Wolverine – Old Man Logan). Then "Secret Wars" broke it all apart and he ended up in the Wastelands of the Battleworld.

As Multiverse was restored, he found himself in a reality that isn't messed up like the one he knew yet. Here he found himself among his friends that aren't still butchered by his hands and got a new chance at life.

Today, Logan goes to Fat Joe's Diner like he usually does once in a while to take a break from work. Sooner as he entered there, he smelled something fishy and realized soon that he has walked straight into a trap set by a few remaining members of former Hulk Gang of now-deceased Pappy Banner.

Old Man Logan – Days of Anger | Comics

Although he clearly remembers sparing none other than Bruce Banner Jr. and Billy-Bob, apparently there are a couple more of them and they started to rain down on Logan without wasting a single moment. Back at this old routine, he mercilessly takes down all of them but Billy-Bob still got away.

He landed on an abandoned Department H facility in Canada and reported back to their current leader, who turns out to be an elder Bruce Banner from a future alternate reality known as The Maestro (Future Imperfect).

To compromise the cover of their existence, Maestro berates and beats Billy-Bob before being stopped by Cambria. Maestro and the remaining Hulk Gang members rushed out of the place and took over another after killing all the occupant humans.

Even though the facility was left clean, Logan traced it back and upon reaching there, he deduced that the Hulks are up to something that involves nuclear weaponries. So, he hit the road again in search for them and called his old friend Puck from Alpha Flight to look up.

Knowing how dangerous Logan really is, Maestro sends a few Hulks with Billy-Bob to find him and gun him down as soon as they do. They found him on his way on road and smoked him down with all they had.

Logan discovers himself shackled with chains when he regained consciousness and got gunned down once again. Now, not only he has to survive the gun-toting Hulk Gang, he needs to find out their plans with those nuclear weapons and need someone to help; probably his former ally Hawkeye.

Old Man Logan – Days of Anger

Taking place on the second monthly ongoing series of Old Man Logan, "Days of Anger" is a six-part storyline that came out in 2017. It collects issues #25-30 from same series by Marvel Comics, who hired writer Ed Brisson (Secret Avengers, Secret Wars – Battleworld) for plotting out this entire arc along with fan-favorite artist Mike Deodato Jr. (Guardians of Knowhere, Original Sin), who also provided cover arts for all involving issues.

Logan Vs. The Hulk Gang!

Brisson actually plays with classic idea of a "Hulk Vs. Wolverine" showdown here in "Days of Anger", which always wins an audience over. Only this time, both Hulk and Wolverine of Prime Marvel Universe is dead. So, he worked his plan out by picking two alternate versions of these popular characters from two different realities and bringing them on same place, at the same time but for different reasons to face each other.

All of it played out really well and it really worked out pretty nicely. We eventually got an epic battle between the elder versions of feral mutant and the green raging monster. Special guest appearance was made by Alpha Flight member Puck and long-time Avenger member Hawkeye to advance further with the plot.

In shock and awe, he wanders to the old Asgard as f something was calling him. There, he found the Mjolnir from Ultimate Universe, which transformed him into The War Thor upon lifting it up.

The Mighty Thor – The War Thor (Softcover)

The Mighty Thor – The War Thor (Hardcover)

The arc of "The War Thor" takes place following Malekith's recent war on the second monthly ongoing volume of The Mighty Thor from Marvel Comics on 2018, collecting issues #20-23 of the series and includes an issue from "Generations" crossover event.

The storyline was created by writer Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thanos Rising) with aid from artist Mahmud Asrar (All-New X-Men – The Ultimate Adventure, Wolverine and the X-Men – Tomorrow Never Learns), Russell Dauterman (The Mighty Thor – Lords of Midgard, The Mighty Thor – Thunder In Her Veins) and Valerio Schiti (Guardians of the Galaxy – Emperor Quill, Guardians of the Galaxy – Wanted).

Events that took place during "The Unworthy Thor", when Odinson tried to stop Thanos and The Collector from getting their hands on the Mjolnir of Ultimate Thor are also referenced in the story. Plus, there is a great team-up between the Thor, who was worshiped by the Vikings and The Mighty Thor, the goddess of thunder.

The powerhouse duo of these two takes on the eternal mutant Apocalypse in ancient Egypt. Plus, we got a brand-new villain in Sindr, the daughter of Surtur, who is up to ushering another "Ragnarok" and perhaps this time it will be the end of realms.

Thanos – The God Quarry | Comics

While Thanos is weakened, his son Thane becomes a greater threat that can only be stopped by The Mad Titan.

The all-powerful Thanos was slowly dying and guided by his former love Death, his son Thane created an alliance with Champion of the Universe, Nebula and Starfox. It was a ploy for Thane to bond with Phoenix Force and upon gaining this near-limitless power; he betrayed his comrades firsthand and then overthrow Thanos after rendering him mortal.

On ruins of Titan, he is now forced to live scavenging and feed on mugrats. This great destroyer is even mugged by two lowlife scavengers Biv and Tiv in his weakened state until he was found by Starfox and his allies.

Now literally possessing the power of a God, Thane is killing everyone and everything on sight in the name of his love for Lady Death. As son of The Mad Titan becomes a new Destroyer of Worlds, Champion of the Universe Tryco Slatterus, Nebula and Starfox seeks out Thanos for his help.

They want to find and stop Thane before he obliterates rest of the universe with his power. He reluctantly agrees to help them but asks them to take him to The Cosmic Coven first to get his powers back from Witches of Infinity.

Flying through uncharted reaches of space, Nebula's ship came near a black hole, which Thanos claims to be the location they are looking for. Leaving Nebula and Tryco behind, Starfox and his brother enters the black hole that sucks them right in and drops them at The God Quarry.

The Witches of Infinity welcomes Thanos and his brother to their den and The Mad Titan demands to know secrets of the coven so that he can regain his powers back. As Starfox tries to charm them with his power of persuasion, the sisters render him old and weak for this foolish attempt.

In response to Thanos seeking to regain his power, Infinity Witches explain to him that this coven holds power of all forgotten gods and the quarry gives or takes that to only people who willingly enter it to face a trial of their soul.

Failing of that trial would cause one to stick within these walls of the quarry for rest of eternity. So, The Mad Titan willingly embarks a personal journey into quarry and soon it claimed him. While he was stuck in coven, Thane has been looking for him all over and finds Nebula's ship.

Thanos then finds himself in a world where he is one of Earth’s Mightiest Hero and leader of The Avengers team but all of these seems odd to him right from the very beginning. With a glimpse back at his former life, he remembers who he actually is and realizes that he has been given a chance of redemption to be good.

Sensing this, he slaughters all of his imaginary allies and breaks free of the coven. Thanos now returns in all-new glory to face his Phoenix-empowered son for a final showdown of might.

Thanos – The God Quarry

"The God Quarry" is the second in line after "Thanos Returns", that ran from issues #07-12 of the second ongoing volume of Thanos monthly series. Comic-book writer Jeff Lemire (Beowulf, Essex County) and artist German Peralta were the ones from the creative team to depict the story as it is.

In the previous stoyline, artist Mike Deodato Jr. (New Avengers, Original Sin) served as a penciller but he provided only cover arts for this arc from Marvel Comics. With the upcoming release of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Marvel is re-defining The Mad Titan throughout the series.

The storyline features the cameo appearance of The Avengers in a dream sequence where Daredevil, Hercules, Ironheart, Jane Foster's Thor, Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, Sam Wilson's Captain America, Spider-Man, Vision and Wasp fights The Abomination. Ultimately, they all perish at the hands of Thanos when he finishes his trial.

In the climax of the story, both Thanos and Thane engage in a battle of might that can shake the entire cosmos and will come to conclusion at the Cosmic Coven. Then there is the unnecessary and weird hook-up between Nebula and Tryco when everyone else was busy finding a way to defeat Thane.

Defenders – Diamonds Are Forever | Comics

Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage must form The Defenders to keep the streets safe from a deadly enemy of past.

Harlem's very own bulletproof man Luke Cage was coming back home from the market and talking to some schoolgirls of the neighborhood when he is suddenly ambushed with a rocket launcher. Cage quickly jumped off to save the bystanders.

He then rushed to a nearby building rooftop to chase the assailant but found a few diamond on the ground. He then receives a call and went to hospital to see his wife Jessica Jones, who was also attacked in her Alias Investigations Office and left heavily injured.

Daredevil came following them as someone attacked his alter ego Matt Murdock too in broad daylight and points out that someone has targeted four of them. Before Luke could ask about the fourth victim, Danny Rand, the Iron Fist was also marked.

As they were discussing who it could be, Jessica regains consciousness only to reveals it was Diamondback who came at her office to talk to her about a recent raid by vigilante hero Daredevil, Iron Fist and her husband Luke Cage at Club Ultimate. When she asks him to leave, he shot at her and then left some diamonds by her side.

Black Cat then goes to meet Diamondback at his club and asks him about his intention, also pointing out his unusual return from being dead. As he explains his plan to take over New York while Hammerhead makes a call to Luke Cage to inform him on Willis Stryker.

Shortly, Cage comes crashing down seeking revenge over Willis for shooting his wife but the latter came prepared as he incapacitates Luke with toxic dust and left him to die after giving him a severe beating while Black Cat watched it all in horror.

Jessica meets Daredevil and Iron Fist in a bar as her investigation gave her no lead on Diamondback so far and Matt proposes that they should team up. She rushes to Night Nurse's clinic as soon as she hears Luke's news. With assistance from Vampire Hunter Blade, Nurse Linda Carter eventually manages to save Luke.

Jessica goes straight up to Club Ultimate to confront Diamondback as Matt and Danny join her but the villain surprisingly overpowers them all and ran. The trio then gave him a chase on street only to be gunned down by another vigilante known as The Punisher.

Danny, Jessica and Matt wake up at Night Nurse's clinic beside Luke Cake, who is surprised to hear that Frank Castle has actually shot at them. While Daredevil and Luke cage goes to apprehend Castle for some questioning, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist decide to take on Diamondback.

However, Willis tossed Jessica within her car when he spotted her and then broke Danny's back after blocking one of his powerful chi-Punch with ease. The mean street of New York now just got even meaner with their entire rampage and this marks a new formation of The Defenders.

Marvel's The Defenders
television series on online streaming-service Netflix was one of the hottest buzz in 2017 and to catch up with the show, Marvel Comics decided to bring back Defenders monthly ongoing series in publication.

Also, it followed the TV line-up for heroes by putting Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist together to reform the band once again. The plot was conceived by veteran writer Brian Michael Bendis (Avengers Disassembled, House of M) and artist David Marquez (Civil War II, Invincible Iron Man – Reboot) assisted him in envisioning the entire story with his sensational artwork.

The Punisher Strikes!

They brought back one of the oldest villain from Luke Cage's life who was dead for a long time and then just to make things a bit more interesting, Marvel dropped The Punisher in the story. Looks like Willis Stryker himself was quite a handful for the four of the Defenders of New York with his newfound enhanced strength.

There was a small cameo of Elektra, who is marking her return into their lives. When this is all set and done, a certain Merc with a Mouth is called in by private eye Jessica Jones to lend a hand or two in upcoming arc "Kingpins of New York".

Cable – Conquest | Comics

Cable starts a centuries-spanning chase from modern day to dawn of time to save reality from a villain named Conquest.

Time-travelling mutant Cable goes back to Arizona territory of 1874 and walks into a bar. No sooner had he entered, he is confronted by four locals with future-tech guns after he tossed one of them out and soon took care of the rest.

Since all of them were well aware of him coming, he interrogates one of them by hanging him upside down to find out what the person was after that he came here chasing through time stream. That guy took him to a time marker burned into rocks where Cable's target vanished and led him to feudal Japan.

Arriving near a village, Cable finds it entirely on flames and everyone in it murdered except for a woman and her son, who informed him that men with swords of fire did this. Tracking the attackers from the village, he came across a group of Rōnin who engaged him in a high-tech sword fight and even sliced his bionic arm off.

In a flashback, the man Cable has been chasing after approaches lord Daimyo Amaru Hideyoshi for his aid but left the place in flames when he was insulted and rejected before he met those Rōnins in a group.

Cable – Conquest | Comics

As a traveller, he apprached the group of Rōnins and armed them with weapons to deal with Nathan Summers. Using his telekinetic powers, not only did he defeat entire Rōnin squad single-handedly but he took his severed arm back too.

Nathan forced the last Rōnin to show him the time marker and this time, he jumped back to year 1121 at Yucatán Coast of Mayan Civilization. Upon arriving, he is immediately attacked by some locals with bird-like high-tech wings and Cable ended up saving a priest named Kagan from them.

After Nate defeated all the ensuing attackers, Kagan greets Cable before taking him to his temple. He reveals that the man he's after is known as Conquest has came to his city looking for an ancient relic which belonged to a Time Sword, which was created by The Eternals.

It was destroyed by The Inhumans during Eternals/Inhumans War. Then broken pieces of the sword were scattered throughout various point of history by its power. Conquest wants to assemble all shattered pieces to re-forge Time Sword so that he can pierce through time and change history as he sees fit.

For a priest, Kagan seem to have a lot of knowledge about Time Sword and he informs all of it's history to Nate. After fighting a couple of dozens more of corrupted locals devoted to Conquest, Cable managed to get to time marker of this era and traveled back to Conquest's current location in 1908's Russia.

Looks like Conquest have already managed to collect three pieces and needs the remaining two to make it whole again before Cable can finally stop him and save the future from becoming a mess.

Cable – Conquest

Following the aftermath of "Inhumans Vs. X-Men" crossover event, Marvel Comics has decided to re-launch a few of their monthly ongoing titles once again as part of "ResurrXion" event. The storyline "Conquest" collects issues #01-05 from the third monthly series of Cable and with that, Askani'son returns to action once again.

So, comic-book writer James Robinson (Age of Ultron Vs. Marvel Zombies, Armor Wars – Warzones!) and artist Carlos Pacheco (Bishop, Fantastic Four) was brought in to conceive a new plot for first story-arc "Conquest" for third monthly volume of Cable. Artist Dale Keown (Darkness/Hulk, Hulk/Pitt) was also roped in to provide cover art for all the issues involved in this plot.

Behold, Conquest!

Even though Cable is an honorary member of X-Men, very often his own responsibility of watching over time stream puts him into solo missions. The story introduces a new time-travelling rival for him named Conquest, who had no prior history of tangling with him or any of the other Marvel characters though.

The motives of this new villain are somewhat similar to Kang the Conqueror but only to a much smaller scale of course that Nathan alone can handle with some struggle. However, there are chances that this guy throws the fate of the universe into jeopardy in foreseeable future that forces to assemble The Avengers and Fantastic Four alongside the X-Men.
