The Walking Dead – The Calm Before | Comics

Lori was silently thinking about the time which was initially after the worldwide outbreak when she had sex with Shane at the side of a road while Carl was sleeping inside the back of the car. As she was worrying about Rick's situation, Shane comforts her by saying that everything will be alright in the end. However, she was still unsure on how to approach Rick about it when they finally reunites. Rick talks with her about the present but Lori still seems to have been indulged into her own thoughts for a while.

Glenn and Maggie finally ties the knot of holy matrimony in the prison cafeteria with Hershel’s blessings and approval for them. Everything in the prison compound seemingly starts running back to normal again. Even though she was uncertain about how to confront Rick about this, that night, Lori finally confesses the truth she’s been hiding from Rick all along about her and Shane, noting the possibility of her unborn child could be of Shane’s and Rick confirms that he already knows this but chose not to talk about it.

Next day, Rick, Tyreese and Dale decide after a quick inventory check that they need more weaponry to defend themselves from The Governer and the Woodbury group if they are truly planning to attack on them. The group of Andrea, Axel, Glenn, Maggie, Michonne and Tyreese goes for a supply run and found the National Guard Station which the Woodbury forces were using till then and collects whatever they can along with a large army truck.

After gathering necessary supplies from there, the group blew up the station to make sure that the Woodbury men will not be able to collect anything from there. On their way back from the run, they met a few of Governor's men when they stopped at an abandoned Wal-Mart and engage in gun fight after one of them recognizes Glenn and shot at him. Back at the prison, Lori goes into labor and gives birth to a baby girl child who is named Judith.

In the middle of all that Dale got bit in the leg when he and Billy Greene went to siphon gas from the cars outside to run the generator they discovered earlier. To save him from infection and turning into a Walker, Rick quickly amputates his leg. Carol goes nuts as she loses grip over the reality of the world and there's enemy at the gates to lay waste of their new found home and take it away.

The Walking Dead – The Calm Before

The Calm Before” is the seventh storyline of The Walking Dead monthly ongoing comic-book series, which collects issue #37-42 from the title and is published from Image Comics in 2007. Series creator and regular writer Robert Kirkman (Image United, Invincible) and artist Charlie Adlard (Judge Dredd, The X-Files) continues to chronicle the events of undead apocalypse just like the previous issues. “The Calm Before” perhaps is one of the slowest running arc of the entire series.

Welcome to The Tombs

Elements shown in the book like Carol becoming suicidal was never really adapted into the live-action adaptation of The Walking Dead TV Show on AMC. Instead, Carol's character lived and became one of the long-lived characters from the show till date. The story was preceded by “This Sorrowful Life” before and is followed by the epic “Made To Suffer” storyline which also belongs to the same series and marks a great reckoning for the characters of the series.

She also killed off some Walkers following the fight that sparked protests against her violent manner and she is knocked out once again.

Upon learning the location of Governor's house from Alice, Michonne goes to pay him a visit saying she will catch up with them later.. As The Governor was busy feeding his zombified niece Penny, she breaks into his apartment and knocks him over. After tying him up real good, she tortures him with many objects like drill, hammer and her own katana to cripple the maniac in every possible way she could to a severity where he keeps blacking out. When his men finally arrived, she quickly escapes from there before getting caught.

After merely being able to escape from Governor's men, Michonne walks for an entire night to catch up with Rick and his gang to the helicopter crash site. In response to Rick's question of whether she killed Governor or not, she acts oddly ad continues walking. When they all are back in prison, Rick and his friends finds a reanimated Otis wandering around and entire prison yard is completely overrunned by hordes of Walkers pouring in from outside. Inside the seemingly abandoned Dale's RV, they found Dale and Andrea hiding from the zombies lurking around.

As they clear off all the undeads, Rick's group all finally reunites together in C-Block and Glenn proposes to Maggie Greene for marrying him after collecting a ring from a female Walker. Tyreese substitutes for Rick on their routine Zombie watch as the former has been gravely wounded and been through a lot recently. Rick assembles everyone from the prison and after telling them about all the horrors that have happened to them back at Woodbury, prepares themselves for a battle against the tyrant Governor.

The Walking Dead – This Sorrowful Life

The sixth storyline of The Walking Dead comic series is titled "This Sorrowful Life" and it ran from issue #31-36 of monthly ongoing series, followed by the events of "The Best Defense" and this story arc takes its turn to next storyline called "The Calm Before". Series creator and writer Robert Kirkman (Battle Pope, Haunt) and artist Charlie Adlard (Judge Dredd, The X-Files) were the ones responsible for this arc published from Image Comics in 2007 and it was ranked in one of the top 10 best graphic novels around that time.

Revenge of Michonne

Key elements from this storyline were adapted to Season 3 of AMC's live-action The Walking Dead TV adaptation.Since the level of brutality and gore on this book was too violent to adapt for cable TV audience, many of the source materials were changed or completely written off. One such incident is the brutal tortures and repeated rape of Michonne's character at the hands of The Governor. Also, Governor's reanimated niece from comics is adapted as his own daughter in the series to give their relationship more depth.

New Avengers – Revolution | Comics

With couple of new recruits on their team, New Avengers team goes to Japan to bring back one of their own.

It was the day when Avengers member Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch lost control over her reality-altering powers, which started a chaos that took life of her fellow teammate Ant-Man, Hawkeye and Vision. Clint Barton wakes up months later after that incident in a park in New York and learns of his death from a newspaper.

To find answers, he goes to see Doctor Strange and though surprised, he informed that Clint is healthy and very much alive. When he wanted to know about Wanda, Strange says that she is not using her powers, so he can't track her. He then travels to Wundagore Mountain and bumped into an amnesiac Wanda living there for a while.

Civil War has ended and New Avengers have assembled themselves once again but Ronin has never left Japan. Staying there, she tangled with wannabe Yakuza mobsters and killed many of Hand ninjas. Eventually their current leader Elektra came looking for her with an army of ninjas and following a long fight, she was killed by Natchios.

Back in Harlem, Luke Cage was crossed paths with a group of "Cape-Killers" agents sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. that chased him to Sanctum Sanctorum, which appears to be sold out to Starbucks coffee chain. Stephen Strange lets him in and his wife Jessica Jones takes him to dinner table for him to join Iron Fist, Spider-Man and Wolverine.

New Avengers – Revolution | Comics

Spider-Woman came in shortly with news that Captain America is in fact alive and is kept in Raft, Ryker's Island. Though Logan suggests it's a trap, Strange sends his astral form to check in and confirm what it really is. Upon learning that they kept Cap in there, they all burst through only to come face to face with Mighty Avengers.

Iron Man orders them to stand down after negating their power but they never expected Strange to show up, who cause Tony and his group to see their worst nightmares as he made an escape for his teammates. They chased New Avengers back to Sanctum and went to see Danny Rand at Rand Corporation for answers with no result.

Before stepping into trouble, Maya Lopez sent a message to Matt Murdock about how she will likely be dead when he read this and described the whole situation. Danny received that letter and rest of his team agrees to fly to Japan but not before Brother Voodoo walks in to their front door to run a ritual and confirm Tony of his suspicion.

After Voodoo clarifies to his folks that there is no one there or at least they can't find him there, Tony goes inside the Sanctum trying to reason with them knowing he is being heard. Shortly afterwards, Clint Barton showed up there and Doctor Strange tells everyone about their meeting earlier, offering him to tag along to Japan.

After stabbing her, Elektra took Maya to revive her body with dark magic to recruit into their cult but then New Avengers came crushing into their hideout along with a stranger wearing Ronin outfit. Spider-Man is sent to rescue her and soon as they got her, Doc Strange teleports them all to Fortress Yashida, home of Silver Samurai.

Not long after they arrived, Elektra tracked them back with a swarm of Hand ninjas and Luke tries to stall them by talking down. Maya was induced with drugs that Hand gave her and once it has completed its course, she turns against her friends. With help from Danny and Strange, she was able to fight the influence and strike back.

New Avengers – Revolution (Hardcover)

In post-Civil War era, writer Brian Michael Bendis (House of M, Secret War) and artist Leinil Francis Yu (Infinity, Secret Empire) reassembled New Avengers team with a revised roster in order to start a "Revolution" that is chronicled through issues #26-31 from the first monthly ongoing titular comic-book series from Marvel Comics.

A major take away from the story is a long-anticipated return of Clint Barton and Wanda Maximoff, followed by one of them joining a resistance of heroes that his mentor, Captain America has assembled. They tangled with The Hand and its current leader, Elektra who has been running Japanese underworld for some time now.

Battle Against The Hand

Continued from her adventure in "Secrets & Lies", life of Maya Lopez goes through some rough edges. She dies and came back only to become a threat to her friends but was eventually rescued from Hand by Doc Strange and Iron Fist. Meanwhile, Iron Man becomes Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and forms Mighty Avengers with registered heroes.

Jericho Drumm AKA Brother Voodoo and Silver Samurai made short but notable appearance. "Revolution" also reveals a major secret to these outlaw heroes and will bear huge stepping stone for oncoming crossover event "Secret Invasion" soon but before that, New Avengers will continue their adventure in "The Trust" storyline next.
