Batman – Zero Year | Comics
A new band of psychotic criminals calling themselves as the Red Hood Gang is terrorizing Gotham City with their very unique way of organized crimes. On the grand opening of the Gotham National Bank, the gang goes there to rob the place blind after pre-poisoning everyone who worked there. A disguised Bruce Wayne is caught by their leader Red Hood One among the others by observing a simple flaw of his habitual trait. Bruce barely escapes through the tunnel from the crowd of GCPD and Red Hood Gang after a brief fight. While he was testing a Batarang and discussing about his recent endeavor, he is visited by Lieutenant Jim Gordon for a brief chat involving some irregular vigilante activities in the neighborhood which Bruce swore to know nothing about. In the meantime, the Red Hood Gang targets Bruce Wayne to pay an unpleasant visit.

Next up, Bruce starts flipping the bird right on the face of Red Hood One in every step he takes and pisses him off. In one morning Bruce’s uncle and the current CEO of Wayne Enterprises; Philip Kane comes to visit, who wants him to go public but Bruce is reluctant about it. Philip’s strategist Edward Nygma suggests him to kill his nephew to get ahead in the power play but he declines the idea. As Gotham City is about to be introduced to the greatest protector it ever had, it’s also going to have a mastermind villain making his grand debut who is literally about to bring the whole city to its knees with puzzles and riddles. Bruce comes out of shadow to face the evil but an accident may have given birth to another one.

The October Faction | Comics

Years into the business of monster-hunting came to end for Frederick Allan when he chose to lead a life like any other normal folk. But if you spend a good chunk of your life-time playing a monster slayer then you cannot expect to have a normal life at all no matter how much you try. He now lectures on the concept of various fabled monsters and their origins to the students in a local university, which seems like a dull job compared to his old days as a hunter.

He has a small family of two children and a lovely wife, something about them is also not too ordinary either. While his teenage kids Geoff and Vivian are not only weird but they are more than eager to join their father’s path to the monster-hunting business.

That leaves Allan’s creepy spouse Deloris Allan, who is a forever thrill-killer, bored with her current status as the professor’s wife. His best friend and former partner Lucas is also around these days who left the job after he contacted an infection during a mission that turned him into a Werewolf.

A seemingly loose-knitted family of weirdos that Allan is a part of and trying to get along with after spending all those years apart from them. Suddenly they all are thrown into a troubled world, which is filled with old adversaries and strange apparitions from his past, all wanting to get a piece of Frederick Allan or his family at any cost. And let’s not forget the trusted Allan family house-keeper Saunders, who also is a bearer of oddness and witness to many uncanny family secrets.

Fan-favorite horror writer of modern days, Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Criminal Macabre) starts a new venture of a crazy-family bound to the core by the glue of craziness, as a monthly ongoing series titled ‘The October Faction’. Fellow creator cum artist Damien Worm joins his endeavor by providing rough edged monochromatic illustrations that perfectly matched the gritty tone of the story.

Previously worked mostly on various limited series, this is the first time Niles have taken a series to an ongoing status from the banner of IDW Publishing in which platform he previously worked and achieved groundbreaking success. So far, October Faction seems to be following up to that stream.

When his maternal uncle Philip Kane met with him, he turned down the plan of reversing his own legal death to public. Meanwhile, Philip's strategist Edward Nygma suggests Philip to kill Bruce Wayne, so that he could gain public sympathy and get steer clear of the power struggle that he is going to face with Bruce in near future.

Elsewhere, crime lord Oswald Cobblepot is rescued by Bruce Wayne from Red Hood One and during their short confrontation he acquires a blood sample of the gang leader but surprisingly he could not found any match for it in any records. Against his will, Philip unveils Bruce to the public and after moving from there he meets Edward Nygma. When he reaches to Brownstone, it blew up and he meets the Red Hood Gang, who was expecting him. Red Hood One and the gang beat the living hell out of Bruce, shot him twice and left him to die. Amazing Spider-Man – Graveyard Shift | Comics

Peter Parker returns home to discover Parker Industries being invaded by corporate saboteur and infamous super-villain Ghost.

Returning home recently after leading a group of Spider-People from Multiverse against an inter-dimensional murderous family of The Inheritors to victory, Peter Parker is back as The Amazing Spider-Man. Although not at his top form, Pete is more confident than ever to lead his company Parker Industries towards a better future.

Fighting over Morlun and his family took a lot of life force out of him lately and therefore, he was having a bit hard time against reptilian super-villain Iguana. Amidst his struggle, he gets a call from Aunt May, who was worried for not hearing from him for days and wants to know if Peter is still bringing Anna Maria Marconi to dinner.

May wasn't aware that he and Anna are not dating anymore, which makes him uncomfortable. He then gets a call from Anna shortly afterwards and when Iguana realizes that Spidey is on phone, his lack of mannerism greatly bothers him. Anna reminds Peter that he has been missing for days and now is needed for an important meeting soon.

His co-worker Sajani Jaffrey cuts in to tell him to arrive there and present his idea to committee for a prison contract. As he explains how people need to show compassion and understanding towards bad-guys, he was beating down Iguana. When Pete hears that they are competing against Alchemax for the deal, he quickly wraps things up.

Alchemax co-founder Liz Allan was slightly worried seeing Peter since he always manages to win in the end and wished that he wouldn't succeed this time. Overhearing this, her stepbrother Mark Raxton who was former super-villain Molten Man and Ty Stone then plans on hiring corporate saboteur Ghost to infiltrate Parker Industries.

During dinner at Aunt May and Jay's apartment, Anna Maria covers a break-up story for Peter and she had him change suit to swing back at HQ. There, Sajani was going nuts over Parker Industries trying to create a super villain prison is a bad idea but former criminal Clayton Cole points out that Pete is also focusing on reforming them.

They are interrupted by a security guard who reports of a system anomaly only to see Anna and Peter making an entrance. This really surprised her as she has upgraded system after Black Cat broke in earlier and was supposed to get a text from Pete. Sajani gets annoyed knowing they came through a secret door that she didn't know about.

In their security hub, Ghost has broken in and after sealing all exits, deactivated all means of communication to outside. He took out a guard and then turned all security measures against employees of Parker Industries. In an attempt to save his co-workers from bot attacks, Peter starts using his powers before changing into Spider-Man.

Meanwhile, former jewel thief turned tough as nails mob-boss Black Cat is set to establish her name in criminal underworld and since she can't steal everything, someone needs to pay. When her lackey Melter and Killer Shrike brought Ringer to her back room, she made an example out of him for due payment and trying to get a drop on her.

Trying to be one of the good guys didn't work well for Black Cat in past and she decides to take back what was once hers. So, she kidnaps Jay Jameson and May Parker alongside jealous millionaire Regina Venderkamp before stealing everything she bought earlier from an auction that once belonged to Felicia to set them all on fire.
