Superman – Son of Superman | Comics

Ready to assume the mantle of his fallen counterpart, Superman faces another radical survivor of Krypton.

Prime Earth's Man of Steel gave his life away to save the world from the threat of a mentally unstable imposter Superman. The Superman who got here during “Convergence” is now living here as Clark White, who is the husband of Lois Lane and father to his boy Jon Kent.

He was also there when the incident happened and paid his respect to the fallen hero of this world. Spending a whole life-time of playing the role of the big blue boy-scout, Clark is now trying to settle in with his family in Hamilton Country, now going by as The Smiths.

While being a farm boy from Kansas, he uses his gifts only when it is necessary, whereas his young son is still learning to get his grip on his untapped raw powers, which even cost him the life of his dear cat and his next door neighbor Kathy Branden saw that happen.

Growing up to be the son of World’s greatest and most powerful hero is a lot of pressure to carry and when you are also one of the most powerful being on the planet, it adds up. As Batman and Wonder Woman comes to see Clark, Jon is caught peeping on them and his father took him to the Arctic for training him to use his powers.

Responding to a distress signal, the father-son duo then takes down a giant squid-like creature controlled by a crystal machine with teamwork and left afterwards. Jon shares with his father about the incident with his cat and Clark teaches him to be responsible for his own actions.

The remains of the machine detects Kryptonian/human hybrid DNA from the fight scene and forms a shape of the House of El symbol. Later at home, when Jon accidentally hurts himself by falling from a tree branch, Clark rushes with his boy to the Fortress of Solitude for immediatee treatment.

They enter only to find a being bearing resemblance to a rival Superman has fought long before; The Eradicator. Initially, Superman's response seeing his enemy was very violent even for a mild-mannered like him.

The ensuing brawl shook the very walls of the Fortress of Solitude and as Lois and Jon were about to hit by falling debris while seeking for cover, Eradicator actually saved them both. As Jon was diagnosed and treated for his injury, he explains that his mission is to find out lawbreaking Kryptonians hiding across the galaxy; a protocol set earlier by General Zod.

Then they were simply looking for survivors of Krypton after he witnessed the planet's destruction and then he found new traces of Kryptonian DNA on Earth only to discover that it belonged to Jon. Since his genome is tainted with Lois's human side, the entity suggests eradicating that half of the boy will suffice for purification.

While attempting of doing that, Krypto jumped in the middle and got swallowed by the being, enraging the Man of Steel once again for the sacrifice made by his hound of steel.

Superman – Son of Superman

Following “The Final Days of Superman” storyline from The New 52 continuity and the ground-breaking start of a new era of adventure with DC Rebirth, the world was missing a Man of Steel!

We were all in luck because comic-book writer Patrick Gleason (Batman and Robin – New 52, Sinestro Corps War) and Peter J. Tomasi (Black Adam – The Dark Age, Superman/Wonder Woman) brought us back the original Big-Blue boy scout from Post-Crisis era that we all used to know and love, the one from a time before “Flashpoint” crossover event changing mainstream DC Universe entirely.

The storytellers were aided by artists Doug Mahnke (Final Crisis, Justice League Elite), Mick Gray, Jaime Mendoza, Jorge Jimenez and Patrick Gleason himself lined up themselves to portray the story to us that also introduced us to the “Son of Superman”, which also happens to be the title of the story that features Superman: Rebirth issue #1 as well as issues #1-6 from the fourth ongoing monthly volume of Superman.

Although Jon Kent has not established himself as a super-hero just yet and still operates under his father's supervision, this arc explores his capacity to outshine his father.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Wanted (Hardcover)

The second storyline from Marvel Comics' fourth monthly ongoing volume of Guardians of the Galaxy, "Wanted" is comprised of four individual adventures by teamed-up Guardians, leading to one big-finale. Regular writer of the series, Brian Michael Bendis (Daredevil – End of Days, Daredevil – Ninja) and his new collaborating artist Valerio Schiti (Guardians of the Galaxy – Civil War II, New Avengers – A Perfect World) were on the creative wheels, as Arthur Adams (Gen¹³/Generation X, Longshot) was doing covers for all the issues involved. Bendis have started plotting a series of inter-connected stories from "Emperor Quill" and will see an end by the end of the monthly series, drawing a much deserved conclusion.

Deathstroke – Family Business | Comics

In search for his missing daughter Rose Wilson, Deathstroke came to confront an old friend turned a powerful enemy.

In a quest to find his missing daughter, Slade Wilson has confronted Joker's crazy girlfriend Harley Quinn, fought an army of Bizarros at LexCorp and then went after his contact Victor Ruiz only to encounter Red Hood in an alleyway. Deathstroke managed to find Rose Wilson, aided by a person from his past now calling himself Lawman.

During his recent search, Slade has been shot, stabbed and even stung by Snakebite, all of which has drained his healing factor. Rose is eventually found but sided with his foes; even she wants to kill her father now. When finally confronted, he recognized his enemy as a former mercenary partner named Wardell Chambers.

Five years ago, Slade went to Kahndaq with Wardell for a contract and when his colleague was fatally shot, he had to run. Not only did his associate survived, he developed power to bend minds when enemies revived him with meta-human blood. Thinking he was betrayed and left for dead, he returned as Lawman to exact his vengeance.

So, he came up with an elaborate plan to take D-Stroke down slowly and finally got to her daughter to amplify her hatred for Slade to make her switch side with him. He is also allied with mysterious Nova Council, who wants a piece of Deathstroke and after taking off his guns, Wardell faces him one on one in a knife combat.

Meanwhile, Red Hood gains consciousness back in the chopper and decided give Slade a helping hand. It gave him an opening to slightly recover and had his enemies running for cover but Lawman quickly took over his mind, sending him off to see Batman calling him for assistance in finding The Joker and he then leaves.

Rose managed to break free of the mind link Wardell had over her and starts fighting back but got stabbed along with her father. As Lawman was about to finish them off, they both became invisible to his eyes and Slade sees his son Jericho standing beside League of Assassins' leader Ra's al Ghul, who cloaked them using his powers.

It appears that Jericho has taken sanctuary of Ra's at Nanda Parbat for some time and Slade has accepted to remain there for Rose as well. He continues to take down agents of Dead Bustards and waits to get his hands on Victor Ruiz. Although he is offered assistance from League of Assassins, he refused to be in debt to Ra's al Ghul.

Deathstroke has once chosen to be his successor but things didn't work out like he expected back then. So, he asks that Slade lets his extraordinary children to take that position to which, he claims both Jericho and Rose Wilson are off-limits.

Wardell still managed to get into Rose's head and successfully invoked her into attacking her father under his influence but in between this, Jericho peered into his mind using the same link to know his current whereabouts. Lawman and Snakebite then met Nova Council representative Mystasia to discuss how to apprehend D-Stroke.

Ra's al Ghul suggests that they should take a League of Assassins strike team to wrap things up smoothly but Wilson family decides to do it on their own. Even though Slade came prepared, Rose accidentally got injured so bad that saving her life would require him to be indebted to Ra's for life and pledge allegiance to his cause.
