Harley Quinn | Comics

Before starting her criminal career and a twisted love affair with Gotham’s very own Clown-Prince of Crime, Harleen Francis Quinzel was a brilliant graduate from the Gotham State University. She possessed a genius-level intellect and had a scholarship on gymnastics while studying Psychiatry from Dr. Odin Markus.

She believed that a person can break the law if he commits a crime or is in love. She was doing great with her graduation and having a good relationship with her boyfriend Guy Kopski while trying to test her thesis on her.

Guy eventually died after going through a series of freak incidents that convinced her that she was responsible for pulling the trigger. Later, it came out that Dr. Markus actually drugged her boyfriend with a dose of Joker Venom to make him shoot himself in stress following a series of events and to see what Harley would do afterwards.

She realized that she finally understood the notorious criminal, The Joker and decides to study him further in Arkham Asylum. With reference from her mentor, Doctor Quinzel secured an internship at Arkham and eventually got her way to its most infamous patient.

Even though extremely dangerous, she was given complete access to the maniacal clown once she claimed she was writing a book on criminally insane serial killers. The Clown sees the love in her eyes even after initially trying to choke her and laughs it off when she says she wouldn’t mind if he even calls her Harley Quinn.

The Joker escaped Arkham couple of times with her help and after repeating it several times, she got caught. Then she started to pursue a criminal career with her new boyfriend to often end up facing Batman.

Mad Love
After a failed attempt to murder Commissioner Gordon, The Joker and Harley Quinn went into hiding as the former was badly beaten. Annoyed at his failure, he rejects Harley's lustful advancement and kicked her out of his place.

Realizing, her boyfriend apparently pays no attention to her for his obsession towards The Dark Knight, she took it upon herself to kill Batman. Using a piranha-tank trap that the Clown Prince of Crime previously rejected for piranhas not being able to smile, she eventually traps The Bat by luring him into it.

Hanging upside-down over the piranhas below, Batman realizes that he cannot get out of this trap without some assistance at all. So he goads her into calling The Joker, who upon arriving gets mad on her for trying to steal his dream instead of being glad for capturing his arch-enemy. Before freeing his enemy, Joker violently disciplines his girlfriend but the next moment tries to shoot at him.

However, he missed and shot at the piranha tank only to be overwhelmed by dozens of razor-sharp tooth fish. He was presumed dead after fell off from a train in a fight with The Dark Knight and Harley is taken back to Arkham.

Joker's Last Laugh
During his time at Slab penitentiary, Mister J finds out that he has a terminal brain cancer and so he decided to go crazy for one last time. After "jokerizing" every other inmate of his, he was chased by Justice League of America for creating worldwide havoc.

Worried about leaving his legacy behind, he sends Carnivora, Dervish, Killer Frost and Phobia to kidnap his girlfriend so that he could impregnate her with little puppy J. As Harley reached out Oracle for help, she was rescued by Batgirl, Power Girl and Spoiler. Later, Lady Luna and Moonrock were sent after the comedienne but she was saved by Poison Ivy.

Hush
Bruce Wayne goes to Gotham City Opera House with his close-friends Leslie Thompkins, Selina Kyle and Tommy Elliot but it turns out Harley Quinn was present to upstage a robbery. She and her henchmen took everyone in the orchestra hostage and when pushed off by Tommy for trying to steal his mother's jade pendant, she starts firing carelessly at all direction.

Though Batman interfered quickly, he was easily thrown off balance because of a recent injury and Catwoman stepped in time to save him. She even gave Harley a chase after kicking her on face but ended up getting shot and badly wounded.

Aliens Versus Predator | Comics

The Aliens AKA Xenomorphs are the most fierce being that have ever existed in the furthest corner of the galaxy. These murderous creatures were found at first by the humans in the 22nd century by the crews of spacecraft USCSS Nostromo on the planetoid LV-426 and Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley was the lone survivor of that encounter.

But humans were not aware that somewhere out there a very dangerous humanoid extraterrestrial species called The Yautja, lives to hunt on these genocidal beings for sports and is known as the Predators. The Predators travel planet-to-planet for game hunting as part of a century old ritual and the Xenomorphs are one of their prime subject as these savage beasts are extremely dangerous to be trifled with on any given day.

The Yautja are the "Hunters", who captures and then breed the Xenomorphs as part of their hunting culture whom they recognize as "Serpents". A human female, Machiko Noguchi were allowed among the ranks of the Hunter Clan once to slay the Xenomorphs alongside them. It appears that the Yautja were visiting Earth and many other planets for more than over centuries and they have a hunting relationship going with the Xenomorphs over time.

Though most of the time the Predators carry out the game-hunting of Xenomorphs in a distant uninhabited planet, sometime the situation gets way out of the hand where the humans are trapped in the middle of a war between two deadliest species of the galaxy and pays the ultimate price with their lives.

Media described this incident as "mystery explosion" and Protex denied of any involvement to Superman. He and Flash assembles meets rest of their teammates on Secret Sanctuary in Rhode Island, except for Aquaman. Coming out of shadows, Batman reveals to be there already an hour ago and declares that they are now at war with Hyperclan.

Hyperclan members carve out a watchtower structure in wastelands of Antarctica, calling it Z'onn Z'orr. News media from across the globe went there and two more gigantic structures emerge. Batman theorizes for them using mind control transmitters to spread mass hysteria among people but Green Lantern failed to find any.

Martian Manhunter suggests that they split into teams to take down those watchtower bases. When looking for Arthur, Diana encounters shape-shifter Fluxus and his teammate Tronix but ended up getting captured in spite of putting up a good fight. Flash was paired with GL and was waiting for J'onn to show up at Gobi Desert.

Seeing super-speedster ZüM coming at them from far, Wally engages him in a race, leaving "rookie" Kyle alone to deal with Armek and Zenturion. Meanwhile, Protex invites J'onn to a meeting, so that he can be convinced to join their group.

Batman and Superman came in contact with A-Mortal and Primaid on their way but are separated. Even though Supes hits the ground hard, he knocks down Primaid but unable to get his friend out of Batplane before it exploded. He could not find any trace of The Bat in crash site and collapsed when Protex showed up with a Kryptonite.

Defeated, they all are taken to Z'onn Z'orr but none of Hyperclan members cared to check for Batman or his body. With everyone of Justice League has fallen or gone missing and even Superman is beaten down, there are no one left behind to stand between these alien invaders and save the people of Earth from an imminent doom.

JLA – New World Order

Kick-starting a new monthly ongoing JLA comic-book series, writer Grant Morrison (All-Star Superman, Final Crisis) and artist Howard Porter (Flash – Rogue War, Flash – The Secret of Barry Allen) teams up for DC Comics to create four-part storyline "New World Order" back in 1997 that collects first four issues of the volume.

League members Icemaiden, Metamorpho, Nuklon and Obsidian were present in guest-appearances. Marvel Comics characters, Doctor Doom and Wolverine showed up for a brief cameo, where they were supposedly killed by Hyperclan.

A Dark Knight To Save The Day

"New World Order" comes after three-issue JLA limited series "Midsummer's Nightmare" and its included issues are all named after 50's popular sci-fi movies like Them!, The Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds and Invaders from Mars, clearly dropping some hints to readers about where story premise was slowly heading.

Morrison was tasked to re-invent iconic team of DC heroes following events of Final Night crossover event and he started with an alien invasion on Earth to reunite original "Magnificent Seven" members of superhero team Justice League and re-establish their glory days that will continue in his second story titled "American Dreams".

Predator | Comics

On an alien prime home world of their own, there lives an extraterrestrial race of humanoid beings known as The Yautja, or simply as Predators. These beings are one of the most deadly species that ever existed in the universe as they constantly prey on other dangerous life forms for sport using blades, retractable spears and nets.

Other than that they also uses advanced energy based laser weapons and camouflage technology. Upon setting the traps and playfully killing the prey, the Predators often mutilate the body of its victim to collect the head as a trophy. This hunting also somehow proves their worthiness to their clan as established hunters and led them in conflict with many races; even humans.

For centuries, the Predators have been visiting earth along with many other inhabitable planets of the solar system and their inhabitants for the purpose of better game hunting and till date, the Alien Xenomorphs are the best opponents they have ever encountered throughout the entire galaxy.

Killing Xenomorphs on their first hunt sought to prove their worth to the clan they belongs and a Yautja with a reputation of destroying Alien hives are regarded with highest honor. Yet, they also found the humans quite formidable on few of their visits on Earth and eventually either met defeat at a human’s hand or teamed-up with them to face greater threats like massive Xenomorph outbreaks or The Engineers.
