Red Hood and the Outlaws – Who Is Artemis | Comics

Though Red Hood and Bizarro knows very little about Amazon warrior Artemis, they all stands together when her past comes to strike back.

In absence of Gotham City crime-lord Black Mask, Red Hood decides to step up and scare the goons of the former mob-boss away but faced with hostility from them. When they came at him, Bizarro shows up all of a sudden and starts trashing the mobs.

As the flawed Superman clone and ex-Robin was doing the clean-up, Killer Croc of Suicide Squad throws Jason Todd up out of nowhere. Feeling extremely protective about Red Hood, Bizarro freezes his head and punched it off, only to reveal it was a synthezoid.

Jason shares his concern about Bizarro to Artemis, who shows him classified videos at LexCorp that all the Bizarro clones were meant to be destroyed because their unstable nature poses a threat to everyone. For the safe of every other living being, Jason makes up his mind to take care of the matter and visits the Batcave to acquire the means to do that.

To put him out of his misery, Jason takes Bizarro on a trip to a riverside where the latter explains how he sees him and Artemis as his only friends and eventually, his positive perspective convinced Jason of keeping up instead of killing him.

Next up, Red Hood and Artemis walks into a bar looking for a man named Stirk, which created a stir among the patrons and the femme fatale trashed the whole place within moments. She momentarily stunned seeing a glimpse of her old friend Akila but Jason reveals it to be Stirk by knocking him over.

Jason asks her about Akila and Artemis starts telling about her time in the fallen town of Bana-Mighdall, training with her best friend to be the champion of her people. Ages before, one of the Amazon foremothers had a clash with Queen Hippolyta and then they departed from Themyscira as a new pantheon of gods took them in.

Akila was a champion of the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall and never wanted to become Shim'tar. One day she vanished without a trace and was found by Artemis, who was sure that her friend has been summoned by the gods. When invaders from Qurac attacked, she picked up the Bow of Ra and in an attempt to save her people, Akila doomed them all.

Artemis reached at the scene too late and found Wonder Woman there to take the threat down. Although she attacked Diana at first but soon they teamed-up to defeat Akila possessed by Ra, killing her and Bow of Ra was lost.

Today, Red Hood, Artemis and Bizarro go to K'kyesh, Qurac seeing news of chaos by unidentified weapon of mass destruction back there. After their plane is shot out off sky, Bizarro got stranded, Jason is captured by the men of Qurac's General Ahmed Heinle and Artemis faces a ghost from the past.

Red Hood and the Outlaws – Who Is Artemis

The second monthly ongoing volume of Red Hood and the Outlaws brings the storyline, "Who Is Artemis" from DC Comics in 2017. It all begins from the previous story arc "Dark Trinity" at the dawn of DC Rebirth, where Artemis stumbled onto Jason Todd as she was looking for the missing Bow of Ra and now concluding the plot in "Who Is Artemis".

Collecting issues #07-11, the storyline is composed by veteran comic-book writer Scott Lobdell (Alpha Flight, Generation X), who was aided by artists Dexter Soy (Batman – Arkham Knight – Genesis, DC Universe Vs. Masters of the Universe), Kenneth Rocafort (Madame Mirage, Velocity) and Mirko Colak.

While characters like Batman, The Joker and Lex Luthor appears throughout the story in holograms or visions, Alfred Pennyworth and Wonder Woman made actual cameo appearance. Since Artemis is now a part of Red Hood's Outlaws, Jason took it upon himself and Bizarro to aid her and thus, the bond of the Outlaws became greater than ever.

The first Bizarro was actually a creature dubbed as Subject B-0 that died saving Luthor from the assault of Crime Syndicate during the events of "Forever Evil". The one that is hanging out with Artemis and Jason is Bizarro II from one of Lex's latter experiments.

Spider-Man & Deadpool – Itsy Bitsy | Comics

Her name is Itsy Bitsy and she is the worst nightmare of Spider-Man and Deadpool by killing in their names!

A group of small-time villains with issues calling themselves Hateful Hexad consists of Bearboarguy, Gibbon, Ox, Squid, Swarm and White Rabbit were planning to rise above their situation of constantly getting beaten down by heroes only for Deadpool and Spider-Man to come at them all of a sudden, out of nowhere.

The duo makes a quick work of these lowlife criminals with a great team-up effort but Wade got stabbed through his chest by White Rabbit when he was feeling a bit jumpy when talking about how things are with his wife, Queen Shiklah. His face is not disfigured anymore and he became a good guy, which is not working well for his married life.

They wrap things up with Spidey webbing up Squid but then noticed that the baddie is choking on it and try to tear it up a little to give him room for breathing. DP points out that he don’t remember stabbing Gibbon and then a sword hits Squid on the head. Bearboarguy goes down too and Ox is stabbed with three swords on his back.

Deadpool was successful in saving White Rabbit when she was being pulled upward by the neck. Back in their hideout Dead-Cave, Wade urges Spider-Man to stop playing Overwatch and asks him to find the punk-rock chick they met earlier. He called Patient Zero over to their clubhouse after figuring out he has a vendetta on Dee Pee. The villain accepts that he created her to destroy them but she wanted to team-up with the heroes.

Seeing his creating having an opposing view, Patient Zero came seeking protection but got sliced into pieces before he could reveal much about her or his own identity. Itsy Bitsy wants to fight crime together with her "Daddies" and came to convince them that she is on their side but got rejected nonetheless for her violent methods.

Since she posses both of their powers, Deadpool and Spidey was having a tough time dealing with her even after pushing to their limits. Sick of getting punched, stabbed and his clubhouse being ruined, Wade blew up his vehicle Dead-Buggy full of hundred pounds of C4 explosives to unsuccessfully get rid of her and ended up in Weirdworld.

There they came across a Dragon, Glarkomen Ogres, Moloids, Witch Queen Morgan le Fay herself and Sl'Ur'Boroth, The Forgotten during their short stay. Dee Pee and Webs even fought for the freedom of Ogres before returning back to Earth. Away for a few hours, the duo returns to find out more than a dozen criminal corpses webbed up by Itsy Bitsy.

Ever since Peter Parker returned from afterlife, Webhead has been feeling a bit empty inside and no matter whatever he does, there will always be something missing. Tangling down with this psychotic killer chick that kills in their names, they have been failing each time they tried to stop her when she goes on a killing spree of "Bad Guys".

Wade believes they need to level up and calls in Nightcrawler for some sword fighting lessons. Arguing about whether to kill her led to a point where Wallcrawler decapitated and sends him to Hell. Shiklah arranged a meeting for him with Patient Zero while Demon Bamfs were sewing his head back to his body and Spidey goes to take down Itsy Bitsy.

A Murderous Mix-Up

On surface, it all looks like a vendetta of a madman gone wrong that has given birth to a genetic freak that is tormenting those costumed crime-fighters but someone with a twisted motive is actually pulling all the strings in order to break one of them. Situation went so dire that the friendship among the heroes even started to nearly crumble.

Aside from Anna Maria Marconi, Queen Shiklah and Mephisto, X-Men member Nightcrawler showed up for a surprise cameo. Reference of "The Death of Gwen Stacy" arc was unknowingly made by the Merc with a Mouth. Up next, they are about to chase tails of villainous Arcade and walking cartoon Slapstick for some "Serious Business".

The Dark Knight III – The Master Race | Comics

Three years have passed since anyone seen The Dark Knight of Gotham City and other heroes have retreated while a Master Race rises.

The Dark Knight has been gone after the fall of Lex Luthor's tyrannical reign and demise of a Joker-like Dick Grayson, who was hell-bent on killing off elderly heroes. Batman has been gone off the grids for three years now and Bruce Wayne is also nowhere to be found. Because of his long absence, many believe that he is dead and not coming back this time.

Someone enters the Batcave to shatter down a display case where the Batsuit was hanging and took it. Suddenly, images of a shrouded figure beating up trigger-happy cops chasing an unarmed suspect blows up on media, who appears to be Batman.

In a forest, Wonder Woman is fighting a giant Minotaur while holding her young son Jonathan on her back to save the natives from it. Upon defeating the creature, Diana heads back to Paradise Island for a sparring session with her daughter Lara, only to learn that she is gone.

Always questioned about her inheritance, she finds Superman inside the Fortress of Solitude, who has willingly frozen himself on an icy throne. Hearing noise, Lara discovers the Bottle City of Kandor, which she then takes to Ray Palmer AKA The Atom and asks for his help to restore the shrunken city of Kandor.

The Mayor hired a P.R. firm to handle the situation as Commissioner Ellen Yindel is being bombard with question from journalists regarding her thoughts on the return of Batman. Later, as she was thinking about current situation, a sighting of the vigilante alarmed her. With cops in pursuit, the mysterious figure violently fights back when surrounded.

After the angry mob of police was done beating, Yindel unmasks the person and it turns out to be Carrie Kelley in Bat costume, who used to be former Robin. Commissioner asks Carrie about Bruce Wayne's whereabouts and she claims him to be dead.

A badly-beaten Carrie is taken into custody for interrogation but Commissioner Yindel had no success at all. While transferring her to Blackgate, the tank-like Batmobile comes crushing at her rescue and she escapes in it. She returns to Batcave to see Bruce Wayne standing over, waiting for her arrival.

Lara approaches Doctor Palmer with a resident of Kandor named Baal seeking help to restore their city. Ray reveals that his past attempts gone horribly wrong to Lara and Baal but then she storms off hearing her mother's call. When returned to new Amazon city, she engaged in sparring with her mother.

Upon calibrating his shrinking tech and required variables about Kryptonian physiology, Ray takes the Bottle City of Kandor in a desert and brought back Kandor citizens in full-size. He then realized many of them were dead at the hands of a fanatic cult led by Baal's father Quar. Ray is shrunk using his own technology and stepped over by Baal.

His father then obliterates the bottle city and its remaining inhabitants for not following him. Quar makes a demand to the world that he and his followers are to be accepted as Gods or perish. Realizing he is too old to fight them, Bruce pays a visit to Fortress of Solitude.

Following the ground-breaking success of "The Dark Knight Returns" and "The Dark Knight Strikes Again", writer Frank Miller (300, Ronin) returned with third installment of The Dark Knight Trilogy from DC Comics in 2017 after it started in 2015. Brian Azzarello (Wonder Woman – Blood, Wonder Woman – Guts) also helped Miller devise a more balanced plot this time than his past efforts of writing senseless superhero violence.

Artist Andy Kubert (Before Watchmen – Nite Owl, Damian – Son of Batman) draws core story from all issues while Klaus Janson returned to work on tie-in shorts, also set on the same alternate reality of Earth-31 from DC Multiverse.

Whereas "The Dark Knight Returns" kind of expected all readers to assume the worst have happened to our vigilante hero before they even began and "The Dark Knight Strikes Again" just started throwing things at us without any explanation, DKIII actually tries to dive slightly deeper than before while leaving possibilities for a sequel.

Aside from regular primary character of this series, AquamanThe FlashGreen Lantern Hal Jordan, Hawkman and Hawkgirl appeared throughout the story. Hopefully, we will see young Jonathan grow up to be Superboy as his elder sister becomes a Supergirl in this brave-new world.

When Kal-El fails to deduce who this mysterious fellow really is, he starts dropping hints by frequently changing into Bizarro, Brainiac, Cyborg Superman, Doomsday, Lex Luthor, Mongul and Parasite one by one, asking to say his name. Superman eventually figured out it was his old enemy Mister Mxyzptlk and the imp erased Jon from existence for big-blue forgetting him.

The Walking Dead – A Certain Doom | Comics

The Whisperers have lost in battle but unleashed a sea of dead bring about a certain doom for all that is living.

After a failed attempt of ruining Alexandria and Hilltop in retaliation for the death of their leader, The Whisperers have managed to regroup for launching a full-scale attack on them. Though they are defeated, a furious Beta refuses to rest until Rick Grimes and his community members perished by a wave of undead march.

Eugene came back home with a huge supply of ammo for an impending conflict but soon collapses due to over exhaustion. Dwight and his group returned shortly afterwards bearing news of their victory but when he shared to Rick that they fought hundreds of Walkers, he freaked out because Alpha showed him thousands of them.

Just like a roaring ocean, a massive herd of countless undeads is led to Alexandria by Beta and his followers. Seeing an army of walking corpses marching towards them, Dwight rushes to lure them away like Eugene and his crew used to do. Andrea tagged along in driving parts of the herd from street and many falls into the trench they dug.

On road, Michonne decides to take down a few of them on foot to keep them following and then switches with Jesus. People in Alexandria takes a stand with weapons as Walkers passed the trench by running over their own. Negan was standing there without a firearm and he picks a knife to kill a few trying to push through their fence.

Paula, Siddiq and other have joined him but then roamers eventually knocked it down and everyone ran. Amidst this chaos, Paula is grabbed by them and Rick fell down but just as he was about to get swarmed, Negan came back to drive him to safety. Just from afar, John and Tara of the Saviors watch over how they are holding up.

Carl, Lydia, Maggie and a few other Hilltop residents came to see that Alexandria has already been overrun. Michonne and Jesus join them shortly after a quick roundup to go together again for luring more zombies and dumping them into ocean. Annie and Siddiq bursts into Eugene's house to hide but discover his radio equipment lying there.

Inside their walls, Negan and Rick find an empty house to take shelter in from a rampant herd. Andrea came just in time to lead them away with a horn and they slowly start to thin out. When Rick wants to go out, Negan tells him to stay inside and cover for him by the door while he doo some stabbing as he might need some help.

When he is surrounded, Rick starts shooting to clear a path for him and then they try it on a different door. Soon, other survivors join them in taking out whatever roamers left and cleaning up this mess. So far, the idea of leading the herd to ocean was working great but Andrea and Eugene notice a part of them are still wandering around.

He decides to run those Walkers away on his own but fell off from horse when surrounded, leading Andrea to come back. Magna and Yumiko kept shooting to clear a small path but remained skeptical whether or not they would make it.

Knowing their defense would be weak, Carl and Lydia comes helping with a handful of survivors to help out getting rid of some zombies. Sherry leads a few Saviors to overwhelm a weary Dwight and his group to clean up whatever is left. Tensions are high on both sides and their leaders have come to an inevitable confrontation.

The Walking Dead – A Certain Doom

Post-apocalyptic survival saga of The Walking Dead monthly ongoing comic-book from Image Comics has seen its biggest Zombie crisis yet in "A Certain Doom" storyline of 2017 by creator/writer Robert Kirkman (Battle Pope, Haunt) and artist Charlie Adlard (Judge Dredd, The X-Files), collecting issues #163-168 from the series.

Rick and his friends are probably facing something even bigger than "All Out War" but it was a fight against the living back then. Of course, The Whisperers have helped escalating the whole situation when their attempt of destroying Alexandria and Hilltop failed miserably but a massive army of dead itself is a threat enough on its own.

Rick even allowed his former arch-enemy Negan to fight alongside Dwight and his militia, who has proved his worth out there. He saved Rick when their walls are compromised by a swarm of Walkers and helped him to find safe shelter. Also, he handled a tensed situation when they were outgunned by remaining Saviors led by Sherry.

Dead will perish and opposing rebellions will fall eventually with a heavy cost of lives from each sides. When all are going to be settled for good, a major character will bite the dust and nothing will ever be same for remaining survivors. TWD will take a major shift from this point and head to a new direction in upcoming "Lines We Cross" storyline.
