Action Comics – Men of Steel | Comics

Lex Luthor is being hunted down by an alien assassin named Godslayer while the Man of Steel struggles to save his former enemy.

In a distant future, Earth will be engulfed in flames and toxic fumes with the fall of Justice League. Aquaman, Batman, Cyborg, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, The Flash and Wonder Woman will fall as army of Parademons from the hellish world of Apokolips will take over Earth on behalf of their master, The Annihilator.

In present, Earth just witnessed Death of Superman on Prime Earth lately and another one from the reality of New Earth has stepped into his shoes to protect mankind and honor his legacy. At that time, former super-villain Lex Luthor has proclaimed himself as new Man of Steel of Metropolis in absence of the original one.

Despite new Superman's disapproval of his work, Luthor continues his work by fighting to protect Metropolis wearing the iconic red cape of the original one. Eventually, they both set aside their past differences when an ultimate killing machine from Krypton named Doomsday got loose on streets of Metropolis (Path of Doom).

Another Clark Kent then showed up mysteriously out of the blue and Lois Lane took place as a reporter of her counterpart from this world. Lois and Lex both came under attack at Daily Planet during one of their interview session.

Superman and Superboy were investigating on Amazon Rainforest where they found the missing Geneticron building that previously vanished from Metropolis during the recent Doomsday incident earlier. Suddenly, at a call of emergency from Lois, he immediately heads back to Metropolis with Jon.

He saw that Lex was already engaged in a fight wearing his suit with an unknown alien who calls himself L'Call, the Godslayer. Out of nowhere, Superman is suddenly punched down by L'Call's accomplice, Zade before he could even react.

Godslayer states, he is an alien assassin who kills future-criminals for generations, guided by elder Ch'Arr and now he is here for Lex Luthor, who will take Darkseid's place in a near future and his army will decimate many worlds including this one.

L'Call believes that Lex should be slayed to prevent that dystopian future from ever to happen. He came from future seeing this and he knows how great of a threat Lex would become because, he was once forced to serve the dreaded Darkseid after his family was slayed by the tyrant himself.

In spite of his dad's order, Jon came helping by pummeling a truck over Zade but Godslayer and Zade overpowered Superman and made a mess throughout Metropolis before forcibly taking Luthor with them for execution.

To save a would-be galactic mass murderer believed by two assassins from future, the Man of Tomorrow must journey to distant planet of Nideesi following Godslayer's unique form of energy trail. An intense face-off awaits between Godslayer and Superman on Nideesi to decide Luthor's uncertain fate of becoming Annihilator of Worlds.

Action Comics – Men of Steel

As part of the DC Rebirth era, Action Comics continues its run with "Men of Steel" story arc, plotted by writer Dan Jurgens (Metamorpho – Year One, Superman/Doomsday – Hunter/Prey) teamed up with the team of artists Art Thibert (Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men), Patrick Zircher (Green Arrow – New 52, Suicide Squad – New 52), Stephen Segovia (Green Lantern – New Guardians – Gods and Monsters, Poison Ivy – Cycle of Life and Death) and Tyler Kirkham (The Darkness, Tomb Raider).

Penciller Clay Mann (Dark Reign – ElektraMagneto – Not a Hero) and Gary Frank (Batman – Earth OneSuperman – Secret Origin) has provided variant covers for the issues involved. The storyline collects issues #967-972 from Action Comics monthly ongoing and features an unlikely team-up of Superman and Lex Luthor, to save the latter from an alien bounty-hunter who is hell-bent on capturing and execute him to save millions of lives in future.

Given the fact that Lex Luthor has always been evil sinnce the very beginning, L'Call, the Godslayer and elder Ch'Arr was probably right. Even if he doesn't become a re-incarnation of the dreaded Darkseid, he can still take over on Earth using his warsuit of Apokolips. The series will explore a crossover storyline "Superman Reborn" from DC Comics next which will answer questions to many mysteries.

Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad | Comics

Belle Reve is already a certified madhouse and upon the "The Black Vault" unleashing a murder spree among everyone in it, Harley Quinn regained her lost sanity. As Killer Croc attempts to eat June Moone alive, Rick Flag intervenes and she transforms into The Enchantress.

These four head to where General Zod is kept to keeping him from wake up and unleash his Phantom Zone army. During this ensuing struggle, Hack managed to siphon out Captain Boomerang, who was previously thought dead. After they've dealt with the crisis, Suicide Squad has recruited the metahuman Killer Frost in their team.

In Death Valley, California, a man quietly walks into the top-secret prison Catacombs to release the dangerous prisoners held captive there for their second chances. While the guards tried to stop him, all of them are killed by themselves under the influence of this man and the rescued villains followed this mystery man.

The prisoners Doctor Polaris, Emerald Empress, Johnny Sorrow, Lobo and Rustam soon finds out that their rescuer is none other than the telepath Maxwell Lord, who wants to kill Amanda Waller to save the world.

Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad | Comics

Squad members Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, El Diablo, Enchantress, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc and Killer Frost are all sent on a suicide mission without their leader Rick Flag to fight the death cult of Brimstone Brotherhood, led by Apex.

Apparently, they have stolen a Quake Pulsar device from S.T.A.R. Labs to destroy the island they are in as a ritual sacrifice. Deadshot makes the kill-shot on Apex before he does some serious damage but then the building he was standing on starts to tremble. Seeing running from this is pointless, Floyd Lawton willingly starts falling into his imminent death.

However, his life is unexpectedly saved by Superman's timely arrival and entire team of Justice League arrives with him to arrest Task Force X for taking them into custody. Waller then orders her Squad to fight their way out of this situation at any cost or she'll blow up their heads to protect her secret.

A massive fight ensues where Aquaman, Batman, Cyborg, Flash, Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Superman and Wonder Woman overpowers them, until Killer Frost starts sucking the life-force from Superman and encases all League members in ice, successfully capturing them all.

At Belle Reve, all members of Justice League are kept as prisoners of Amanda Waller and Batman was the one among his friends to break out of his restrains before everyone else. He demands that Waller immediately released his friends and she does so before asking for their help to protect her life from Max's new accomplices.

They are the original Suicide Squad that she formed years ago and now all of them want revenge on her. Aside from that, there is a weapon in Belle Reve which will grant Max absolute power and control over the whole world and he is leading his team of misfits here to retrieve it.

Meanwhile, seeking revenge on director Amanda Waller, Max Lord eventually manages to convince Doctor Polaris, Emerald Empress, Johnny Sorrow, Lobo and Rustam to his goals so that they can chase their own with his help. He is about to unleash darkness upon the world and Lord goes looking for it in an island of South Pacific with his own team of Task Force X.

After killing all the Shamans who opposed them, Max confronts their High Priest to get his tool of revenge against Waller. He got his hands on a source of power he was looking for long but it proved to be too much for him to control and he succumbs to it.

Trinity – Better Together | Comics

A Trinity of world's most legendary superheroes is reformed only to stand opposing the power of White Mercy.

In their gloriously extensive superhero career, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman have taken on various enemies like Bane, Cheetah, Doomsday, The Joker and Lex Luthor individually but together they are capable of achieving triumph over greater evil.

The Final Days of Superman has left the world without a protector to look after and then it turns out there is another time-displaced Man of Steel around them who's been living among them with his family for some time. He is married to reporter Lois Lane, with whom he has a ten year old son and they all are denizens of Prime Earth now.

When Lois Lane invited them, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince arrive on Smith Farm, Hamilton County. They decide to keep this simple but a brash young Jon Kent blasts them away when he got startled by seeing Bruce's costume underneath his dress along with Diana's Bracelets of Submission and a dead wild boar using his x-ray vision.

Returning home right after his regular world saving roundups, Clark discovers them on his land at the same time. All of them go inside after settling up to have a nice family dinner together and The Trinity then reunites in a nearby field afterwards recalling their old times from both worlds while something mysterious lurks near the barn.

Bruce then shares his first-hand experience of meeting a young Superman of this world who nearly killed him and Green Lantern Hal Jordan upon meeting.

So, he couldn't help but being curious about this new Man of Steel from another world is and came to find out who he really is. Diana took a little bit of private time with Lois to talk and she assures that she isn't here to steal Clark from her or rekindle her old relationship with him at all because he is not the same man she once loved.

Suddenly, Clark hears a call from inside their barn and goes to check out a mysterious mirror where he sees a reflection of his young self from past and his father Jonathan Kent. Following Clark, Bruce and Diana took on a journey where Clark has just discovered his amazing abilities and is scared to see The Trinity on Kent Farm.

In Gotham, Batman has witnessed his parent's death once again from over a rooftop as Clark and Diana stands by. With Alfred Pennyworth and Dr. Harleen Quinzel being at his side at Wayne Manor, his kid self is currently in shock and struggling to deal with issues when horrors like Man-Bat and Scarecrow constantly tries terrorizing him.

Their quest eventually lead them all to Themyscira, where Diana met with her mother Queen Hippolyta and her younger self, followed by three of them. These heroes are being tested for their skills and merit in games of Amazons. Meanwhile, Lois storms into the barn with a car to discover villainous Poison Ivy grabs a hold of her son Jon.

A night that started with a family-reunion soon escalates into a major crisis of illusion constructed by one of their dreaded old nemesis and an alien tyrant named Mongul, who is back with his daughter White Mercy. Together, this ruthless father-daughter duo is about to put an end to The Trinity inside a world full of illusions.

This is also the first time when an alternate version of heroes, who is from pre-Flashpoint era, has joined their little band of three and that actually gives a dynamic sense of diversity to this iconic team. While discussing about stuffs of two different worlds, references of Green Lantern from Prime Earth and Robin of New Earth were mentioned.

A few unresolved issues like what happens to Mongul next will be further detailed in "Action Comics – The New World". The plotline will be followed up with their next adventure titled "Dead Space", where these heroes will fight an alien invasion and will seek help from a mystic trinity later to save a few more in "Dark Destiny" storyline.
