Created by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert, The Flash is one of the most notable superhero of the DC Universe. For generations, the mantle of these super heroes has been passed to Barry Allen from Jay Garrick. Then after the death of Barry during Crisis on Infinite Earths, his nephew Wally West became the newest Flash.

In the afterwards of the "Flashpoint" crossover, the entire timeline of the DC Universe was changed by The New 52 wave and just like all other DC Comics characters, The Flash also received altered origin in the Prime Earth timeline.

Superman – Birthright | Comics

With the annihilation of the planet Krypton, scientist Jor-El grieves over the fact that no one will ever be able to know and remember of what the Kryptonian race have ever invented and achieved while in the existence so far. While thinking of this, he prepares a space pod for his infant son Kal-El, to send him away from their doomed planet with a slight chance for his son to survive this inevitable doom upon their world.

While watching Kal-El's spaceship to pass shortly before the destruction of the planet, they wonders if their son is going to survive out there in a new alien world. Kal-El's rocket ship had landed on Earth, found by a generous Kansas couple Jonathan and Martha Kent, who raised the alien baby boy as their own in their farm with humbleness and moral code.

To the present day, Kal-El has taken the name of Clark Kent, established himself as a freelance reporter and became aware of the fact that the more nourishing alien atmosphere of Earth has given him incredible superhuman strengths and god-like abilities that are far beyond superior of normal humans, making him a superior being than the humans that inherit it.

As Clark Kent, he secretly uses his powers to save people from natural and other calamities whenever he can. Before he became the Man of Steel, he used to know Lex Luthor from his days at Kansas, who would become one of his greatest enemy for life. After finishing his tour around the world, Clark sets foot on Metropolis to join the Daily Planet as a reporter, then to meet Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane eventually.

Stepping aside from the regular DC Universe, writer Mark Waid (JLA – Year One, Kingdom Come) has teamed up with artist Leinil Francis Yu (New Avengers, Secret Invasion) to re-invent the origin story for Superman. For years we have known him as a humble and polite guy who fights for truth, justice and the American way.

Save that, it's time for the readers of a new generation to know him even better as DC Comics has taken the initiative of re-telling his origin story in a 12 issue limited series with two of the finest comic book creators in 2003. Later, in a similar attempt, DC Comics published another limited series titled Superman – Secret Origin.

The Thing | Comics

Born and grown up on a troubled family of Manhattan's lower East Side or more specifically on the neighborhood of Yancy Street, Benjamin Jacob Grimm struggled his way to high school. He played football as the "Grimm Reaper" for the State University of New York and befriended brilliant science student Reed Richards who was eager to build a starship for space travel and Grimm promised to pilot Reed’s ship if he can do so.

He joined the U.S. Air Force and returned as a test pilot who eventually flies the ship that Reed built to space along with their friend Susan and her brother Johnny Storm. But as they encountered a storm of cosmic radiation in space, the ship was unable to shield them from its effect and they immediately returned home aborting the mission.

The cosmic radiation altered all of their DNA to cellular level, giving them superpowers and causing change. Grimm had turned into an orange-colored, rock-skinned super-strong being who is dubbed as “The Thing”. Together they decided to help humanity with their new-found gifts and formed the Fantastic Four. Not only he was a part of saving Earth from Galactus but he is often the key to their victory.

Grimm dates a blind sculptress Alicia Masters and also has history of fighting the Hulk, Silver Surfer and Wolverine. He was drafted to Secret Wars, even was killed by Dr. Doom and later brought back to life by his friends (Hereafter). He became one of the worthies of The Serpent who battled Thor as well as the Red Hulk (Avengers – Fear Itself).
