Daredevil | Comics

Matt Murdock grew up in Hell's Kitchen and was destined to become the blind superhero Daredevil, the Man Without Fear.

Mathew Murdock was the son of Jonathan "Battling Jack" Murdock, who used to be a prize-fighting boxer living in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York. Unlike the other kids, Matt was busier in studying rather than playing around with other kids.

This often caused him to be taunted and bullied by the kids that led him to take out his frustrations in his father's gym training. One day, while trying to save a blind man from getting under a speeding truck, Matt was accidentally exposed to radioactive hazard from the truck that spilled in his face and later it rendered him blind.

The Man Without Fear
During his time in hospital, Matt realized that he has lost his vision but his hearing and smelling senses have been amped up on uncanny level. Though everyone around him used to take pity on him, he was being eyed by ninja master Stick for a while.

With a purpose in mind, Stick approaches him for training and using his newly gained super enhanced senses, Matt became pretty good at doing things that no blind man can do, including target practice with impeccable accuracy. Later, his father was murdered by "The Fixer" and his henchmen for not going down in a match.

He chased them down all and one by one took them down before one of his chases has led him to a brothel, where he accidentally pushed a girl out of window. After this, Stick abandoned him for his lack of discipline and control over his emotions. A year later, he went to college to study law and befriended fellow freshman Foggy Nelson.

There, he came across Elektra and quickly fell in love only for her to leave him shortly and break his heart. Meanwhile, Hell's Kitchen saw a new villain named Wilson Fisk to rise in power and would become the Kingpin of crime who controls every major crime there. Matt would eventually come back to his old place without knowing this.

He befriended a young girl named Mickey at his father's gym and would confront a lieutenant of Kingpin named Larks after going against an entire mob, effectively shutting down the ring and debuting as vigilante hero Daredevil. He would later start practicing law with Foggy Nelson in their own law-firm named Nelson and Murdock.

When Karen Page flew off from New York to pursue an acting career, she ended up becoming a junkie and pornstar. For a shot of heroin she even sold out the secret identity of the superhero Daredevil, who is also her former lover Matt Murdock. This information reaches to the Kingpin of crime and he used this to destroy the life of his enemy.

Matt loses his job, framed for a case to tip off a witness, his girlfriend left him and finally, his house blew up in front of him. When he couldn't take it anymore and decided to face Wilson Fisk after figuring out the details. It caused him to get beat down heavily and he survived with an inch of his life before Sister Maggie came to his rescue.

Hell-bent on killing his arch-rival, the lord of crime then hires a deranged psychopath to kill his friend Foggy Nelson wearing a Daredevil suit but Matt stopped it from happening. Then he released super soldier Nuke on Hell's Kitchen neighborhood to wreck havoc, which brought in Captain America and The Avengers into the scene.
